When equipped, Mario is immune to fire damage when he directly contacts a fire enemy while attacking it, and he also gains two extra attack points when directly attacking fire, such as by jumping on one.

The badge looks like a pale blue snowman with a purple hat on top. It also appears in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door".

Mega Smash is a badge that is found on the west side inside a cracked wall that must be blown up with Bombette. It is a pink hammer with a spike on both flat ends. It costs three Badge Points to equip and will deal tons of damage with executed, about eight to twelve points of damage, depending on whether Mario executes the action command properly or not. It is the hammer equivalent of the Mega Jump badge.

Answer: Damage Dodge

Damage Dodge is a badge that looks like a purple diamond. It can be found in a treasure chest on Mt. Rugged, and can also be bought by Rowf in Toad Town after Chapter 5 for 150 coins. Costing three Badge Points to equip, when Mario executes the guard action command correctly, the damage he takes will be decreased even further by one point, so the damage he takes will be reduced by two damage points.

It is one of the most useful badges, especially since it only costs 3 Badge Points. It appears again in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door".

Answer: Spin Smash

S-P-In Sm-As-H

Costing only one Badge Point, Spin Smash is a hammer badge which looks like a blue hammer with a spiral on the flat ends. The badge must be bought in Toad Town at Rowf's Badge Shop. If the action command is executed properly, the hammer will knock the target backward into the next enemy, dealing minor damage to the second enemy. The attack costs two Flower Points to use in battle when the badge is equipped.

Answer: First Attack

First Attack is a badge that can be purchased from Rowf's Badge Shop for 100 coins. It looks like a green octagon with diagonal white lines from the corner sides, creating a white cross. If an enemy is so weak that it no longer gives Mario any Star Points, then if the badge is equipped, costing one Badge Point, and Mario lands the first strike outside of battle, the enemy will be instantly defeated without Mario even entering a battle with it.

It appears again in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door".

Answer: Dodge Master

Dodge Master can be bought from Rowf's Badge Shop for 100 coins. The badge is a green circle with a person's head in the middle. It costs two Badge Points to equip. When equipped, the timing of action commands become more lenient and easier to execute properly.

In "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", the badge is replaced with Simplifier, which looks like a green rhombus with a square in the middle, and it only costs one Badge Point.

Answer: I Spy

Ice Pie = I Spy

Available after starting Chapter 4, this badge can be obtained by finding Rowf's calculator, which was stolen by a Shy Guy, and returning it to him. In return, this badge is given to Mario. It looks like a brown square with four yellow triangles in the middle arranged like a rhombus. When equipped at the cost of only one Badge Point, Mario will be notified when he enters a room with a Star Piece. In "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", this badge is absent, and instead Ms. Mowz can be used to sniff out treasures such as Star Pieces.

Answer: Hammer Throw

Hammer Throw is a badge that costs two Badge Points to equip. It looks like a purplish-pinkish hammer. When equipped, a special skill is given to Mario that costs two Flower Points to use. When used, Mario will throw a hammer at any enemy. This is helpful for spiked flying enemies or enemies on the ceiling. If Mario hits the tree by the overpass with his hammer, a springboard will fall down that Mario can jump on to get launched into the tree.

In the tree is a treasure chest that contains this badge.

It appears again in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door".

Answer: Money Money

Mo-Ne-Y Mo-Ne-Y

Money Money is a badge that looks like two coins and costs seven Badge Points to wear. After a battle, if the badge is equipped, Mario will receive an extra five to fifteen coins after each normal battle. This badge must be obtained by trading twenty Star Pieces for it with Merlow, a badge proprietor, who dwells on Shooting Star Summit. It appears again in "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", in which multiples can be equipped to receive even more extra coins.

Answer: Triple Dip

Triple Dip is a better version of the Double Dip badge. It looks like the head of a rose with a white '3' imprinted on it. Costing four Badge Points to equip and six Flower Points to utilize in battle, this will let Mario use three items in one turn. This can be found in a secret part of a room in the Crystal Palace, which can be entered by blowing up a wall with Bombette in the top-right corner of the room with the mirror that rotates when the red switch is hit.

In "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", this badge does not exist, but the same effect can be created by equipping both Double Dip badges that are obtainable.

When there are two Double Dip badges equipped, it will still be called Triple Dip in battle.
