Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. About Debbie Fiderer's candidacy to replace Delores Landingham, who asked, "Is this a joke?"?

Answer: President Bartlet

Debbie came to the meeting stoned, and couldn't even get her own name right! Bartlet called Charlie in and asked if it was a joke, saying, "because if it is, it is both funny and well-executed," but noted that he didn't believe it was a joke.
2. What did C.J. tell Simon she thought she'd been?

Answer: a treat

When he told her he was so frustrated trying to protect her that he was considering switching sides, she said she was sorry he felt that way because she thought she'd been a treat. Simon replied sarcastically, "Oh yes, you have. A little Easter treat, just for me."
3. What did C.J. and Simon plan to do after the play?

Answer: go out for drinks

After they found out that the man threatening C.J. was in custody, they arranged to meet on the sidewalk after the play and go for drinks.
4. Where did Ritchie go while the President went to the play?

Answer: Yankee game

Ritchie went to the game, saying that it was how "ordinary Americans got their entertainment." He planned to join the President at the play during intermission, which Sam and Toby realized would make him seem more important than they wanted. To counter that, they sent the motorcade through the city to tie up traffic.

The ploy was successful, and Ritchie was caught in traffic and delayed so that he didn't arrive until after the second intermission. When asked by the press about Ritchie's tardiness, Sam said, "If 90 percent of success is showing up, we're just happy someone's standing up for the other 10." Sam and Toby then headed back inside, agreeing that they loved the theatre.
5. How did Toby describe Amy to Josh?

Answer: incredibly employable

Josh had had to buy her boss out to win the vote, which ensured that Amy would be fired. With their history, Josh naturally regretted having had to do it.
6. Why had Debbie Fiderer been fired from her previous job at the White House?

Answer: she hired Charlie

When Charlie told Bartlet that he was bringing her back for another interview, Bartlet asked if he was pledging a fraternity or something. When Bartlet asked why Charlie was so stuck on Fiderer, he explained that she had hired him and that was why she had been fired.
7. Who told C.J. about Simon's death?

Answer: Ron Butterfield

He took her out to the hall to tell her. She was clearly stunned, and, in tears, wandered out of the theatre and down the street.
8. President Bartlet was concerned about assassinating Shareef because he thought it meant the United States joined what?

Answer: The League of Ordinary Nations

He said it wasn't his objection; it was "just wrong. It's absolutely wrong."
9. What did Leo give as the reason why President Bartlet had to assassinate Shareef?

Answer: because he won

When Bartlet said it was wrong, Leo said "I know. But you have to do it anyway." Bartlet asked why and Leo told him simply, "Because you won."
10. After President Bartlet told Ritchie about Simon's death, what did Ritchie say?

Answer: "Crime. Boy, I don't know."

A little later in the conversation, Ritchie listed off a number of reasons why he disliked the President. After that, Bartlet stood and headed out the door, turning back to say, "In the future, if you're wondering, 'Crime. Boy, I don't know.' is when I decided to kick your ass."
