Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which pair are the protagonists on "Bones" (2005)?

Answer: Booth and Brennan

Seeley Booth ('said' to be a relative of John Wilkes Booth) is an FBI agent and Temperance Brennan (formerly Joy Keenan) is a forensic anthropologist with the Jeffersonian. They work together solving crimes, and live together as husband and wife.
Marshall Eriksen and Lily Aldrin are from "How I Met Your Mother".
Jesse Katsopolis and Becky Donaldson were on "Full House".
Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski were featured on "Saved by the Bell".
2. Bob Newhart's first show set in Chicago, IL, featured which couple?

Answer: Bob and Emily Hartley

On "The Bob Newhart Show" (1972-1978), Bob played Chicago psychologist Bob Hartley married to Emily (Suzanne Pleshette). Bob gently dealt with wacky patients like Elliot Carlin and weird neighbors like Howard Borden.

The "Newhart" couple was Dick and Joanna Loudon in Vermont.
"Breaking Bad" had Walter and Skylar White as the protagonists.
"The Dick Van Dyke Show" featured Rob and Laura Petrie. ("Oh, Rob.")
3. On "Two and a Half Men", who played Charlie's neighbor and stalker, Rose?

Answer: Melanie Lynskey

Melanie Lynskey played Rose. She was Charlie Harper's Malibu neighbor, and was obsessed with Charlie on "Two and a Half Men" (2003-2011) until Charlie's untimely death. Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie, but the show went downhill from there.

All of the incorrect choices had continuing roles on the show:
Holland Taylor - Charlie's mother, Amber Tamblyn - Charlie's daughter, Courtney Thorne-Smith - Alan's girlfriend (though I never understood why).
4. On which show would you find Jackie Burkhardt and Michael Kelso?

Answer: That '70s Show

I could have asked about Eric and Donna from "That '70s Show" (1998-2006), but I chose the couple who also coupled in real life, i.e., Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. Jackie and Michael had an on-again, off-again romance on the show, Mila as the 'spoiled' Jackie and Ashton as the 'dumb' Kelso.

The short-lived "McCarthys" had Laurie Metcalf as Marjorie McCarthy (2014-2015). The even shorter-lived "Bad Teacher", April-July 2014, starred Ari Graynor (who?). "The Crazy Ones" had Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar (2013-2014).
5. On "Dawson's Creek," who played Joey Potter, the love interest of Dawson and Pacey?

Answer: Katie Holmes

Yes, on "Dawson's Creek" (1998-2003) it was Katie Holmes who played Joey, the love interest for both Dawson Leery (played by James Van Der Beek) and Pacey Witter (played by Joshua Jackson), on this coming-of-age series.

Michelle Williams was Jen Lindley.
Meredith Monroe played Andie McPhee.
Busy Philipps was Audrey Liddell.
6. Which of the following was NOT a couple on "The Big Bang Theory"?

Answer: Tony and Angela

Tony Micelli and Angela Bower were the couple on "Who's the Boss?" (1984-1992). Tony Danza played the former pro-baseball player who moved to Connecticut as a housekeeper to give his daughter, Sam, a better life. Judith Light played Angela, the high-powered advertising executive (pre-Don Draper) who lived with her son Jonathan, and was often visited by her nutty mother Mona, played by Katherine Helmond.
The other choices are all couples on "The Big Bang Theory".
7. The only married couple on "Gilligan's Island" was played by Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer. What were their names on the show?

Answer: Thurston and Lovey Howell

(1964-1967) Before you send me a correction notice, yes, it was Thurston Howell III played by Jim Backus who also was the voice of Mr. Quincy Magoo. Thurston and Lovey were 'the one percent' before that term was coined. They managed to live together with Gilligan and the other 'lesser beings' as castaways from their "three hour tour".
Trixie and Ed appeared on "The Honeymooners".
"Topper" featured the ghostly couple, George and Marion Kirby.
"Green Acres" had Oliver and Lisa Douglas moving from NY to Hooterville.
8. I have mixed up three couples - which is the only correct couple?

Answer: Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper

"The Wonder Years" (1988-1993) showed Fred Savage and Danica McKellar as Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper, a 'coming-of-age' story set during the turbulent 1960s and 1970s (sort of a smart, adolescent "Forrest Gump").

Ok, let's put the wrong couples with their right people -
Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) married Criss Chros (James Marsden) on "30 Rock".
Lorelei Gilmore went with Luke Danes on "The Gilmore Girls".
Leslie Knope belongs with Ben Wyatt on "Parks and Recreation".
9. On which show would you find Maddie Hayes and David Addison?

Answer: Moonlighting

"Moonlighting" (1985-1989) had Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis playing the
on-again, off-again couple solving crimes at the Blue Moon Detective Agency. Cybill played Maddie, a former model, who had all her money swindled by her accountant, so she had to support herself with the detective agency, while P.I. David cracked the smart aleck jokes.
"Roseanne" featured David Healy and Darlene Conner.
"The O.C." had Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts.
"C.S.I." coupled Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle.
10. Where would you find the unlikely TV twosome of Stuart Markowitz and Ann Kelsey?

Answer: L.A. Law

"L.A. Law" (1986-1994) featured real life married couple Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry as Los Angeles attorneys working for the prestigious law firm of McKenzie and Brackman. The firm handled many controversial cases, always attempting to obtain justice within the 50 minute hour.

Frank Furillo and Joyce Davenport were the couple on "Hill Street Blues".
Bobby Donnell and Lindsay Dole had a relationship on "The Practice".
"Boston Legal" had Denny Crane in love with Denny Crane.
