Witch Doctor, typically played as a supporting hero, is actually quite adaptable. While squishier than many heroes, his Intelligence-based skills have ranged from stuns to heals and, if left unattended to in battle, he can be a devastating foe to deal with, especially since his ultimate ability, his Death Ward, can fire off at enemies from a distance like a turret, actually hitting multiple enemies at once with an Aghanim's Scepter upgrade.

A ranged hero, he's often best-suited to lanes with another hero in tow, mainly because of his paralyzing cask and healing abilities.

Tusk, a Strength-based hero with almost unparalleled initiation, is a fast-and-furious style character who won't work if you don't have a bit of patience and finesse. With his ranged Ice Shards, his ability to pull allies into battle without taking damage, and his slowing capabilities, Tusk becomes even more effective with invisibility to lead into ganks...and then comes the Walrus PUNCH!, of course.

Io, introduced to "DotA 2" in 2012, but late to the original "DotA" party, is primarily used as support in a team because his unique abilities allow for him to tether to allies for extra movement and health/mana buffs and, with his ultimate, teleport himself and friendly party members anywhere on the map for a short time.

As Io is a mere wisp, his only communicates in beeps and boops. Because of his need for team cohesion, map awareness, and clever handling, he's often regarded as one of the trickiest heroes to play in the entire game.

Answer: Ursa

While all of the other choices are Strength-based heroes, Ursa is, deceptively, an Agility-based hero with strong attacks, especially when built with lifesteal items. Most of his skills simply contribute to higher damage output, especially when his ultimate allows him to Enrage into a frenzy, buffing his existing attacks even more. Ulfsaar, as is his original name, is actually a bear, and while his ferocious attacks may be something to worry about, he doesn't have many options for attacking more than a single target at a time.

Answer: Techies

Boom! Techies, introduced into the game in 2014, are often regarded as a game-changer because their invisible mines influence the battlefield in a way that's unlike most other heroes. The three, played as one hero, cart themselves around the map and are able to plant both landmines, stasis traps, and remote mines (their ultimate) to trickily blow up unsuspecting enemy players. Failing that, Techies can also commit suicide by blowing themselves up and, hopefully, taking out enemies in that way. Techies is an Intelligence-based hero.

Answer: Broodmother

Broodmother is an interesting character in that most of her damage output is likely going to be spread out across the attacks of her Spiderlings, units she can create using her ability to spawn tiny spiders by killing foes. This, coupled with webs that can make her, effectively, invisible unless in combat, makes her a dangerous adversary in any lane with a strong capability of pushing towers.

This, coupled with lifesteal items and skills, can push her dangerously into the late-game if uncontested.

She is an Agility hero.

Answer: Alchemist

Alchemist is a Strength-based carry who, if left to farm, can be devastating to most teams simply because he can afford anything thrown at him. One of his abilities, Greevil's Greed, allows him to take in more money from Creep kills and Bounty Runes, even from the start of the game, to make purchasing all the easier throughout the battle, and his ability to hand off Aghanim's Scepters to any teammates looking for the upgrade is potentially game-changing.

Answer: Shadow Shaman

Shadow Shaman, typically played as an Intelligence-centric support, is known for his array of stunning spells (Hex, for instance, and his Spirit Shackles to hold an enemy in place) and his pushing capabilities since his ultimate ability creates a slew of draconic Serpent Wards. Named Rhasta, Shadow Shaman is heavily reliant on mana to get by, but in late-game he finds considerable strength from Aghanim's Scepter and the Refresher Orb which help cross the hurdle into the enemy base while dealing significant damage.

Answer: Meepo

Meepo is the ideal micro-ing character. An Agility-based geomancer, Meepo finds his niche in-game by leveling his ultimate ability to spawn clones, which means players could face up to five Meepos on the map if they aren't careful at keeping him down.

This can be difficult, since a well-trained Meepo player is likely to level up quickly by spreading out. That being said, if you kill any of the Meepo clones, all of the Meepos die, unlike when one fights Phantom Lancer and only one of the clones is real.

Answer: Sniper

Sniper, an early pick-up for players due to his inclusion in the "DotA 2" tutorial, is a fairly straight-forward Agility-based hero because his common mechanic of shooting a gun is easy to get a grasp on. This being said, Sniper is a very slow character who is most effective at a range, so being effective from a distance without getting ganked by the enemy team is likely the only way to farm enough to devastate enemies in the late-game. Also known by the name Kardel Sharpeye, Sniper's ultimate ability allows him to hone in on one foe for a devastating blast, even from a significant distance, as long as he can see his target from the initial aim.
