Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the scrub room, what was Dr. Lloyd cleaning frantically?

Answer: hands

Dr. Lloyd was scrubbing his hands with no regard for the fact that they were raw and bleeding!
2. Dr. Lloyd killed a patient by performing vigorous liposuction on him, essentially stabbing him to death. What procedure was that patient supposed to receive?

Answer: scalp reduction

Dr. Lloyd was seeing multiple patients that day. Aside from doing liposuction on the wrong patient, he also did it excessively, persisting until blood started to be sucked up by the tube instead of fat.
3. What prescriptions was Dr. Lloyd taking?

Answer: sleeping pills and antacid

Scully and Mulder were originally suspicious of the addictive and controversial sleeping pills, but later changed their focus to the antacid. One of its primary ingredients was Witch's Berry, an herb used in hexing rituals. Their suspicion was only increased when they found that Dr. Ilaqua was taking the same prescription.
4. What did Nurse Waite use to make the pentagram on the patient prepped for skin peel, who turned out to be the second victim?

Answer: leeches

While prepping the woman, she put leeches on her stomach to create a pentagon. It didn't serve it's protective function, though, and when the doctor came in, he ended up using the laser to burn a hole straight through the woman's head.
5. Which of his facial features did Mulder play at changing on the computer program?

Answer: nose

Waiting for Scully as she spoke to Dr. Ilaqua, Mulder played with rhinoplasty software, redesigning his nose and comparing it to his current one.
6. What did Nurse Waite take from her body to put in the flame during the ritual in her home?

Answer: hair

She clearly cut a lock of her hair and dropped it into the candle's flame, all the while speaking in another language as she performed the ritual.
7. Where was Nurse Waite hiding when she first attacked Dr. Franklin?

Answer: bathtub

When Dr. Franklin got home, none of the lights worked, but he followed the sound of dripping liquid to his bathroom upstairs. The bathtub was full of blood, and he leaned over it to turn off the faucet when Nurse Waite jumped out and attacked him with a knife.

She didn't kill him then, and he went downstairs to call the police. As he was on the phone, she attacked him again, but he successfully fought her off. Scully and Mulder arrived when she was being arrested, but before she could be put into a squad car, she started throwing up straight pins and had to be rushed to the hospital.

She died there before they could save her, suffering from massive internal bleeding because of hundreds of pins in her esophagus.
8. What treatment was the third victim supposed to be receiving?

Answer: chemical skin peel

Dr. Kaplan insisted on taking over the procedure when Dr. Franklin looked tired. However, Dr. Franklin was able to manipulate Dr. Kaplan into pouring acid on the patient's face, effectively melting it off!
9. Working with Dr. Shannon on the computer alteration of Dr. Cox's image, what did Mulder ask her to do that Dr. Shannon told him was beyond their surgical capabilities?

Answer: move the eyes further apart and strengthen the forehead

When Dr. Shannon did as Mulder asked, it was clear that the image was of Dr. Franklin. Mulder suggested to Scully that Dr. Franklin was killing the patients so as to be able to perform the sort of reconstruction that surgery could not.
10. Scully and Mulder stopped Dr. Franklin before he could complete his plan and recreate himself.

Answer: false

They thought they might have when the doctors were able to save Dr. Shannon's life, but as they stood over her body, yelling drew them to another room in the ER. There, a doctor had killed a patient while others in the room tried in vain to stop him. Meanwhile, Dr. Franklin had successfully removed the skin from his face and reconstructed himself as Dr. Hartman.

He then moved to Los Angeles and obtained a new position at an aesthetic surgery center, telling the woman interviewing him, "I like to say whoever God didn't get around to creating in his own image, it's our job to recreate in ours."
