On the first date, things originally don't appear to be going well as Howard can't find anything Bernadette likes. However, after a phone call from his mother, Howard gets upset. Bernadette relates as she too has an overbearing mother and a discussion about their mothers is what first bonds Howard and Bernadette.

For a time, Howard fears that his Jewish mother will not accept Bernadette as Howard's wife because she is Catholic. His fears appear confirmed when he finally tells his mother that he and Bernadette are getting married. At that moment, Howard's mother collapses off the toilet and falls unconscious.

The timing makes Howard believe that she had a heart attack because of Howard's news. In reality, Howard's mom just had food poisoning from the restaurant where she and Bernadette ate.

After their third date, Bernadette surprises Howard by saying that three dates means sex, but she wants to know if he's looking for a relationship or just a one-night stand. Howard doesn't know, after years of being shot down instantly every time he talked to a woman, he wanted a relationship with ANY woman, but on the other hand part of him wanted a relationship with someone much prettier. Eventually, a bathtub fantasy with Katee Sackhoff convinces him to stay with Bernadette.

Bernadette communicates a heavy interest in physics to the guys, so Leonard invites Bernadette to his lab to watch an experiment. Howard then becomes afraid that Leonard is hitting on Bernadette. Leonard insists to Howard that he is not hitting on her.

While Bernadette is watching Leonard's experiment, Howard storms in the lab to try and take her back. It then gets revealed that Howard told Bernadette that Leonard's experiment was stupid. Then, while Howard is apologizing to Bernadette and trying to get her to understand him, Leonard brings up embarrassing facts about Howard to get revenge for calling his experiment stupid. Bernadette forgives Howard.

Answer: Glacinda the Troll

Somehow, Howard's "World of Warcraft" character has sex with a character named Glacinda the Troll. Bernadette sees this and breaks up with him. They remain separated for the entire summer break between season 3 and season 4. Howard explains that he did this because he did not think Bernadette wanted to have real sex with him. They eventually make up.

Bernadette is nice to Raj, so Raj develops a crush on her. He daydreams various scenarios where he and Bernadette can be together, including a big Bollywood-style dance at the end of one episode.

Sheldon has ornithophobia, a fear of birds. In one episode, he freaks out when he sees a blue jay outside his window. He tries to scare it away, but his attempt to do so backfires when it flies in his apartment and sits in his spot. He invites Amy and Bernadette to try and get rid of the bird because they are biologists, so they must have knowledge of all living things.

Instead of getting rid of it, Bernadette encourages Sheldon to pat it. Sheldon is at first reluctant, but after she yells at him and calls him a big baby, Sheldon decides to pat it.

Sheldon gets over his fear of birds and then absolutely LOVES the bird for a little while. Later in the episode, the bird flies away never to return, leaving Sheldon distraught.

Answer: "It's okay! I serve soup to poor people!"

In one episode, upon Bernadette's suggestion, the three girls donate clothes to help Penny make up for the bullying she used to do. Then, Penny decides to steal clothes from the bin while the other two girls just go along with it. Penny eventually realizes it's wrong to steal from a donation bin, so she puts all the clothes back, and then so do the other girls.

However, Bernadette decides to steal something anyway. Bernadette reveals earlier in the episode that she works at a soup kitchen, so she believes she can get away with one bad deed because of all the good she does.

When Bernadette discovers that Raj found his dog and knows that Bernadette and Howard lost him, she lashes out at him with full anger. This guilts Raj into not calling the police. Howard is impressed by this and says Bernadette will make a great mother. And that's what makes Howard and Bernadette work as a couple. Neither of them have any morality.

Amy tells Howard that she bets he wishes he was teamed with Bernadette. Howard tells Amy that Bernadette is a monster if you ever play a game with her. Leonard and the audience get to see what Howard means first-hand as Bernadette yells at Leonard the whole time.

Howard writes a song for Bernadette and he sings it for her, getting the rest of the cast to do back-up vocals. The song is called "If I Didn't Have You (Bernadette's Song)."

Bernadette goes to Stuart's comic book shop to buy another copy of a comic that she had damaged Howard's copy of. Stuart didn't have to comic, and reluctantly referred her to a rival store. The manager of that store starts picking on Stuart, so Bernadette initially stands up to him by berating him and not buying the comic.

However, Bernadette returns to the store at night and, continuing to berate the owner, buys the comic anyway - which is probably all the owner cared about.

In one episode, each of the girls revealed something embarrassing one of the other girls did. Penny reveals that Bernadette was in a beauty pageant and sang a really bad version of "Wannabe." Bernadette is upset this is revealed. However, I do not think many men would see any reason for Bernadette to be embarrassed. She looked very good in that dress.
