Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. K is for this show about a delivery driver and his pretty wife. Can you name this sitcom set in a NY borough?

Answer: King of Queens

"King of Queens" ran on CBS from 1998-2007. Critics called it a modern-day take on the classic show "The Honeymooners", about a working class couple without kids, living in Brooklyn.
2. L is for this show starring Tim Roth, about a human lie detector. What Fox network show was this?

Answer: Lie to Me

"Lie to me" ran for three season on Fox starting in 1999. Tim Roth, an English actor who was highly praised for his work as Mr. Orange in the 1992 film "Resevoir Dogs", played Dr. Cal Lightman. Dr. Lightman and his colleagues could tell if people were lying by detecting the tiniest facial expressions.
3. M is for this show about private detectives who flirted constantly. What one-hour show starring Cybil Shepherd and Bruce Willis was this?

Answer: Moonlighting

"Moonlighting" offered one of the original flirtatious couples who you just wanted to get together already, and, when they finally did, the show tanked. Nonetheless, this show, which was a mix of comedy and drama, enjoyed several highly rated seasons starting in 1985 on ABC.
4. N is for this show about two lascivious cosmetic surgeons in Miami (who later moved to L.A.). N could also be for "nasty" for this show which covered all sorts of sinning. What FX show was this?

Answer: Nip/Tuck

"Nip/Tuck" ran on FX from 2003 to 2010. Doctors Sean McNamara and Christian Troy chased skirts constantly. Sean had more of a conscience than Christian, but neither will be tapped for humanitarian awards anytime soon.
5. O is for this sitcom which became a huge hit in the U.S. Set in Scranton, Pennsylvania, what show is this?

Answer: The Office

Anyone who watched American television between 2005 and 2013 probably saw "The Office". It had one of the first mockumentary formats, and quickly garnered big ratings. The show extended or created careers of many actors, including Steve Carrell, Rainn Wilson, Jon Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and Ed Helms.
6. P is for this lawyers-in-love drama from producer David E. Kelley. What Boston-based show was this?

Answer: The Practice

"The Practice" was a powerhouse of a show, being in the top ten during some of its run and earning 15 Emmy awards. Dylan McDermott starred as Bobby McDonnell, the senior partner, and Kelli Williams starred as Lindsay Dole, an attorney who originally specialized in Constitutional law. Jimmy Berluti, Eugene Young, and Helen Gamble were also major characters.

It went off the air in 2004 after eight seasons on ABC.
7. Q is for this time-travel show about Dr. Sam Beckett, who would travel trying to "put right what once went wrong." What show, starring Scott Bakula, was this?

Answer: Quantum Leap

"Quantum Leap" ran on NBC from 1989-1993 and was produced by Donald P. Bellisario. It's been rated as one of TV Guide's "Top Cult Shows Ever." Fans still miss it!
8. This is a real moldy oldie. R is for this half-hour show about high school teachers and students, often around hot topics of the day: the Vietnam war, civil rights, Watergate. What show was this?

Answer: Room 222

"Room 222" ran on NBC from 1969-1974 and focused on a high school American history teacher, Mr. Dixon. Many future stars came through the doors of Room 222, including Mark Hamill, Richard Dreyfuss, and Rob Reiner. If you got this one right, give yourself an extra pat on the back.
9. This is a little different, so please read carefully. S is for the only show in the list that did NOT play on HBO. Which show is that?

Answer: Snooki and JWoww

I don't have a lot to say about "Snooki & JWoww", a reality show on MTV. But "The Sopranos", "Six Feet Under" and "Sex and the City" earned over 30 Primetime Emmy awards together. Those shows consistently show up on lists of "Best TV Ever."
10. T is for another tricky one. T is for this show about an Italian-American young woman, Lydia Delucca, who dumped her long-term boyfriend and moved out of her parents' home in an attempt to better her future. Lydia was played by Heather Paige Kent, whose married named is Heather Dubrow. You may know Heather from "Real Housewives of Orange County". Much-loved veteran actors Paul Sorvino and Ellen Burstyn starred as her parents. What show was this?

Answer: That's Life

"That's Life" ran on CBS for two seasons starting in 2000. It took place in thinly-disguised New Jersey and some have speculated it was capitalizing on the popularity of HBO's "The Sopranos" which had the same setting. Four of the 36 total episodes never aired.
