First Virgilia was charged with the murder of a soldier when she put a clamp on his bleeding leg. Clearly the soldier loosened his clamp causing him to bleed to death. Nurse Dix accused her of the soldier's murder, causing Virgilia to lose it. She shoved the nurse so hard that Virgilia thought she was dead. Virgilia begged for Congressman Greene's help and offered herself as payment.

The Congressman used her until he said he made the charges go away a long time ago. Virgilia raised her gun and shot him at least three times.

Although he deserved it, nowadays she would have been found guilty by mental disease or defect.

Salem Jones tried to assault Semiramis who was rescued by Brett, who began to be assaulted by Salem Jones. Billy leapt off a short brick wall and began fighting with Salem Jones. They struggled for a while until Salem Jones stood above Billy aiming a gun at him. Then the next sound was a gunshot and Brett was the trigger woman.

Orry carried his mother, who was unconscious. He kept talking to her, telling her to hold on. He said, "Madeline had a baby, Mama. You're a grandmother, Mama." Orry, seeing his mother was dead, cried and screamed.
