Answer: 1963

'Let's Make a Deal' debuted December 30, 1963 at 2 p.m. on NBC. The show moved to ABC on December 30, 1968, occupying the same 1:30 time slot it had on NBC.
2. What was the prize called that you didn't want?

Answer: Zonk

'Let's Make a Deal' gave away an estimated 10,000 zonks during its first run, but because of the network rules, those prizes had to be honored. The contestants signed a form and were given another prize in place of the giant lollipop Jay Stewart was sucking on.
3. Who was the host?

Answer: Monty Hall

Hosted by Hall (who had previously run several local New York shows and Heatter-Quigley's 'Video Village').
4. How many people sat on the trading floor?

Answer: 33

Hall would enter the trading floor, filled with 33 people in costumes chosen before the program taped.
5. How many doors could they chose from in the end game?

Answer: 3

There were 3 doors behind these doors where prizes of greater value. The contestant would pick the doors and then the host would show the door with the lowest priced prize first.
6. In the beginning, did people come in with costumes on?

Answer: No

They originally wore simply street clothes. Then one person came in with a sign and started the whole thing. The network execs didn't want it but the writers did and the rest is history.

Answer: 2

They always picked two of the original contestants. By asking if they wanted to give up their stuff they won for a chance at the big deal. Sometimes it took four or five people asked to find people who wanted to gamble.

Answer: Carol Merrill

She was the only model. She would stand by the prizes or would be shown inside the car.
9. Who was the guy that sat on the big tricycle?

Answer: Jay Stewart

He was also the announcer and he came out with the big boxes in the pricing games.
