The doctor, having discovered singing, decided to try singing opera. In "The Swarm" he built a holoprogram based on Puccini's "La Bohème" with a recreation of diva Giuseppina Pentangeli. Unfortunately, he recreated her temperament as well as her voice.

This quote was spoken by Tuvok to Janeway in "Scientific Method". The Srivani, a race normally invisible to the Voyager crew were conducting medical experiments on crew members, including Janeway. She had headaches, was unable to sleep and snapped at Tuvok about the casualness that crew members were exhibiting. His remark was an attempt to get her to relax a bit.

Perhaps taking a lesson from Quark, Tom Paris decided to start a lottery. By having people bet their replicator rations on the "radiogenic sweepstakes", guessing the radiogenic particle count at 1200 hours each day, the winner would get all the rations "minus a small handling fee for the bank, of course." Paris made some additions to the computer's vocal program to add to the excitement.

When Chakotay found out about it, in the episode "Meld", he confiscated all the rations and put Paris on report.
