"Dark Forces" (PC) Trivia Quiz

Answer: First-Person Shooter

In "Dark Forces", you played through the eyes of Kyle Katarn, and used the weapons you had in front of you (quite literally) to dispatch your enemies. This is a little difficult if using only a keyboard, as unlike "Doom", you had to look up and down as well as strafing, and looking and other movements.

Answer: Kyle Katarn

Kyle Katarn is the star of "Dark Forces" as well as its sequel, "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight", and "Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast". He also plays the role of mentor for Jaden Korr in "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy", which used the same engine, weapons, and Force Powers that were in "Jedi Outcast".

Answer: Brayor Blaster Pistol

This is Kyle's weapon of choice in all his titles. In "Dark Forces" it is weak and slow, but has extremely good accuracy. In "Jedi Outcast" it has a secondary fire, allowing the wielder to charge up a shot to do extra damage.

Answer: Gamorreans

Your first mission is actually somewhat detached from the rest of the game. Your objective is the Death Star plans. You have to infiltrate the enemy base, descend into its bowels and extract the plans, which you'll later hand over to Princess Leia.

Stormtroopers are abundant in this mission, but you can find Imperial Officers and Imperial Navy Troopers stationed around the level, normally in pairs.
Gamorreans show up later in the game on levels like Jabba's Ship.

Answer: E-11 Blaster Rifles

Every time you take out an Imperial Stormtrooper, he'll drop his weapon. If you don't already have the E-11, you'll pick it up, otherwise, you'll just take to power cells if you run over it.

Answer: No

You only ever get your fists in this game, but in the sequels, Kyle and other characters (Jaden Korr and Mara Jade) get to use lightsabers. In "Dark Forces" you just get to run through dodging blaster blots instead of deflecting them.

Answer: Dark Trooper

You get to fight a few different forms of the Dark Trooper. There's the most common, a Phase 1, which is just the mechanical skeleton of the trooper, that has to slash at you with unfinished appendages. The Phase 2 Troopers are fully armored and armed.

They take a while to kill and carry Assault Cannons with two effective ways to kill you: rapid fire plasma particles and missiles. The good side to them is that you can take the weapon once they're done with it.

Answer: A Factory

The Arc Hammer is the factory where the Dark Troopers were assembled and launched off into space. In the last mission, you have to destroy the Arc Hammer and fight a Phase 3 Dark Trooper (which is actually the General in charge of the Dark Trooper project, not a machine).

Answer: Jan Ors

Jan Ors is a Rebel agent working with Kyle. She flies the ship and give mission briefings and debriefings. Later, in the series, Jan becomes Kyle's inseparable partner and in the end, they get married.

Answer: The Moldy Crow

Kyle Katarn uses the Moldy Crow to get from planet to planet. You don't actually ever get to pilot it, but it's always on the loading screen and you see it sometimes when it drops you off or picks you up.
Kyle later (in the sequels) replaced the Moldy Crow with the Raven's Claw.
