Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which game did you play as Jango Fett from "Attack of the Clones"?

Answer: Bounty Hunter (2002)

"Bounty Hunter" was released on PS2 and GameCube in the same year as "Attack of the Clones." In this game, players took control of Janjo Fett, the Mandalorian bounty hunter, in a series of missions. The game featured Jango's iconic dual pistols, jetpack, and other gadgets. Players could scan non-player characters to see if there were outstanding bounties on them, and capture or kill them for additional credits.

The game ended with Jango meeting Count Dooku and becoming the template for the republic's clone army.
2. Which real-time strategy game was a re-theme of Ensemble Studios' "Age of Empires II"?

Answer: Galactic Battlegrounds (2001)

"Galactic Battlegrounds" was a "Star Wars" retheme of the critically acclaimed "Age of Empires II," released on the PC. It was developed by Ensemble Studios and used the the Genie game engine (the same team and engine as "Age of Empires II"). Players controlled a civilization, and could mix and match different eras and allegiances (for example, the Rebel Alliance could ally with the Galactic Empire against the Trade Federation and the Wookiees).

The expansion, "Clone Campaigns", was released with content from "Attack of the Clones", two days before the film's release.
3. In which game did you play as a member of the 501st Legion, Darth Vader's personal elite troops?

Answer: Battlefront II (2005)

"Battlefront II" was released on Xbox, PS2, PSP, and PC one year after the first "Battlefront". It used the same game engine as the first game, so the developers were able to add a lot of content. Space battles and a proper campaign were added, as well as new maps. The game focused heavily on content from "Revenge of the Sith," which had been released earlier in the same year.
4. Which rail shooter game had full-motion video (live-action) cutscenes and had you take the role of Rookie One?

Answer: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire (1995)

"Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire" was released on DOS, Mac, and PlayStation. It was an arcade-style game, with each level having its own simple mechanics. Often levels were shooting galleries, on-rails flight sections, or a combination. The cutscenes between levels were live-action videos, which helped make the 1995 game look better.

The story focused on the Empire's new TIE Phantom, which could cloak itself. "Rebel Assault II" did not leave much of an impact on "Star Wars," but the TIE Phantom would continue to appear in other "Star Wars" media, including the "X-wing" miniatures tabletop game by Fantasy Flight Games in 2014.
5. In which flight simulator did you fly as Ace Azzameen during the events between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "The Return of the Jedi"?

Answer: X-Wing Alliance (1999)

"X-Wing Alliance" was the final installment of the "X-Wing" series of flight simulators for PC. It was released in 1999, right before "The Phantom Menace." It was the last game for a while to focus on the original trilogy era of "Star Wars", with the next few years being dominated by the prequel era.

Previous games had series of disconnected tours and missions, but this installment had a cohesive story that spanned 50 missions, with characters that had depth.

2020's "Star Wars: Squadrons" was a spiritual successor to the "X-Wing" series.
6. In which game did you play as Mace Windu, Obi-wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker to stop the Confederacy's Dark Reaper project?

Answer: The Clone Wars (2002)

"The Clone Wars" was released on Xbox, PS2, and GameCube in the same year as "Attack of the Clones." It was an arcade-like game, with players taking control of tanks, speeder bikes, walkers, and gunships, starting with the Battle of Geonosis seen in the film.
7. In which role-playing game did you learn the nuances of the Force from Kreia, one of the best video game characters ever written?

Answer: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2005)

"Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords" was released on PC and Xbox. Bioware created the first in the series, but wanted to pursue other projects instead of a sequel. They recommended Obsidian Entertainment, whom Bioware had worked with before.

The first game was a very good, if formulaic "Star Wars" story. The sequel was a dark deconstruction of the "Star Wars" formula and the Force. "The Sith Lords" was well received for its excellent writing, but the rushed schedule meant it shipped with many bugs and a lot of content had to be cut.

A dedicated modding community sprung up to fix the game and restore the missing content.
8. In which game did you play as Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles, flying iconic starfighters and sometimes running around on foot?

Answer: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (2003)

"Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike" was released only on the GameCube. The "Rogue Squadron" series was well-regarded as a flight arcade genre, but this installment added in on-foot sections. The on-foot sections were simple compared to other shooter games, and not well received. "Rebel Strike" was the first in the series to have multiplayer modes, including a variety of two-player versus modes, as well as the entire campaign from the previous installment, "Rogue Leader", as a two-player co-operative campaign.
9. In which game did you play as Mara Jade (Luke Skywalker's future spouse) as she learned the ways of the Force from Kyle Katarn?

Answer: Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (1998)

"Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith" was released on PC as a stand-alone expansion for "Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II". Players started the game as Kyle Katarn, the protagonist of the other games in the series, and then switched to Mara Jade, who had some Force training from her life as the Emperor's Hand (personal spy/assassin). Mara Jade was introduced in 1991's "Heir to the Empire" by Timothy Zahn, and was a staple character in all Expanded Universe material for the next 25 years. "Star Wars" fans were eagerly watching to see if Mara Jade would be re-introduced to the Disney canon (Admiral Thrawn was), but she never made it into the sequel trilogy of movies.
10. In which game did you play as Kyle Katarn to fight Desann and the Imperial Remnant?

Answer: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002)

"Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast" was released on PC, Mac, Xbox, GameCube, and is one of the highest-rated "Star Wars" games. It was known for it's excellent depiction of Force powers and lightsaber combat, and uniquely allowed some dismemberment when using a lightsaber (eg. enemy hands could be bloodlessly cut off).

The team even got Billy D. Williams to reprise his role (voice only) as Lando Calrissian. The story followed Kyle Katarn, who had given up his connection to the Force, thinking it was more trouble than it was worth.

When the Dark Jedi Desann seemingly killed Kyle's partner, Jan Ors, Kyle reconnected with the Force to track down Desann across the galaxy, visiting lots of locations from both the movies and the Expanded Universe. The "Jedi Knight" series is rare among "Star Wars" games for taking place after the movies.
