"Scream Queens": The Pilot Episode Quiz

Answer: Amy had been helping Sophia deliver her baby.

The year was 1995 and Kappa Kappa Tau was throwing a party. We first saw Amy descending the stairs of her sorority house. She was holding her bloody hands away from her as if she was in disbelief. Amy soon found who she was looking for, her three sorority sisters. Bethany, the apparent leader of the sorority made a crude statement as to why she thought Amy's hands were bloody. Amy quickly told them it was not her blood. She told the sisters to follow her upstairs. Amy, Bethany, and Mandy all ran quickly to the upstairs bathroom.

Bethany and Mandy were shocked to see a bloody pledge laying in their bath tub. Sophia, the pledge had given birth to a baby. Bethany ran over and yelled at Sophia saying who said it was alright to give birth at their party. She told Sophia she was officially the worst Kappa Kappa Tau pledge ever. Sophia apologized telling the girls she didn't even know she was pregnant. She asked for some Gatorade so she could walk home. Bethany told her nobody at the party would want to see her in the state she was in. Bethany was more worried about ruining the party then Sophia and her child's well being.

Answer: Waterfalls

Coco, the sorority sister who did not follow the other sisters upstairs came into the bathroom. She told the girls "Waterfalls" was getting ready to come on. Coco then noticed Sophia and her baby. She was only able to focus on the baby for a few seconds. She told her sisters, "TLC" getting back quickly to the song that was going to be playing shortly. Bethany was clearly upset she may miss her jam. She told Amy, the only one concerned for Sophia and the baby to watch them. Bethany told her to give the baby some Mojito to calm it down.

Bethany, Mandy, and Coco all headed back downstairs to the party. The whole party was singing and dancing to the song. Bethany, who was dancing on a table and drinking screamed out, "Kappa" and everyone cheered. The girls finished their song and headed back upstairs.

"Waterfalls" was the third release off of the "CrazySexyCool" album for TLC. The song was a major hit for the trio. It was number one for seven consecutive weeks. It also garnered two Grammy nominations for the girls. The song dealt with taboo topics like drugs and HIV. T Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye all made up the members of this highly successful group.

Answer: Bartles and Jaymes

As the three sorority sisters entered the bathroom, Bethany announced she had a Bartles and Jaymes. The drink was intended for Amy for being a good babysitter. Amy was distraught because Sophia had died. Bethany asked her if she was sure and Amy said yes. She told the girls Sophia was stiff when she touched her and she tried to close her eyes. Amy told the girls she was unable to get Sophia' eyes to stay closed. Coco said she could not wear contacts because touching her eyeballs was gross. Coco was definitely the biggest air head of the four sisters.

Bartles and Jaymes is a distributor of wine coolers. The company was started in 1981 and featured several different flavors. My favorite flavors were pineapple and strawberry. The brand was made famous because of their commercials. It featured two older men in various scenarios. They would always end the commercials by saying," And thank you for your support ".

Answer: Chanel # 4 died from Meningitis.

The year is now 2015, we see Chanel waking up in her bed. She is telling us how she is the head of Kappa house. She is surrounded by her sisters who are showing her purses. Chanel states she doesn't know their names so she calls them all Chanel. She also states she is Chanel #1. Chanel proceeds to tell us she had four minions by one is gone. Chanel #4 had to go home because she was ill. She told #1 she had Meningitis. Chanel told her to stay, but #4 went home anyway. Chanel said #4 had died and she was right again. Chanel is always trying to add to her minions. She is successful in drafting one of her two attempts with pledge Hester.

Meningitis is an inflammation of the brain or spinal cord. It is often caused by bacteria or a virus. It can be life threatening. Wonder if Chanel #1 even knew what Meningitis is?

