Answer: Chakotay

Chakotay was able to make it onto the planet where the aliens existed. He woke up one of the sleeping aliens and showed them that he was willing to kill himself to save his crew by blowing up their hideaway. The aliens chose to let them go.

At first, the people on the planet are so taken with the Doctor's abilities they even make small holographic versions of him as souvenirs. He begins to get a bit overbearing with all the fame and belittles his crew mates. By the end of the episode he learns a valuable lesson about being humble.

B'Elanna had used her engineering genius to take a Cardassian missile and reprogram it to use against the Cardassians. As she was trying to disarm it, the ship which had a high level of artificial intelligence, engaged in a battle of wills with B'Elanna. Ultimately, she was able to shut it down and save the planet.
