"The Amazing Race 4" [3] Trivia Quiz

Answer: Amsterdam

Departing from the Chateau des Alpilles in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France in the middle of the night, teams were instructed to fly from Marseille to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Once there, teams would need to locate the Magere Brug, a bridge crossing the Amstel River in the middle of the city. Once teams arrived at this skinny, white bridge, they would be able to continue on with Leg 5 in Holland. Teams connected through London or Paris in order to make their connections to Amsterdam, but inevitably, all eight remaining teams arrived in the morning and early afternoon.

Answer: '15 Feet'

Once at the Magere Brug, teams were told to hop into one of the marked motorboats nearby and travel up the Amstel River to the Scheepvaart Museum where they would able to find the next route marker outside. This route marker contained the Detour for this leg of the race, a choice between '500 Kilograms' or '15 Feet'.

In '500 Kilograms', teams needed to travel thirty miles to a cheese market, don wooden shoes, and transport cheese to a wooden scale using a wooden carrying system. Once 500 kilograms had been weighed out exact, they would be able to move on. Reichen and Chip and Steve and Dave completed this task. Meanwhile, in '15 Feet', teams needed to travel twelve miles to a ranch to search a fifteen foot pile of cow manure for their clue.

The remaining four teams participating completed this task.

Answer: Millie and Chuck

Rather than search for a museum by boat in the midst of Amsterdam's canals, Millie and Chuck decided to pursue the Fast Forward by heading north of Amsterdam to find the Molen Van Sloten Windmill. Once there both of them needed to be strapped onto the spinning structure and take ten revolutions around the windmill. Once this was completed, they were able to make their way directly to the Pit Stop.
Meanwhile, the rest of the teams made their way to the town of Monnickendam, Netherlands.

Answer: Eels

Once team members had made their way to the town of Monnickendam, they needed to locate a route marker at the statue known as 'The Smoker'. This contained the Road Block clue for this leg of the race. In the Road Block, team members participating needed to hop into a nearby boats and collect twenty-five eels, one at a time, with their bare hands, placing them into a marked container. Once all twenty-five were confirmed by the fisherman nearby, they would be able to continue on. Al, Jon, Reichen, Sheree, David, Tian, and Steve all completed this slimy Road Block task.

Answer: Steve and Dave

After the eel Road Block, teams were instructed to drive directly to the Pit Stop, the Kastel Muiderslot in Muiden, Netherlands where they would be able to check in outside. Millie and Chuck, who completed the Fast Forward task for this leg of the race, were the first to arrive.

As a result, they won a Mexican cruise vacation from Royal Caribbean. Unfortunately, underdogs Steve and Dave, plagued by physical troubles throughout the race, were unable to catch up to the others and became the fifth team to be eliminated from the race.

Answer: Mumbai

In the beginning of leg 6, teams departed from Kastel Muiderslot in The Netherlands and were instructed to make their way by plane from Amsterdam thousands of miles to Mumbai, India. Once in India, teams would need to find the Bollywood hub known as Film City and reach Gate 1 to find their next route marker. Reichen and Chip were the only partners to take a non-direct route to India (stopping in Milan, Italy).

As a result, while most teams arrived near midnight (thirteen hours later) the duo showed up in India with a forty minute lead.

Answer: Studio 10

Once teams arrived at Gate 1 in Film City, they were instructed to hop on bikes and ride around "Bollywood" to find Studio 10. Once inside, the next clue box would be available to them. Unfortunately, since everyone arrived in the middle of the night, they were required to wait nine hours until the studio was open for business. Once teams were allowed inside during a Bollywood choreography session, they were able to claim their Detour clue for this leg of the race.

Answer: Train

For the Detour in this leg of the race, teams needed to choose between 'Suds' and 'Duds'. In 'Suds', teams needed to head to an outdoor washing station and wash a bag of clothes until they found one with the destination written on the fabric. On the other hand, in 'Duds', teams needed to find a single sari shop in the city and search amongst hundreds of saris to find one with the destination written on the fabric.

In order to reach both Detour tasks, teams needed to make their way to the locations on the city train, a trying ordeal for many of the teams. All of the teams except Jon and Al completed 'Suds'.

Answer: Chip

After the Detour, teams were told by their piece of clothing to head to Sassoon Docks near the waterfront of Mumbai to find Indo Universal Engineering. Out front, teams found their next clue box and a Road Block task. For this Road Block, team members needed to find a vendor in the nearby fish market and pop twenty fish into a basket. Once they carried the twenty fish back to the market owner (on their heads or shoulders), they would receive their next clue. Chip, Jeff, Jon, Chuck, Jon, Tian, and Monica all finished this task.

Answer: Monica and Sheree

After the Road Block task in Leg 6, teams were told to make their way to the sixth Pit Stop of the race, the Gateway of India in Mumbai. David and Jeff, who were a minute ahead of Chip and Reichen, placed first in this leg of the race and won an Alaskan cruise from Royal Caribbean. Monica and Sheree, who fell behind early on in the leg, were unable to regain their ground and fell into seventh place.

As a result, the team became the sixth eliminated from the race.
