Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jon Snow

Answer: Commands a retreat

As episode 5 opens, Jon Snow watches with discomfort as Queen Daenerys calmly commands her dragon to toast advisor Varys "the Spider" to death. "I don't have love here," she tells Jon, "I only have fear."

Daenerys on Drogon easily destroys all the Lannister fleet and weapons as well as the city gates. Jon is visibly relieved when the surrender bell rings.

Suddenly to his disbelief, Drogon takes to the skies and his Queen begins to torch the city. Carnage begins on the ground. Jon shouts, "NO!" but is unable to stop the slaughter of citizens and soldiers alike. Then he commands, "Fall back! Get out of the city! Fall back!" while Davos Seaworth helps him guide those still alive away from Daenerys and her dragon.

Christopher "Kit" Harington of London (Jon Snow) is descended from James I and Charles II of England. The stunning Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) is British. Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) is an Irishman. Conleth Seamus Eoin Croiston Hill (Varys) is Northern Irish, recipient of prestigious acting awards.
2. Qyburn

Answer: Killed by "The Mountain"

Qyburn, who brought Gregor Clegane "The Mountain That Rides" back from the dead in Frankenstein fashion, sees that the city is falling, so he takes the hand of Queen Cersei in order to lead her to safety. The Unsullied have breached the gates of the Red Keep, he tells her. She still believes the Red Keep can never fall.

On the stairs, "The Mountain" shields the Queen from falling rock, but then refuses Cersie's order to stay by her side. Qyburn steps in front of Gregor, saying, "Obey your Queen Ser Gregor!" Gregor picks up Qyburn and fizzles him out, smashed dead upon the stairs. This leaves Cersei alone, probably the only time in her life.

Englishman Anton Lesser (Qyburn) is a Shakespearean actor. Actress Lena Headey (Queen Cersei) was born in Bermuda and is a British citizen.
3. Gregor "The Mountain"

Answer: Shoved off castle tower

Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane was the personal guard of Queen Cersei, famed for his brutality and strength while serving the Lannisters. He held his brother Sandor's head in a fire when they were boys, disfiguring Sandor for life. He raped, murdered, crushed and cheated. Now Sandor is in King's Landing to take revenge.

Sandor stabs Gregor repeatedly. Sandor runs a sword and then a dagger clean through him. But Gregor is Undead, so he just pulls the weapons out. Gregor begins to beat, toss and bash Sandor, who laughs, perhaps realizing he isn't going to win without a sacrifice. Gregor finds himself shoved through the wall and he goes sailing off the tower into the sizzling inferno of flames below.

The Icelandic Hafpor Julius Bjornsson (Gregor, seasons 4-8) is a world champion strong man, 6'9" tall (206 cm). Scotsman Rory McCann (Sandor Clegane) is 6'6" (198 cm).
4. Sandor "The Hound"

Answer: Sacrifices self to kill Gregor

Sandor "The Hound" Clegane and Arya Stark enter the Lannister castle together, each bent on revenge. Fire and stones rain upon them. Sandor counsels Arya to give up her hatred, and live. He continues up the tower steps alone to confront Gregor.

Though a better fighter, he is unable to kill his zombie brother. Gregor gets the upper hand and begins beating Sandor bloody. Screaming with rage, Sandor rushes at the massive Gregor, forcing them both through the wall and off the castle tower. They fall together into the roaring flames far below.

Strongman Hafpor, who plays Gregor, weighs around 400 lbs (180-200 kg). So Sandor couldn't just push him off the tower. Sandor had rush at Gregor with his full weight, crashing them through the crumbling wall together.
5. Arya Stark

Answer: Rides a white horse

Arya announces at the city gate she is Arya Stark, come to kill the Queen. She and Sandor "The Hound" enter the castle, but he hears the dragon overhead, and turns to her saying, "Go home, girl. The fire will get her...(Cersei) is dead". Arya replies she intends to kill Cersei. "You think you've wanted revenge a long time?" Sandor yells. "I've been after it ALL my life. It's all I care about. And look at me. LOOK at me. You want to be like me? You come with me and you die here." Arya thanks Sandor for this counsel, and the friends part ways forever.

Outside Arya finds the entire city crumbling and burning, people running, burning to death, trying to hide, while the dragon sizzles the city with living fire. Arya is knocked out by falling debris, bloodied, and covered in ash. When she comes to ash falls like snow, the streets are blackened with dead corpses, yet there stands before her a terrified white horse, covered in blood and dirt. Arya calms it, and they gallop away.

