The writer of the newspaper tends to exaggerate in order to get people to read his newspaper. He once wrote a story about a space rock hitting a chicken, and the headline said 'Death From Above'. Lacey is depressed with his article about her renovating the restaurant because it states that she's ruining a local landmark.

Moose Jaw is smack-dab in the middle of Saskatchewan, and it's highly unlikely that they'd have an NBA franchise. The residents don't really like what Lacey's done with the café when it re-opens, but they decide to be polite about it. Hank decides to boycott the café and protest it.

Brent says that the Dog River Hotel is the finest drinking establishment in town. Brent gets his usual Rye and Water, while Lacey drinks imported beer to celebrate the occasion. Oscar also enters the hotel and claims that he enjoyed the movie, but Lacey and Brent prove that he never actually watched it.

Oscar ends up taking apart the TV in order to hook up the VCR, but Emma shows him how the red, yellow, and white cords, fit into the TV. He says that he didn't understand it because it was a Japanese model, and he's not into the whole 'plug thing'.

After Hank's boycott, Lacey calls the restaurant 'The Ruby', and he accepts it. Oscar gets to watch Jaws, and Brent is angry that he won't be having anymore chili-cheese dogs, so he protests to bring back the dogs.
