Answer: Paperwork

Hank Landry, played by Beau Bridges, is the fifth commander of the Stargate program following General West, George Hammond, Elizabeth Weir and Jack O'Neill.
2. What is written on the box in which the Stargate is kept?

Answer: Langford

Professor Paul Langford was the archaeologist who discovered the Stargate in Giza in 1928. He is also the father of Catherine Langford who started the Stargate program.
3. Why does Daniel have his left leg amputated?

Answer: He gets frostbite

Daniel Jackson, played by Michael Shanks, loses his leg after getting frostbite from stepping in arctic sea water.

Shanks was unavailable to shoot in the arctic as he was working on other things. To explain his disappearance, writers added the disability to make Jackson unable to travel with the other.
