At the beginning, Jack is complaining about the Tok'ra leading to trouble every time they come through the gate. Then a beautiful woman comes through and both Jack and Daniel are smitten. Daniel responds to Anise's name description. Showing off, Jack tries to do the same, realizes he doesn't know, and changes the subject. Sam does not say what her name means, so I looked it up.

2. Who says the following quote to Jack? "You're eating a lot."

(Dr. Frasier has a similar quote: "You seem to be developing a sweet tooth.") Jack walks in on Daniel studying the arm band he has just started wearing. Jack, who has had his band awhile, asks him if he's noticed anything yet. Daniel responds with the above quote. Jack then proceeds to read an entire book in about five seconds, a feat Daniel tries to duplicate but is unable to at that time.

3. Who says the following quote to Daniel? "Want me to read to you?"

After Jack has read a book really fast, Daniel tries to do the same, but is unsuccessful. Jack then asks this question and Daniel just gives him a look. Later, Daniel is able to cross reference the writings on the armband with every language on Earth in about an hour. Then he reads through Anise's notes on the Atoniques in about three seconds.

Sam, Jack and Daniel leave the base to get some steaks. As they sit around the table, they are discussing a fence they jumped (not shown) in order to leave the base. They are very casual about it, like it was no big deal.

Daniel and Sam both order four steaks each and Sam gets hers with fries instead of baked potato. She also orders a diet soda. When Jack and Daniel look at her strangely, she says, "I like the taste better."

"Earth, steak, there's a difference" is one of my favorite lines from all of "Stargate SG-1". The bar they visit is called O'Malley's Bar and Grill. After eating, Carter challenges another patron to a game of pool and beats him with a very tricky shot, three balls sunk at once.

7. Why did Jack speak the line "This is a cliche"?

Answer: They were about to get into a fight with superior numbers.

Sam won a pool game with a tricky shot. The guy she was playing called Daniel a geek and Daniel didn't want to let it go 'this time'. The guy had a lot of really big friends who stood up to intimidate Jack and Daniel. Jack said, "Well, this is a cliche," then tossed a guy across the room like it was nothing. Unfortunately, that's all we see of the fight.

8. Who says the line "We were very hungry, sir," to General Hammond?

This was Sam's explanation as to why they had defied orders, left the base, gone to town and gotten into a fight at a local bar. Daniel couldn't explain it and Jack's defense was to say they were very sorry.

9. While planning to visit a Gou'ald world to destroy a new ship, Sam says, "The only problem is there are force shields protecting this restricted area." What is Daniel's response?

Sam is concerned that they won't be able to get into the secured area to take out the cooling system, because it is surrounded by force shields. Daniel asks "So?", like force shields are no big deal. Then Sam realizes what he means, and explains to Jack (who doesn't get it) that, running at super speed, they could run right through the shields like they weren't even there.

This is Jack's contribution to the plan to travel to a heavily armed Gou'ald planet to destroy a new ship Apophis was building. Jack was the only one who seemed to need a lot of extra food for energy. The scene then switches to Jack, Sam and Daniel taking out everyone in the gateroom and overriding all of the controls so they can go off on the mission.

11. Why did Jack say, "We should have brought more snacks," while on the mission?

Answer: His armband fell off.

The armbands come off when the body fights the virus that causes the super strength, speed, etc. All three lose their bands while trying to escape Apophis's base before the explosives go off. Sam and Jack get trapped on opposite sides of a force shield. Jack refuses to leave Sam behind, but they luck out when the C4 explosion knocks out the shields.

Teal'c comes in and saves the others just after Daniel's armband fell off. Jack and Sam go to stop some guards they can hear coming. Teal'c helps Daniel out, then tries to go back for Jack and Sam only to find a shield in his way.

13. To whom was Daniel speaking when he said, "Yeah, Teal'c wouldn't leave"?

Answer: Jack

As they are running from the base, which will explode in ten minutes, Jack says, "I thought I told you guys to get back to that gate?" Daniel's response is "Yeah, Teal'c wouldn't leave." The four run to the gate, Teal'c covering them with Zat fire. They reach the gate and run through just in the nick of time.

14. Where was Jack when he said, "Just remember, I retired, you wanted me back"?

Answer: lying on the ramp before the gate

Jack thought they were going to be in trouble because they had defied orders, again. General Hammond told them he would not press charges because they were under the influence of an alien technology.

At first Jack says, "About the impending court marshal..." But Hammond reassures them that no action will be taken because they were "under the influence of alien technology." Jack still feels the need to apologize. After Sam and Daniel chime in, Jack motions for Teal'c to apologize. Teal'c then states his line "I have no need to apologize." These are the last words spoken in this, the third episode of the fourth season. Events from this episode play a role in the fifth episode of fourth season, "Divide and Conquer" where Sam and Jack are accused of being Zatarcs.
