Kate Mulgrew plays the tough but fair Captain Kathryn Janeway. She is the captain of "Star Trek: Voyager" which aired on TV from 1995 to 2001. Unfortunately, the Voyager is lost in the Delta Quadrant. They must face bizarre new life forms and try to find their way back home.

In a very different role, Kate Mulgrew plays incarcerated prison cook Galina "Red" Reznkikov on the cable show "Orange Is the New Black" about life in a women's prison. It began airing in 2013.
2. Time traveler and Starship captain

Answer: Scott Bakula

"Quantum Leap" starred Scott Bakula as a time traveler Sam Beckett who is "striving to put right what once went wrong". With Al's help, Sam changed a lot of lives for the better between 1989 and 1993.

Bakula played Captain Jonathan Archer on "Enterprise" which was set in the 22nd century, a full century before Captain Kirk's "five year mission", during the early days of Starfleet. The show lasted from 2001 to 2005.

Several years after Cole Seaver saw dead people, Melinda Gordon of "Ghost Whisperer" finds that she can communicate with the dead to help these poor souls "into the light". The show ran from 2005 to 2010, and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt.

In "The Client List", Hewitt played financially strapped Texas housewife Riley Parks who finds an unusual way of supplementing her income in a conservative town. The show aired from 2012 to 2013.
4. Sheriff and an Atlanta lawyer

From 1961 to 1968 we all got to see Sheriff Andrew Jackson Taylor keep the peace in the quiet town of Mayberry, North Carolina on "The Andy Griffith Show". Andy Griffith played Sheriff Taylor, the sane one in a town of unusual characters.

It took about eighteen years for Griffith to return to series TV. From 1986 to 1995 Andy played Atlanta attorney Ben Matlock on "Matlock". With an ever-changing supporting cast, Matlock was always able to successfully defend the defendants.
5. Wisconsin rich girl and an animated daughter

"That '70s Show" was about a group of high school friends in Wisconsin in the 1970s. The group hung out in Eric Forman's basement, smoking pot and making references to the culture of the time. Mila Kunis played rich, spoiled Jackie Burkhart. The show was on from 1998 to 2006.

Did you know that the character of Meg Griffin on "Family Guy" is voiced by Mila Kunis? She plays the poor, abused daughter of the dysfunctional Griffin family. Seth MacFarlane's show has been on since 1998. She was not the original voice of the character, but started some time in the first season.

Did you ever wonder what the surname of the family on "Malcolm in the Middle" was? Hal and Lois Wilkerson had four sons (and a fifth in the final episode). Hal, the father of this dysfunctional family, was played by Bryan Cranston from 2000 to 2006. Before that, Cranston was dentist Tim Whately on "Seinfeld".

In 2008 the amazing series by Vince Gilligan, "Breaking Bad", began airing. Bryan played chemistry teach Walter White who finds out he has cancer and begins making meth to supplement his income. The series ran from 2008 to 2013.

Alyson Hannigan could be seen on TV in many different shows but she really got her start as Willow Rosenberg on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Alyson played a witch, opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, from 1996 to 2003.

Alyson's next big TV role was as Lily Aldrin on "How I Met Your Mother". Lily was
a teacher and one of Ted Mosby's friends (as he is telling his kids in flashback). Lily wound up marrying Marshall. The show aired from 2005 to 2014.
8. Eldest of five and a stranded doctor

Answer: Matthew Fox

When the Salinger parents are killed by a drunk driver, it is up to their five children to find a way to survive. "Party of Five" revolves around the struggles to keep the family together and deal with what life has dealt them. Matthew Fox plays the oldest sibling, Charlie Salinger. The show aired from 1994 to 2000.

Four years later, in 2004, Matthew Fox turns up again on "Lost". This time Fox is Dr. Jack Shephard who was stranded when Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on a mysterious island. "Lost" ran from 2004 to 2010.

Answer: Courteney Cox

Who could forget Monica Geller as one of six friends who lived in New York City and hung out at Central Perk on "Friends"? Courteney Cox played Monica Geller who was a chef and a compulsive neat freak . She wound up marrying Chandler Bing and adopting Erica and Jack. The show was on from 1994 to 2004.

Courteney played divorced mother Jules Kiki Cobb on "Cougar Town", as she attempts to adjust to her new circumstances in Gulfhaven, Florida. The sitcom ran from 2009 to 2015.

Finally, we have one of the most dysfunctional TV families of all time. Watching the Bundys always fighting on "Married...with Children" made us all think that our family was almost normal. Misanthropic shoe salesman Al Bundy was played to perfection by Ed O'Neill from 1987 to 1997.

In 2009 Ed began playing Jay Pritchett, the patriarch, on the very successful sitcom "Modern Family". The stories revolve around Jay's second wife and kids, and his older son and daughter and their families.
