Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Teams remained in Indonesia in Leg 3 of the race.

Answer: True

Teams departed from the Monas National Monument in Jakarta, Indonesia in the middle of the night and were told to travel more than nine hundred miles by plane to the island of Bali in Indonesia. Once there, teams needed to locate Kuta Beach, where their next clue box would be waiting. All nine teams were scheduled on the same AirAsia flight to Denpasar on the island of Bali, which departed nearly six hours after teams arrived at the airport.
2. During the Road Block of Leg 3, what tiny souvenir did teams need to find?

Answer: A surfboard

At Kuta Beach, teams obtained their Road Block for Leg 3. This Road Block rfequired that one team member make their way down Kuta Beach to marked plots in the sand. Once there, that teammate would need to dig down forty centimetres at a marked plot in order to find a small surfboard souvenir. Once they handed the figurine to a nearby surfer, they could receive their next clue.

After 1.5 hours, Andy and Laura and Mardy and Marsio dropped out, instead opting for a four hour time penalty, while the others dug away. Aubrey and Jacqueline dropped out at 2 hours.

The first surfboard was found at the 2 hour mark by Sahil and Prashant. Soon after, Zabrina and Joe Jer and Andrew and Syeon took their penalty at the 4 hour mark.
3. In Leg 3, teams needed to search a forest filled with two hundred clues for their 'correct information'. How many clue envelopes actually contained clues?

Answer: Ten

After the Road Block, teams needed to navigate the streets of Bali to find an internet cafe known as Internet Outpost. Once there, teams could log onto MSN and obtain their clue either from an attendant or by printing it off manually. Teams then needed to travel to drive thirty-three miles to the Ubud Monkey Forest, home to hundreds of monkeys.

Here, they needed to navigate the forest to find one of ten clues hidden in two hundred envelopes scattered amongst the trees.
4. During the Detour of Leg 3, how many teams chose to complete the 'Dry' task?

Answer: Five

At the Ubud Monkey Forest, teams obtained the Detour, giving them a choice between 'Wet' and 'Dry'. In 'Wet', teams needed to travel to a nearby rainforest and take a trail to a river inside. Once there, they would need to white-water raft down a six kilometer course.

In 'Dry', teams needed to ride an elephant at and Elephant Safari Park over a three kilometre course. While four teams completed the 'Wet' task, five opted for 'Dry'.
5. Which team was eliminated in Leg 3?

Answer: Aubrey and Jacqueline

After the Detour, teams needed to travel to the Uluwatu Caves, where they could receive another clue. Once there, teams were instructed to head to the Pit Stop, the Tanah Lot Temple. Although Zabrina and Joe Jer arrived at the Pit Stop first, the four hour penalty set them back and Howard and Sahran placed first for the third leg winning themselves new Sony camcorders. Unable to overcome their penalty, Jacqueline and Aubrey were eliminated in this leg.
6. In Leg 4, teams flew to which Australian city?

Answer: Sydney

At 2:31 am, the first team to arrive at the Pit Stop without a penalty was Howard and Sahran. They were instructed to head out from Tanah Lot Temple in Bali, Indonesia and fly to Sydney, Australia. Once there, teams needed to take a taxi to Dawes Point on the Sydney waterfront to find their next clue. Four teams departed from Denpasar's Tanah Lot Temple with a four hour time penalty due to their failure to complete the Road Block in Leg 3. All eight teams took the same flights from Bali, to Singapore, to Sydney.
7. How many teams completed the 'Elevation' Detour task of Leg 4?

Answer: Four

At Dawes Point, teams obtained their Detour clues. In 'Elevation', teams needed to scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Once at the top, teams could obtain their next clue. It is interesting to note that the same task was used in the second season of the North American "Amazing Race", though it wasn't a Detour task.

In 'Crustacean', teams needed to travel to Doyle's at the Quay, a Sydney seafood restaurant located on the water's edge. Once there, they needed to shell fourteen kilograms of prawns to obtain their next clue.
8. In Leg 4, teams needed to record locals singing which song?

Answer: Click Goes the Shears

After the Detour task, teams needed to make their way on foot to the base of Mrs. Macquarie's Chair in Sydney. Here, teams were instructed to go to the World Square Shopping Center and Sony Central inside. Using Sony Handycams, teams were required to film a local singing the song "Click Goes the Shears". Once finished, they needed to return to the store and play their video on a television. If the tune was correct, they could obtain their next clue.
9. Which team was first to arrive at the Road Block in Leg 4?

Answer: Sandy and Francesca

After filming locals, teams needed to take a ferry across Sydney Harbour to the suburb of Manly, nearly eleven kilometers away. Once there, teams could find their next clue at Oceanworld. This clue turned out to be a Road Block which required that one team member dive into a tank full of sharks, sting rays, and other dangerous sea creatures.

This task was used in the fourth season of the North American "Amazing Race" as a Road Block.
10. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in Leg 4?

Answer: Howard and Sahran

After the Road Block, teams were instructed to take a ferry to the Circular Quay station and then take a water taxi to the Tall Bounty located in Sydney Harbour. This ship held the fourth Pit Stop. Although they were fourth to the Road Block, Andrew and Syeon were first to arrive at the Pit Stop.

The last team to arrive was Howard and Sahran though Leg 4 was a pre-determined non-elimination leg. They also incurred a four hour penalty because Howard quit the diving Road Block.
