The Frenchwoman had killed all the people she was stranded with, family and all.

Kate killed the man she loved and recovered a briefcase, lying about its contents. There was a toy plane inside that must have had some relation to her love.

Locke is the island's resident hunter and spooky philosopher. He was formally a paraplegic, until the plane crash, that is. After the crash he could then walk. He is becoming a mentor to Walt, used to help Boone, and has come face-to-face with the monster. Locke is the one (with Boone's help) who found the hatch.

Hurley is the jokester and entertainer of the island. He built a golf course to boost the island morale. He gets queasy near blood and accidentally stepped on a sea urchin.

Claire was dumped by her boyfriend after she found out she was pregnant and was warned by a psychic that no one else should raise her child or something bad would happen. She was kidnapped by Ethan and was missing for a week. When Locke and Boone found her, she had amnesia and could not remember anything that happened after the plane crash. Charlie helped her to regain her memory, and Kate helped her deliver the baby. Claire has been taking everything very well, considering Rousseau almost "traded" her baby to get her own baby back from the others.
