Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 6, teams remained in the country containing their previous Pit Stop.

Answer: True

In Leg 5, teams raced from New Zealand to Japan and then onward to Busan, South Korea. Their Pit Stop was Beomeosa Temple in Busan. For Leg 6, teams remained in South Korea from start to finish. Leaving the Pit Stop in the middle of the morning, teams were told to drive themselves into rural South Korea, specifically the Seoil Soybean Farm in the town of Anseong, about eighty kilometers south of Seoul.

Here, teams would find their Road Block task.
2. For the Road Block task in Leg 6, teams needed to search through jars of what crop?

Answer: Soybeans

For the Road Block, teams needed to head into the soybean farm in Anseong and one member had to search through fifteen hundred jars of soybeans scattered throughout the grounds to find one of only six containing a clue. Rovilson, Vanessa, Collin, Natasha, Diane, and Terri completed this methodical task. One of these canisters also contained a Standard Chartered Bank reward of fifty dollars to be used by the team who could secure it; Collin located it.
3. In Leg 6, teams needed to visit Woncheon Resort and ride in paddleboats shaped like which of these?

Answer: Swans

After finishing the Road Block task in Anseong, teams needed to drive themselves closer to Seoul. Making their way to the amusement grounds of the Woncheon Resort in Suwon, teams had to locate a marked swan paddleboat (one of six) on the dock containing a race flag.

Then they had to work together to paddle it out into the nearby lake where they would find a buoy holding their next clue sending them on another drive, this time to the Korean Folk Village in Yongin.
4. In the 'Too Ho' Detour task in Leg 6, how many shots did teams need to bag to receive their next clue?

Answer: Three

Arriving in Yongin, teams received their Detour for this leg of the race. It was a choice between 'Too Heavy' and 'Too Ho', both of which were in the cultural village. In 'Too Heavy', teams needed to deliver thirty wooden logs to a nearby house in the village using a special device. Adrian and Collin, Paula and Natasha, and Ann and Diane completed this In 'Too Ho', teams had to take turns to toss three bamboo sticks into a metal canister from four meters away. With accuracy, teams would jet ahead. Marc and Rovilson, Paula and Vanessa, and Terri and Henry did this.
5. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in Leg 6?

Answer: Terri and Henry

After the Detour task, teams needed to drive themselves into South Korea's capital city, Seoul, where they would be able to check into the sixth Pit Stop of the race in front of the Peace Plaza in the Olympic Park. The first team to arrive, yet again, was Marc and Rovilson (though Adrian and Collin were very close behind).

This marked their fifth consecutive victory in the race. The last team to arrive at the Pit Stop, after falling behind early on in the leg (and arguing every moment thereafter), was Terri and Henry. Luckily, they did not face elimination.

Instead, they were forced to give over all of their money; they would not start with any cash in the next leg.
6. In Leg 7, teams needed to fly to Europe to visit an opera house in which city?

Answer: Frankfurt

Departing from the Seoul Peace Plaza, teams were told that they would need to catch a flight to the city of Frankfurt, Germany over eight thousand miles east into Europe. As they left early in the morning, teams figured out that they could take either direct or connecting flights arriving the next day. Due to oversold flights, a number of the teams were split up over several flights and several hours; Terri and Henry wouldn't land in Frankfurt until the next day as their flight would connect through Hong Kong.

When they arrived, teams needed to take a taxi to the Old Opera House in Frankfurt to find a clue box.
7. In Leg 7, teams took which of the following modes of transportation to Prague, Czech Republic?

Answer: Train

As soon as teams arrived in Germany they were told to leave it; the clue at the Old Opera House in Frankfurt informed teams that they needed to board a train sending them to the city of Prague in the Czech Republic to find their clue in a 'holey' statue standing on the Charles Bridge, over four hundred kilometers from their current location.

This forced many teams to bunch up in Frankfurt-- only one did not make the first train ride. When they reached this clue, teams needed to head to a little puppet shop on Karlova Street opening at 11:00am to receive another clue.
8. In the Road Block task in Leg 7 (in Prague), team members had to dress in princess clothing.

Answer: False

After waiting for the puppet shop to open on Karlova Street, teams had to make their way on foot to Kinsky Palace in the city's Old Town Square to find the next route marker. Here, one member of each team had to complete a Road Block task in which they had to rescue a traditional damsel in distress. Dressing in a suit of armor they would race through the square to find a princess on an upper balcony.

They would need to attach a key to a long rope for her to hoist upward and then she would return a clue to them. Anne, Adrian, Paula, Ann, Pamela, and Henry completed this task.
9. In the 'Bow' Detour task in Leg 7 in the Czech Republic, teams used which of these?

Answer: Crossbow

After the Road Block, teams had to take the train to the town of Beroun to find a marked car and drive themselves to the town square. Here, they would need to find a person with a Nokia phone featuring their picture, then watch a video message from a friend or family member for their next clue.

This was the Detour. In this task, they drove to the town of Nizbor for either 'Bow' or 'Blow'. In 'Blow', teams had to cut a design on the bottom of a glass cup, one per teammate. In 'Bow', they had to use a crossbow to hit a coloured circle on a target-- each member had to do this. Marc and Rovilson, Adrian and Collin, Ann and Diane, Paula and Natasha, and Terri and Henry completed 'Bow'. Paula and Natasha finished 'Blow'.
10. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in the Czech Republic in Leg 7?

Answer: Terri and Henry

After the Detour, teams had to drive themselves thirty kilometers south of Prague to find their next Pit Stop for the race, Karlstejn Castle. Although the first position was a race between the leading two teams it was Marc and Rovilson who, yet again, took the victory.

This was their sixth consecutive win for the race and they each received a $5,000 prepaid credit card from Standard Chartered Bank. Terri and Henry, unable to catch up to any of the teams in this leg, arrived at the Pit Stop in last place for a second time. Luckily (again) they arrived on another non-elimination leg.

As such they were 'Marked for Elimination'. If they did not arrive at the Pit Stop in first in the next leg the would incur a thirty-minute penalty upon arriving.
