Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first episode, "The Power Pirate", what was the name of the Scotland Yard inspector who helped the Super Friends try to discover the reason behind the critical power outages?

Answer: Sir Cedric

Sir Cedric was, in fact, the Power Pirate. He was actually an alien from an energy-depleted planet that hoped to use the energy he stole to replenish his homeworld. Naturally, the Super Friends helped him out, and restored everything back to normal.
2. "Professor Goodfellow's G.E.E.C." caused quite a bit of trouble, forcing the Super Friends to call in the help of another hero. Who was this hero?

Answer: Plastic Man

The Goodfellow Effort Eliminating Computer took control over almost every manual labor task in the world, to the point where even the Super Friends seem unnecessary. Unfortunately, a small mouse had other plans for the computer: namely it wanted to chew the wiring.

In order to get the little fellow out safely and restore order, Plastic Man is brought in to pull the mouse out and return everything to normal.
3. The mysterious men from the country of Glacia tried to reroute the Gulf Stream to make their country warmer.

Answer: True

Superman prevented their jet nozzle from permanently changing the course of the Gulf Stream, and drove it into the ocean floor (which caused it to change Glacia's climate and restore everything else to normal).
4. Apparently following the tenets of Malthusian theory, Dr. Gulliver used a shrinking device to reduce the entire population of the Earth to a size that could better utilize the available resources. With only Marvin, Wendy and Wonder Dog unchanged, which other Super Friend showed up to help on this case?

Answer: Green Arrow

This was Green Arrow's first appearance in animated form. Naturally, everything was returned to normal by the end of the episode.
5. What was the name of the device that Dr. Shamon and Leila La Bon created that could pull comets from space and change the elements in their tails to gold?

Answer: The Shamon U

"The Shamon U" also extracted other elements from the comet tails, which caused Earth plants and animals to grow and shrink at amazing rates. The Super Friends had to mount a major effort to prevent too much chaos from breaking out.
6. In "Too Hot Too Handle", what other Super Friend helped the team stop an alien from over-heating the Earth so it would be a perfect place for his race to live?

Answer: The Flash

The Flash was voiced by Ted Knight in this episode, as he was in the three cartoons he starred in on "The Aquaman/Superman Hour" in the sixties. The Flash reversed the alien's magnetic effects by running around the world thousands of times at super-speed with a cable, countering the effects and returning everything to normal.

He and the Super Friends also went to the alien's homeworld and got rid of all the pollution there. Somehow, they didn't think to do that on Earth as well ...
7. What was the name of the super-villain who escaped a special prison built by Superman so he could put the Man of Steel on trial for crimes against him?

Answer: The Raven

The Raven was featured in "The Menace of the White Dwarf". Wendy and Marvin acted as Superman's defense council in the 'trial'. The only thing that could disrupt the Raven's white dwarf power was a special spore from Superman's destroyed home planet, Krypton.
8. What episode began with a talking albatross warning seaside factories to stop polluting the seas before they struck back?

Answer: Dr. Pelagian's War

Pelagian, who had been believed to be dead, thought that only he could save the oceans of the world. He had the ability, like Aquaman, to telepathically control sea life, and could control the oceans themselves. Wendy and Marvin saved the day when they pointed out the long-term ramifications on his scheme.
9. What powered the device known as the Planet Splitter?

Answer: A giant diamond

"The Planet Splitter" was created by Dr. Le Bon, who wanted to split the world in half to get to its precious minerals. This episode also recaps the origin of Superman, which is told to the renegade scientist by Wendy and Marvin.
10. What was the name of the super-plastic that was created by King Plasto?

Answer: F.R.E.R.P.

F.R.E.R.P. stood for 'Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Resin Plastic', and could be shaped by King Plasto into any form, from a tugboat to a robot goose. The Super Friends met the 'King' at a charity golf event, and once again the words of Wendy and Marvin played a big part in ending his reign.
