Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which person, famous for being an airhead, does the god take on in its final form before being beheaded in "Fallen Idols"?

Answer: Paris Hilton

Leshi was a forest God who killed its worshipers and fed off their blood. It could take on endless forms, to lure people into loving it. In this episode, this particular pest was in Canton, Ohio and using the local wax museum for inspiration. A few inside jokes were made in reference in Jared Padalecki's appearance in "House of Wax" along side famous ditz Paris Hilton. Jared and Paris' characters both were killed in that movie.
2. "I Believe the Children are Our Future"- Jesse Turner's powers came from his half human, half what parentage?

Answer: demon

Jesse was able to make things happen in his town, just because of his childlike belief in the impossible. He was not evil, yet, but had a cold demeanor about him. His mother had been taken by a demon, and after Jesse's birth she gave him away to be raised by another couple. Jesse, in the end, declined the Winchesters' help and left town alone. Gattlin Griffith played Jesse.

He was also in the film "Changeling" with Angelina Jolie.
3. In "The Curious Case Of Dean Winchester", which person did we NOT see age either forward or backward?

Answer: Sam

Bobby lost 25 years in an attempt to win back his legs. Patrick, a witch, used poker as his tool to win years and stay young forever. His wife, Lia, decided to help the men after Dean lost an even bigger amount and became so old that Chad Everett had to play the role. Sam said he could win the years back, after Dean had already won back Bobby's years, but lost his own. Sam was not the poker player Dean was, so Dean and Bobby thought it was a bad idea. And, despite Lia's help with a reversal spell, it ended up being up to Sam to save Dean's life.

He did so, and then Lia played Patrick for her own right to die. She spoke of how it pained her to bury her own daughter, when the daughter was a very old woman. Patrick tried to convince her not to leave him, but gave in when he realized how tired she was.

He watched her die right before his eyes, after winning enough years from her to accomplish her goal.
4. "Changing Channels" was a comic relief episode in the first few segments. Did Sam and Dean believe the Trickster to be behind the shenanigans in Wellington, Ohio?

Answer: Yes

When they had figured it out, the Trickster led them out to a location by prank calling the men. Once inside this huge frame building, the men instantly became members of the cast of "Dr. Sexy, MD". This was a medical drama that Dean had been watching in the motel, which paid homage to "Grey's Anatomy" in a variety of ways.

It even referenced the part of Denny, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who also played John Winchester.
5. At the end of "Changing Channels", the true identity of the Trickster was at long last revealed. Who was he?

Answer: The archangel Gabriel

Castiel tried to warn the men that this could not be an ordinary Trickster, based on his intense powers. But, every time Cas located them, he was yanked away. They finally trapped Gabriel in a ring of holy fire and he admitted the truth. He also believed that fate was fate, and the sooner it all was said and done the better for all the angels who'd started the problem to begin with. Richard Speight Jr reprised his role as the Trickster/Gabriel.
6. Becky Rosen sent a text to Sam and Dean to call them to the location of the first "Supernatural" convention.

Answer: True

They rushed to the location, a creepy hotel, because they'd believed the text to be from the author Chuck Shirley. Instead, Becky had taken Chuck's phone to get the men to the location. She had a rabid crush on Sam, and fawned over him at every opportunity. Since the hotel was really haunted by Letisha Gore and four dead boys, it was a good thing the men arrived.
7. At the end of "The Real Ghostbusters", who gave the Winchesters information on how to find the Colt?

Answer: Becky

Becky knew that it was all true, so she told them that Bella had never given the Colt to Lilith at all, but to a demon named Crowley. Chuck had written it in the book, which of course gave him information the men did not get. He had the omniscient third party prophet perspective, but the men each only had their own points of view.

She told them they needed to start back with Crowley. So, as much of a pain as she seemed, in the end she saw Chuck for the hero he was and offered the Winchesters a new path to look into in their pursuit to save the world.
8. Crowley wanted the Winchesters to use the Colt on Lucifer.

Answer: True

In "Abandon All Hope", the men teamed up with Jo and gained access to Crowley's home. Once inside, Crowley used the Colt on two of his demon henchmen and offered Sam and Dean a scenario. Crowley told them he would give them Colt so they could empty it into Lucifer's face.

Pop culture reference: Crowley called the men the Hardy boys for finding him, in reference to Frank and Joe Hardy, also mystery investigators themselves. Frank and Joe have appeared in many incarnations along side Nancy Drew and in solo efforts. I watched them in the 1980s in repeats of both "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" and "The Hardy Boys Mysteries".
9. "Abandon All Hope"- Bobby explained, via radio, that Lucifer was calling who/what to Carthage?

Answer: Angel of Death

Sam, Dean, Jo and Ellen had lost track of Castiel shortly after they arrived in town. He'd been contained in a ring of holy fire by Lucifer, who was trying to convince Cas to join his side. Then, Meg appeared and set loose the invisible hellhounds on the foursome. Jo was mortally wounded and the four barricaded themselves inside a hardware store. Dean called Bobby on the radio, and Bobby was able to determine that the town was full of reapers because Lucifer was calling in just one Horseman, the Angel of Death. Sam and Dean had to get to a piece of farmland that had seen a bloody battle during the Civil War, so Jo and Ellen remained behind to detonate a bomb.

The bomb would kill some or all of the hellhounds and give the men a chance to reach Lucifer. Jo and Ellen died heroes.
10. At the end of "Abandon All Hope", did the Colt kill Lucifer?

Answer: No

Dean was able to fire a round into Lucifer's face, but it didn't kill him. I knew it wouldn't work. Lucifer sent Dean flying into a tree and told Sam that he was one of the five things in the world that the Colt couldn't kill. He went on to tell Sam that Sam would allow Lucifer to come inside him. Sam would become the vessel in Detroit in about six months from that time. Meanwhile, Castiel was able to use Meg's body as bridge over the holy fire and save the Winchesters before the Angel of Death could appear.

The preview trailer after this episode showed "Supernatural" returning on Jan. 21, 2010.
