Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The house next door to the Hills has been momentarily unoccupied, but no more. New neighbors have moved in, a mother, father and their only child, a daughter. What is the last name of these new neighbors?

Answer: Souphanousinphone

Initially, Hank Hill believes that a couple of guys who are moving things out of the moving van on Kahn's driveway are his new neighbors. They look like the type of neighbors that Hank can be happy with. Hank soon discovers that his new neighbors are quite a bit different, and this seems slightly disconcerting to him and his friends.
2. Certainly not your average Texans, from which U.S. state have the new neighbors moved to join the growing Lone Star state population?

Answer: California

Apparently, the Souphanousinphones lived in Anaheim, California before pulling up the stakes and moving to Arlen, Texas. According to Kahn's wife Minh, they were driven from both Anaheim and their home country of Laos by Kahn's big mouth.
3. Hank Hill cannot seem to comprehend what Kahn is saying when he tells Hank about his home country. Hank just keeps asking, 'So, are you Chinese or Japanese?' What is Kahn's home country?

Answer: Laos

Kahn becomes quite annoyed at the lack of knowledge that Hank Hill and his friends have about the world. He explains that Laos is a 'landlocked country in southeast Asia between Thailand and Vietnam' with a population of 4.7 million. Hank responds, 'So, are you Chinese or Japanese?'
4. Peggy Hill, in her infinite wisdom, inexplicably exclaims that 'there are 72 words for 'rice' in the Chinese language'. However, according to Peggy, sadly there is no word for what in Chinese?

Answer: Friend

Of course, Peggy is completely inaccurate, as she usually is when she gives 'factual' information. To make matters worse, what does Chinese have to do with the situation anyway?

Peggy is very excited to meet Kahn and his family, nonetheless, because, according to Peggy, it's like having an exotic experience in a foreign land, but without the diarrhea or the threat of being jailed for her pro-democracy beliefs.
5. When Kahn comes over to the Hill house with his family, we are officially introduced to his wife and daughter. What is his daughter's name?

Answer: Kahn, Jr.

According to Kahn, Jr., aka Connie, her father always wanted a boy. This may explain why she carries her father's name. The other explanation is simply that Kahn is *that* arrogant!
6. What dessert specialty does Peggy make for Kahn's family, a specialty that Kahn's wife Minh is able to duplicate without a recipe?

Answer: Brown Betty

Brown Betty is a baked pudding made with fruit, or in this case, specifically with apples. Minh is able to duplicate Peggy's secret family recipe, and indeed to improve on it by adding nutmeg.
7. We learn in this episode the origins of Peggy's family. They came to Texas from which other state of the western U.S.?

Answer: Montana

Hank pokes fun at Peggy about her Montana origins, claiming that she pronounced 'soda pop' as 'sody pop' when she first arrived in Arlen. It also amused Hank that Peggy used to think 93 degrees in the shade was hot.
8. The Hill's dog is named Lady Bird. What is the extremely imaginative name of Kahn's family's dog?

Answer: Doggie

Connie introduces her dog as 'Doggie'. Doggie takes a strong liking to Lady Bird, too strong for Hank Hill's taste. Kahn calls Lady Bird a 'slut' after some unusual activity between the two dogs.
9. Hank Hill becomes enamored with Kahn's cooking style and skills when he discovers that Kahn only uses propane.

Answer: False

In fact, Kahn uses mesquite on his grill. Hank is very skeptical, but is won over by the delicious flavor of Kahn's grilled burgers.
10. Which character does not eat any burgers at Kahn's outdoor party because he suspects that the burgers were made from dog meat?

Answer: Dale

Dale, being the paranoid fellow that he is, imagines that the burgers were made from Doggie, who has turned up missing. It turns out that Connie and Bobby inadvertently let Doggie and Lady Bird loose. The entire mix-up is cleared up when the two dogs return unscathed.
