Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 'Cured', a small group of infamous historical characters were onboard a research centre. What was the centre aiming to 'cure'?

Answer: Evil

The Red Dwarf crew came across a series of cryo-chambers on the research station. They apparently showed that people like Hitler and Vlad the Impaler had been cured of 'evil'. Rupert Murdoch, American media mogul, was 'not responding to treatment'. It turned out that the chambers were empty: the historical figures entered the room and invited them to dinner.
2. Which of the historical figures in 'Cured' upset the Cat because she wasn't attracted to him?

Answer: Valeria Messalina

After hearing about Valeria Messalina's past, the Cat assumed that she would be interested in him. She was a Roman emporer's wife, but gained a reputation for being promiscuous. The Cat told her that even though he'd be hard to resist, he wasn't interested in her. It crushed his hugely inflated ego when she revealed she wasn't attracted to him any way.
3. Which member of the Red Dwarf crew is 'freed' in in 'Siliconia'?

Answer: Kryten

Starbug was abducted by a ship full of mechanoids. Rimmer, Lister, and the Cat were taken away to a laboratory, while Kryten was taken to Deck 12. The mechanoids had broken their programming and were liberating other mechanoids from their humanoid captors. Lister, Rimmer, and the Cat were given new, mechanoid bodies.
4. Which of these was NOT one of the tasks that Rimmer, Lister, and the Cat had to do in 'Siliconia'?

Answer: Fix drive plates

The humanoids were given tasks that they had previously made Kryten do. Rimmer was punished with mopping the floor, Lister had to make sandwiches, and the Cat had to iron frilly shirts. They slowly lost their individual personalities and became more like mechanoids. Rimmer was the first to go!
5. Rimmer named a planet in 'Timewave'. What did he call it?

Answer: Planet Rimmer

This wasn't the first time that Rimmer had named an astral body after himself. This time, the S.S. Enconium was heading on a crash course for Planet Rimmer. The planet was rich in Helium-7, which was highly explosive. The boys from the Dwarf attempted to save the crew... and Planet Rimmer.
6. In 'Timewave', what was illegal on board the S.S. Enconium?

Answer: Criticism

Criticising was illegal on board the ship. The crew could express themselves however they wished and no one was allowed to say anything negative about them. The Red Dwarf crew got into trouble when they criticised the service in a restraunt. They were going to get off with a caution until the Cat criticised the police officer...
7. Who or what went on strike in 'Mechocracy'?

Answer: The vending machines

During an emergency on Red Dwarf, the vending machines became aware that they weren't on the list for evacuation. When the disaster had passed, all of the machines on the ship, including the skuttters, went on strike. Kryten (with Lister's help) and Rimmer (with the help of the Cat) competed for votes in an election to take control of the ship.

It was up to Talkie Toaster to save the day!
8. Whose birthday was it at the beginning of 'M-Corp'?

Answer: Lister

Kryten brought birthday breakfast to Lister. Unfortunately, he had a heart attack before he could start. Luckily it turned out to be indigestion! Even though the chest pain wasn't too serious, Lister's body was still in bad shape. A diet of curry and lager probably isn't the best lifestyle choice.
9. What was significant about the final scene in 'M-Corp'?

Answer: It echoed the first ever 'Red Dwarf' scene.

'Red Dwarf' first aired in 1988. It opened with Rimmer and Lister carrying out their maintenance duties. Lister was annoying Rimmer by singing and making silly noises. In 'M-Corp', Lister had to have part of his memory wiped. In the last scene, he was once again annoying Rimmer as he had done all the way back before the radiation leak.
10. In 'Skipper', who travelled through the multiverse to find a new home?

Answer: Rimmer

Kryten threw an apple to Rimmer, but the fruit that Rimmer caught was an orange. The Cat refused to get Lister coffee and biscuits, but instantaneously appeared with a mug and a plate of biscuits. The crew were experiencing an anomalous lesion - or something 'weird' - in which it really was opposite day. When the crew made a choice, the opposite decision would play out.

The anomaly allowed Rimmer to travel through the multiverse in search of a universe in which he could be happier. Like 'M-Corp', this episode harked back to the first episode, 'The End'.