Answer: Ms. Bean

Chanel is absolutely horrid to Ms. Bean. Ms. Bean has been at Kappa for a long time now. She was there when the death of Sophia in the bath tub was covered up. We first see the maid cleaning up what Chanel described as bulimia puke. Ms. Bean is scrubbing away at the puke stained carpet. Chanel calls Ms. Bean "White Mammy" which Ms. Bean tells Chanel she can't call her that. Later on we see Ms. Bean cleaning a floor with a Barbie toothbrush. Chanel was the one who told her to use the tiny toothbrush.

As I stated earlier, Ms. Bean was there when Sophia died. She seemed to have more power back then. She was offering suggestions as to what to do with the body. One of her suggestions was to grind up the body into sausages. She said she could feed them to the Kappas. Ms. Bean is played by Jan Hoag. Jan has appeared in several television programs including "Married With Children" and "Murder, She Wrote". Jan was born in 1948 in Portland, Oregon.

Answer: Melanie hated Chanel because she was short.

Melanie Dorkess was the sitting president of Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. She was telling Chanel the reasons why she hated her. The top reason was because Chanel was short. She said short people were back stabbers. Melanie gave two examples of short people who could not be trusted; Napoleon Bonaparte and Paul Shaffer. Melanie also told Chanel that it bothered her Chanel thought she was the heir to Melanie's presidency. Melanie told Chanel she could deal with her built like a Thai lady boy, but not her sense of being next in charge.

Answer: Jada Pinkett Smith

Chanel had offered to spray tan Melanie because she had the machine all set up. Melanie insulted Chanel and kicked her out of her bedroom. Melanie told her sisters to make her look like Jada Pink Smith. The sister turned on the machine and started spraying Melanie. At first it was coming out the tanning solution, but suddenly the solution turned clear. Melanie started to scream in pain as the clear solution started to burn her skin. The solution that was coming out was now acid. The sisters ran out of Melanie's bedroom screaming in horror. Melanie found to her bedroom floor as her skin started burning. In the reflection of Melanie's eye, you could see the Red Devil.

Jada Pinkett Smith is an accomplished actress. She has starred in many of my favorite movies including "Scream 2" and more recently "Magic Mike XXL". Jada is married to Will Smith and the two have two children together.

Answer: They agreed to a three second hug and no eye contact

Gracie Gardner and her dad were driving off to take Gracie to college. The two were talking in the car and Gracie's dad, Wes was asking her not to join a sorority. Gracie told her dad her mom was in a sorority and this was a way to share an experience with her. Grace's mom had died in a fire when Gracie was very young. Gracie had every intention to pledge her mom's old sorority, Kappa.

Wes and Gracie arrived at her dorm and were moving her in. Gracie told her father it was time to say goodbye. She reminded him of their agreement on how to say goodbye. They would share a three second hug with no eye contact then Wes would leave. They did as agreed, but both were crying like babies when Wes left the room.

Answer: President of the United States

Gracie was crying like a baby when Zayday walked into their room. Zayday was telling Gracie that the bathroom was a nightmare. She told her someone had thrown up in the sink. Zayday asked Gracie if that was her dad who was walking down the hallway crying. Gracie and Zayday hit it off right away.

The girls went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Gracie told Zayday her mom had passed away. Zayday said she was raised by her grandmother. Zayday told Gracie she aspired to be the first black woman President of the United States. The two young women continued their conversation. Gracie revealed her plan to pledge Kappa Kappa Tau. She told Zayday she should pledge too. Zayday was against it until Gracie persuades her it would be good for her Presidential aspirations.

Answer: Ryan Murphy

Both Brad and Ryan sharing a writing and producers credit for the episode. However, Ryan was the first to direct in the series. Brad did direct the second episode entitled "Hellweek". Ryan has created some of my favorite television programs including "American Horror Story" and the short lived "The New Normal".

The pilot episode of "Scream Queens" debuted on September 22, 2015. It had over 4 million viewers. The show stars Emma Roberts as Chanel plus one of the greatest scream queens of all time, Jamie Lee Curtis. The show combines crude and cheesy humor with horror. In my sincere opinion, it is a perfect blend of entertainment.