The award-winning English actress Margaret Constance "Maisie" Williams (born 1997) made her acting debut in "Game of Thrones" as Arya Stark.
6. Cersei Lannister

Answer: Buried in rubble

Cersei Lannister comes to the balcony of the Red Keep, smug and confident of her victory over the Targaryen girl. Even when the fleet sizzles, the Golden Company fizzles and the enemy Unsullied breach the Keep gates, she denies it. When Qyburn is killed, and Gregor "The Mountain" abandons her, she makes her way down to where the Targaryens who built this castle left their dragon skulls. There she sees her twin brother and true love, Jaime. The cold composure she has maintained is shattered, and she cries out to him.

He leads her toward the secret exit to the beach, to sail her to Pentos, to safety. But the way is blocked with brick and rubble. She cries out, "I want our baby to live!" over and over. "Please don't let me die, Jaime! Not like this!" Yet she and her unborn child die, crushed and smothered by crashing stone, held tightly in Jaime's arms. Good-bye.
7. Jaime Lannister

Answer: Stabbed, buried in rubble

Jaime Lannister was captured by Queen Daenerys but his "imp" brother Tyrion sets him free. "You're going to go back to her. To die with her?" Tyrion asks Jaime. Jaime still thinks Cersei may win.

Tyrion is certain she will not. But if Jaime can get to her, he might convince her to surrender and leave the city, to start a new life in Essos with their unborn child. Tyrion arranges a boat be left at the beach below the castle. Tyrion is in tears, sharing that without his brother Jaime's love, he would never have survived childhood as a dwarf. Tyrion believes if he can save the million "innocent and not so innocent" lives in King's Landing, it will be worth his own life, should Daenerys execute him for freeing Jaime.

Jaime is forced down to the beach, where the pirate Euron Greyjoy attacks him. Greyjoy stabs him twice. Jaime thrusts his sword through Greyjoy, and stumbles into the castle. Though bleeding badly, he finds Cersei. She begs him to save her and their unborn baby, but he sees they are trapped. The castle is crashing in around them, seared by the dragon above. He caresses her face, saying, "Look at me, don't look away. Nothing else matters. Only us". He holds her close, as they are crushed and buried by stone and rock.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) is a Danish actor, producer and screenwriter. He is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and humanitarian. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) is an American, married with two children. Peter has "dwarfism", a disorder of bone growth. The actor is active in animal and human rights.
8. Euron Greyjoy

Answer: Stabbed by Jaime

Euron Greyjoy was on his ship, intent on killing a second dragon with the scorpion spears, when Drogon raced in to Blackwater Bay, the sun directly at his back. He torches the fleet. But Euron wades in from the sea and attacks the "Kingslayer" Jaime. Euron is powerful, and has two good hands, yet Jaime fights hard. "You fought well. For a cripple", Euron says. Just as it seems Euron has fatally wounded Jaime, Jaime gets hold of his sword and runs it through Euron. "Another King for you," Euron shouts as he is dying. "But I got you! I got you!" Good-bye "King" Euron.

Johan Philip "Pilou" Asbaek (Euron) is a Danish actor in film and TV, married with playwright Anna Bro.
9. Drogon

Answer: Dracarys!

Daenerys Targaryen rides Drogon, her only remaining "child", the largest of her dragons, into Blackwater Bay. He answers the command "Dracarys!" which means "breathe fire", sizzling the entire Ironborn fleet and all their scorpion weapons, then rising high to fry all the scorpions on the castle walls.

In a short time all threats to the dragon are destroyed. Daenerys settles Drogon on top of a building as the bell of surrender rings. But Drogon is suddenly back in the air, toasting and roasting everyone in sight, toppling buildings, setting fire to armies, making ash out of crowds of innocents.

He sizzles all of King's Landing. What fizzles is the warm connection Jon Snow and others once had with this dragon and its Mother. Drogon burned not only thousands of citizens, the Lannister armies, a fleet, an entire city and the ancient castle, but most of his bridges.
10. Grey Worm

Answer: Vengeful spearing frenzy

Grey Worm stood alert as his enemies threw down their swords, and the surrender bell rang. But when he sees Drogon take to the sky and begin raining down fire, Grey Worm's face twists in hatred, and he throws his spear into an unarmed soldier. After that he strikes out repeatedly, roaring and screaming, killing everyone in sight. Fizzled is the admiration we had for Grey Worm, the noble, disciplined free slave, true love of Missandei. Torgo Nudho in High Valyrian, who promised to protect Missandei's gentle people.

Actor Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) was born in 1990 in Bristol, England. He's also a songwriter, rapper and record producer. He married in 2018.
