Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Homer was buying a gift for Maggie and said "It says it's for dogs, but she can't read". What was he holding in his hand?

Answer: toy pork chop

In the very first "Simpsons" full-length episode, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", Homer did not get his usual Christmas bonus from Mr. Burns and was too ashamed to tell Marge. He decided to do all of the Christmas shopping at the Circus of Values (where nothing cost more than $4.99). He also got pantyhose for Marge and pads of paper for Bart.
2. Who said, "There's only one fat guy who brings presents and his name ain't Santa"?

Answer: Bart

This was also from "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". Marge asked the kids if they'd finished writing their letters to Santa, and apparently Bart had realized that Homer was the one who bought all their gifts. He wrote a letter anyways and asked for a tattoo. Lisa asked for "A pony. A pony. A pony. A pony. Thank you." Marge told her that a pony wouldn't fit in Santa's sleigh.
3. After Homer and Marge found out Bart shoplifted at the Try N Save, Homer figured out a proper punishment for Bart: "First, he's grounded." ... "Third, absolutely no stealing for three months." What was second?

Answer: no egg nog

This was from the seventh season episode "Marge Be Not Proud". Earlier in the episode, Marge opened the refrigerator to find nothing but egg nog. Homer told her they had to enjoy it while they could, because after Christmas the government would take it away. He even poured some over his cereal.
4. "Hey kids, I made your favourite cookies! Christmas trees for the girls, and _________ _________ for Bart!" What did Marge make for Bart?

Answer: bloody spearheads

This was from season nine's "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace". The bloody spearheads were just Christmas trees turned upside down, with red icing instead of green.
5. "Hocus pocus! Mucus puke-us! My powers of deduction tell me you are getting a handmade sweater, possibly... _______". Bart predicted that Lisa's sweater would be what?

Answer: yellow

This was also from "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace". Lisa asked Marge to make Bart stop predicting presents, so Marge said "Bart, put down that yellow sweater!"
6. In "Skinner's Sense of Snow", the kids of Springfield Elementary got trapped at school due to a big snowstorm. Marge panicked and asked, "How will the kids get home?" Homer answered "I dunno. ________".

Answer: Internet?

In this season 12 episode, Homer and Ned rescued the kids by attaching Ned's roof to Ned's car. They hit a silo which spilled salt all over the ground and melted the snow. While the kids were trapped in the school, Skinner showed them a film about a "grinchy little character who tried to steal Christmas".

It was called "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't But Then Was" and was produced in 1938. After a while, Bart got tired of taking orders from a military-like Skinner and the kids took over.
7. In season eleven's "The Grift of the Magi", Funzo was the hot toy for the holiday. Bart noticed that it destroyed all the other toys and Lisa said it must have been programmed to do so. Bart replies "You mean like _______?" What else destroys the competition?

Answer: Microsoft

In this episode, Gary Coleman guest starred as himself and helped the Simpson family destroy all the Funzos in town. The funniest part of this episode had to be when Bart and Lisa sang carols on people's doorsteps while Homer broke into their houses from the back dressed as Santa to steal the Funzos from under the Christmas trees.
8. Who said this line? "Ho ho ho! Merry... uh...line?"

Answer: Homer

This was from the twelfth season episode "Homer vs. Dignity", in which Mr. Burns hired Homer to play pranks on people to earn extra cash. Homer started to feel bad and donated his ill-gotten money to buy presents for needy children and the owner of the department store hired him to play Santa in the parade.

He was rehearsing with Bart and after Bart told him the next line was "Christmas", Homer said, "What? Let me see that!"
9. Who said "Marge, you can save more souls with roller skates and Easy Bake ovens than you can with this two thousand page sleeping pill"?

Answer: Lovejoy

In the thirteenth season episode, "She of Little Faith", Lisa decided to become a Buddhist, and Marge, Ned Flanders and Rev. Lovejoy decided to try to win her back on the side of Christianity by using Christmas. In this quote, Lovejoy expressed his opinion that Christmas presents were more appealing than the Bible. They decided to begin "Operation X-Mas Remind of How Good is".
10. Who said "Alright, trash cookies!"?

Answer: Bart

As part of "Operation X-Mas Remind of How Good is" in "She of Little Faith", Marge made Christmas cookies to tempt Lisa, but threw them out since she was a Buddhist. Bart came along and ate all the cookies out of the trash, and also a dog food lid.
