Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jonathan Baker in "CHiPs"

Answer: Francis Poncherello

These characters were the focus of the police drama "CHiPs" (1977 - 83) which is an acronym for "California Highway Patrol". "Jon" (Larry Wilcox) and "Ponch" (Erik Estrada) were two motorcycle riding patrol officers who got into plenty of scrapes (some literal), humorous encounters and romance from time to time as they responded to various assistance calls.
2. Morgan O'Rourke in "F Troop"

Answer: Randolph Agarn

The military sit-com "F Troop" (1965 - 67) took place in the frontier outpost of Fort Courage in the years following the Civil War. When the series started, the fort was in the process of getting a new CO, Captain Wilton Parmenter (Ken Berry) who was also extremely naive and physically clumsy. Sergeant O' Rourke (Forrest Tucker) was running an illegal but highly profitable Native American souvenir business out of the fort with his partners, Corporal Agarn (Larry Storch) and the Hewkawi Indian chief, Wild Eagle (Frank de Kova).

The new captain was easily duped if he happened to stumble (sometimes literally) on O'Rourke's shenanigans.
3. Perry Mason in "Perry Mason"

Answer: Paul Drake

"Perry Mason" was along-running (1957 - 66) courtroom drama starring Raymond Burr as the rarely defeated trial lawyer. Of course, being a highly successful attorney, he required a competent staff. This included his efficient secretary, Della Street (Barbara Hale) and his own private investigator, Paul Drake (William Hopper).
4. Diana Prince in "Wonder Woman"

Answer: Steve Trevor

Diana Prince, better known as Wonder Woman, was personified by Lynda Carter on TV. Since Wonder Woman was ageless, she fought evil doers from World War 2 (season 1) and the 1970s (season 2) during the series run. Lyle Waggoner appeared as both Steve Trevor Senior (season 1) and Junior (season 2) and was always available to lend assistance.
5. Stuart McMillan in "McMillan and Wife"

Answer: Charles Enright

"McMillan and Wife" (1971 - 77) was a police drama that aired in rotation with "Columbo", "McCloud" and "Hec Ramsey" on NBC's "Sunday Mystery Movie". "Mac"(Rock Hudson) was a San Francisco police commissioner who was married to Sally (Susan Saint James), a much younger woman.

She frequently became involved in many of the cases Mac handled. Mac's dogged and ubiquitous aide was Sgt. (later Lt.) Charles "Charlie" Enright (John Schuck). Also on hand was the McMillan's house maid, Mildred (Nancy Walker), who was always ready with a wisecrack or two.
6. John Steed in "The Avengers"

Answer: Emma Peel

"The Avengers" was a syndicated British espionage series that aired in the U.S. from 1966 - 69. Although government agent John Steed (Patrick Macnee) had several female partners, Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) was arguably his most popular and best remembered. When Rigg left the series in 1968, she was replaced by Linda Thorson playing Steed's new partner, Tara King.
7. Harriman Nelson in "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"

Answer: Lee Crane

These characters were part of Irwin Allen's adventure series, "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", a motion picture of the same name brought to the small screen. Admiral Nelson (Richad Basehart) was the inventor/developer of the atomic submarine "Seaview" and was always aboard to see it operated at peak efficiency.

At Nelson's side was the intrepid commander of the sub, Capt. Crane (David Hedison). While the movie had a straight-forward plot of a mission to save the Earth from being roasted by the Van Allen belt gone haywire, the TV series had to have a new situation each week; some dealt with aliens, spies, mad scientists and assorted futuristic gadgets.
8. Stuart Bailey in "77 Sunset Strip"

Answer: Jeffrey Spencer

"77 Sunset Strip" centered on these two PIs, Stu Bailey (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.) and Jeff Spencer (Roger Smith). They ran their detective agency from the fictional address in Beverly Hills. Next door to the agency was a night club which had a hip, swinging parking attendant, Gerald "Kookie" Kookson (Edd Byrnes), who also wanted to become a detective and looked to these two gents for career advice.
9. Terrence O'Toole in "Ensign O'Toole"

Answer: Rex St. John

Ensign O'Toole (Dean Jones) appeared in this military sit-com which focused on the crew of the destroyer U.S.S. Appleby, and their activities on board and frequently on shore leave. O'Toole was a well-read and quick-thinking officer. Every episode of this one-season series required him to come up with an ingenious plan to get another officer or crewman out of various predicaments.

He shared his quarters with Lt. Rex St. John (Jack Mullaney), a girl chasing, sycophantic and somewhat bumbling fellow officer. Also aboard were, Lt. Cdr. Stoner (Jack Albertson), C.P.O. Nelson (Jay C. Flippen), and an assortment of regularly appearing crewmen. Captain Sweeney was never seen, but occasionally made announcements on the P.A. system.
10. Marshall Tracy in "Daktari"

Answer: Jack Dane

"Daktari" (1966 - 69) followed the adventures of Dr. Marsh Tracy (Marshall Thompson), a wildlife veterinarian who plied his trade at the Wameru animal rehab center in Africa where sick or injured wild animals received treatment. Dr. Tracy relied on his staff: assistant, Jack Dane (Yale Summers), his daughter, Paula (Cheryl Miller) and animal handler, Mike (Hari Rhodes). Dropping in from time to time was Officer Hedley (Hedley Mattingly), the local game warden. Two permanent animal residents of Wameru were Judy, a chimpanzee, and Clarence, a cross-eyed lion.
