Teams flew from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Sao Paulo, Brazil and then to Johannesburg, South Africa to find their clues waiting for them inside marked cars outside the airport. All of the teams boarded and arrived on the same flight.

Answer: Ray and Deana

In this Fast Forward, the team completing the task had to walk on a narrow bridge across a large, hollow water tower near Johannesburg, South Africa to receive their clue that would lead them directly to the pit stop. Rob and Amber also attempted to receive the Fast Forward clue, but Ray and Deana completed the task first, and arrived at the pit stop nearby in first place. For arriving in first place, Ray and Deana won two Toyota Rad 4s.

Because Rob and Amber attempted to receive the Fast Forward clue, they decided that their only hope was to go to the closer task. They found their way with the help of hospital workers who recognized them from "Survivor".
In the "Tribes" Detour task, teams had to deliver five items to separate native tribes on one reserve. In the other Detour task called "Tunnels", teams had to navigate through a labyrinth of underground caves to find a clue. Rob and Amber and Lynn and Alex were the only teams who completed the "Tribes" task.

In this Road Block, teams had to navigate through a large market to find items for a local orphanage. Their shopping lists included a toy, a backpack, t-shirts, diapers, and a blanket. Once the team member had collected the items, they were to bring the items to a group of people that would tally up their total and bag the items. Then, teams would take them to the local orphanage where they would receive a clue telling them to go to the pit stop.
Again, Amber received help from a local resident who remembered seeing Amber and Boston Rob on "Survivor".

Answer: Meredith and Gretchen

After Gretchen injured herself during the "Tunnels" Detour task, she and Meredith struggled to keep up to the rest of the competitors. They both arrived at the pit stop in last place, but luckily, they arrived during a non-elimination leg of the race. The bad news was that they would start the leg with no cash and nothing but their passports and the clothes they were wearing.

Teams departed from the fifth pit stop, and took two separate lion-feeding tours early the next morning. After receiving their clues, teams then flew to Botswana.

Answer: Aardvark

To get to the clue from the Botswana airport, teams had to take a train and then a bus ride to the location. After receiving the clue, one member of each team was required to perform a Road Block. This Road Block had teams throwing spears at moving targets. Once the person's spear stuck into the target, they would be able to receive their next clue.

Answer: Brian and Greg

When Greg and Brian's car crashed, all of the other teams moved ahead of them, but in the end, Brian and Greg received a replacement car, and they were able to catch up to the other teams. They placed sixth in this leg of the race.

Answer: Rob and Amber

In the "Water" task, team members needed to fill twelve ostrich eggs with water that they had to suck out of the ground. Once they were filled, they needed to bury the eggs to cool the water. Rob and Amber and Brian and Greg completed this task.
In the "Food" task, teams needed to fill a basket with crushed corn. They were initially given full kernels, but they had to crush them into a powder to fill the basket to a certain point.

Answer: Ray and Deana

In a tight footrace to the pit stop, Brian and Greg passed Ray and Deana and were saved from elimination. Although Ray and Deana's Fast Forward gave them an eight hour lead, it wasn't enough to prevent them from arriving in last place.
