The topic for this episode of "The Cutting Edge" was Michael coming out of the closet to his high school students. Trevor and Laurel sat with Michael on the stage during this taping to express support for him, considering how some members got volatile over Michael.

Tanner and Mateo scuffled after Mateo confronted him over date raping Hayley. During the fight, a gun went off and Tanner was killed. The police ruled that Mateo acted in self-defense so he was not charged with a crime.
