Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Deokishisu, as seen in the seventh "Pokémon" movie, is the "Ruby/Sapphire" equivalent of what legendary Pokémon?

Answer: Myuutsuu

Deokishisu, an extraterrestrial Pokémon, shows itself in the movie to be an evil Pokémon bent on destruction, just like Myuutsuu. In the movie, it fights the giant Dragon Pokemon Rekkuuza. Deokishishu is a secret Pokémon and one of two from "Ruby/Sapphire" (Jiraachi being the other one).
2. Which of these is not a way to get a Pokémon to evolve?

Answer: Training it only during a certain time of day

Pokémon such as Gloom, Vulpix, and Pikachu can only evolve using stones. Golbat is an example of a Pokémon that evolves by happiness. A Pokémon that evolves by the use of porocks (also known as pokeblocks) is the elusive Hinbasu, which evolves into Mirkarosu only if its Beauty is high enough... an evolution only achieved by this specific Pokemon. Only Kemusso will evolve differently depending on the time of day, but this is not how it evolves.

It evolves by levelling up. If you evolve it at night, it will become Mayorudo and then Dokukieru. If you evolve it in the daytime, it will become Karasarisu and then Agehunto.
3. Which Pokémon is only met through a "fateful encounter"?

Answer: Jiraachi

Jiraachi is obtained by importing it from the "Pokemon Colosseum" bonus disc. The OT is "WISHMKR", and you can't rename it. On the bottom of the status screen, where it tells you how you obtained that Pokémon, it says only "fateful encounter".
4. Which of these Pokémon can you receive as a gift and also find in the wild?

Answer: Soonano

Soonano, the pre-evolution of Soonansu, is given to you as an egg. You can also find them on Mirage Island, but the island only appears when its raining and you have a certain Pokémon with you (the exact factors are entirely random). Danbaru is given to you after defeating the Pokémon League (you'll find it in the Champion's house). Powarun is given to you after you save the Weather Control Tower, and Ririira is a fossil Pokémon.
5. Which Pokémon can only be obtained through evolution, yet is not an evolution?

Answer: Nukenin

The only way to get Nukenin is to have an extra space in your party when you evolve Tsuchinin. It will evolve into Tekkanin, and the leftover skin will become Nukenin. Nukenin starts with 1 HP and will never gain any more. It does, however, have the amazing ability "Wonder Guard", which prevents any damage done to Nukenin from an attack that would not be Super-Effective (it may also block attacks that would do over a certain amount of damage).
6. Which of the starter Pokémon will not gain an extra attribute when it reaches its final evolution?

Answer: Kimori

Achamo's final evolution, Bashaamo, is Fire/Fighting. Mizugorou's final evolution, Raguraji, is Water/Ground. Kimori's final evolution, however, is Jucain and is pure Grass. Mizugorou is the strongest of the three starters, but Achamo ends up as the strongest when fully evolved (Bashaamo is very good against Daigo).
7. Chiritarisu's two attributes make it doubly weak to what element?

Answer: Ice

Chiritarisu, Chiritto's evolution, is Dragon/Flying. Both of these attributes are weak to Ice. It would also be weak to Rock and Dragon. Since Electric is strong against Flying but doesn't do much damage to Dragons, the two attributes would cancel each other out and an Electric attack would do normal damage.
8. Of these Pokémon, which would an Eifi not be able to damage (without using a TM)?

Answer: Yamirami

Samayooru and Jubetta are Ghost-types, and Kuchiito is Dark/Steel, but Yamirami has the deadly (against Eifi) combo of Dark/Ghost. Since Eifi learns only Psychic and Normal attacks, it can't damage Yamirami (Dark nullifies Psychic, Ghost nullifies Normal). Eifi is not in "Ruby/Sapphire", but is a key player in "Pokémon Colosseum".
9. Which Pokémon starts out as being the only Water/Bug Pokémon in any version, but later evolves to the more common Bug/Flying type?

Answer: Ametama

Ametama is the only Water/Bug, but its evolution, Amemoosu, is Bug/Flying. Other Bug/Flying Pokémon include Tekkanin, Agehunto, Batafurii, Rediba, Redian, Yanyanma, and Sutoraiku.
10. True or False: Even though Ratiasu and Ratiosu can both fly, they are not Flying-type Pokémon.

Answer: True

The two legendary Pokémon that move across the map like Raikou, Entei, and Suikun from "Pokémon Gold/Silver" are Ratiasu and Ratiosu. Both the smaller, red-colored, "Ruby"-exclusive Ratiasu and the larger, blue-colored, "Sapphire"-exclusive Ratiosu are Dragon/Psychic types. Through a special Nintendo promotion, you might have obtained the "Eon Ticket", which will allow you to go to a hidden island where one of these two Pokémon will be waiting for you.
11. Which of these is a non-Steel-type used by the Pokémon League Champion?

Answer: Yureidoru

Both the Steel/Flying Eaamudo and the Steel/Rock Bosugodora are used by Daigo, the Champion, who uses chiefly Steel-types. The two exceptions to this are Yureidoru, a Grass/Rock type, and Aamarudo, a Bug/Rock type. Tyltalis is a Dragon/Flying type used by another of the Elite Four.
12. What factor determines Hinbasu's location?

Answer: None of these

The location of Hinbasu all depends on the "cool phrase" you give the kid at Milo Town. Depending on what the "cool phrase" is, Hinbasu will appear at four of the approximately 400 squares on Route 119. Fish for him about three times at each square, and eventually you'll catch him. Note that this will take quite some time, and there is no easy way to do this.
13. There is one Pokémon that is so unique that there are no two the same. Which Pokémon is this?

Answer: Pacchiiru

Pacchiiru, which looks like a dizzy panda/rabbit is found in the ash-covered grasses of Route 113. It is true that there are no two the same... I tested this theory by capturing every single Pacchiiru I ever found. When I checked them in their box, there was not a single one like the other. I found this fact to be amazing, considering Pacchiiru are not rare Pokémon (actually, you'll be beating them off with a stick in Route 113).
14. Before "Ruby/Sapphire", Kabigon was the heaviest Pokémon on record. How many of the new Pokémon are heavier than Kabigon?

Answer: Two

Guraadon and Metagurosu are the two Pokémon heavier than Kabigon. One is a Fire/Ground type, while the other is Steel/Psychic. Metagurosu is only 5'3" (smaller than some teenagers), but is the second heaviest Pokémon on record, weighing in at 1212.5lbs. In "Pokémon Colosseum", both Guraadon and Metagurosu are seen as much much bigger.
15. Where is the second largest Pokémon found?

Answer: Sky Tower

The second largest Pokémon is Rekkuuza, who is 23 feet long. The Myuutsuu of "Ruby/Sapphire", this Dragon/Flying Pokémon starts out at Level 70 and is one-of-a-kind. Not only is he hard to capture, but he's also hard to get to. You'll need the Mach Bike if you even want to reach the top level of Sky Tower. I would not suggest using the Master Ball on Rekkuuza, but rather saving it for Ratiosu/Ratiasu, who are much more elusive.
