Ungar also explained that if the first symbol of the word were erased, the new word would translate as "dead", and the Golem would be destroyed.

Ariel had resurrected Isaac because she loved him and wanted to see him again. However, as her father tried to explain, the Golem was not really Isaac, and she needed to stop it before it killed anyone else.
