Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sven
Answer: God's Strength
A Strength-based hero known for his cleaving sword and formidable strength in battle, Sven's ultimate ability, God's Strength, allows him to grant himself bonus strength and damage when used in battle. Because this ability influences Sven's base strength attribute, it also boosts his health, regenerative ability, and resistance. Purchasing Aghanim's Scepter grants Sven the ability to use God's Strength as an aura instead of a self-cast spell, granting the same bonus to all allies in range.
2. Jakiro
Answer: Macropyre
This two-headed intelligence-based hero combines the dual powers of fire and ice and makes use of short cool-down times on spells to be a popular support character. Macropyre is a particularly fun magic spell for an ultimate ability because it makes for good crowd control. With this, Jakiro expels a swath of fire that does significant damage to any enemies situated in it during its ten second time limit. Purchasing an Aghanim's Scepter increases the time limit to half a minute, boosts the damage, and enhances the range and distance.
It also burns down any trees in its range, Scepter or not.
3. Mirana
Answer: Moonlight Shadow
Although often used as a support hero, Mirana has quite a bit of utility as an intelligence-based, ranged option in the roster. Aside from using one of the longest-lasting stuns of the game (with Sacred Arrow), her ultimate ability is Moonlight Shadow, which places all allied heroes under the cover of invisibility and increase their speed for a good amount of time. Any allies who are affected by Dust of Appearance or who are caught in the range of a Sentry Ward can be seen, regardless of the ability, but it is useful for group sneak attacks and quick escapes under the right circumstances.
4. Tidehunter
Answer: Ravage
A bulky strength hero whose abilities can make him a formidable melee fighter or a powerful support, Tidehunter brings both hard hits to the table and impactful slows and stuns. Ravage, his ultimate, is one of a handful of ultimates in the game to put enemy units out of commission for a brief spell because it causes an expanding radius of tentacles to emerge from the ground, stunning all foes for more than two seconds and doing damage. Coupled with a Blink Dagger, it makes Tide a useful hero for initiations.
5. Enigma
Answer: Black Hole
Enigma's Black Hole is very similar to Tidehunter's Ravage in that it temporarily stuns foes in place unless they can protect themselves from the magic of the void. The catch is that Enigma needs to channel the spell, so anyone who can interrupt him or defeat him from outside the radius of the Black Hole can put an end to it. Nonetheless, it's still a powerful spell, especially when linked with a Blink Dagger and even moreso with Aghanim's Scepter which adds Enigma's Midnight Pulse spell to the Black Hole, dealing even more damage.
6. Terrorblade
Answer: Sunder
An agility hero with the ability to split into multiple copies of himself to divide and conquer in battle, Terrorblade is somewhat enigmatic because his skills typically attribute themselves to playing with image and reflection. Sunder is unlike most melee heroes' ultimates because it requires that Terrorblade wait for an opportune moment at which point he can swap his health with an enemy's health, effectively bringing them down to next-to-nothing if the situation is right. Terrorblade can cast the spell on allies as well, potentially saving them in battle at the cost of his own HP.
7. Luna
Answer: Eclipse
A ranged agility hero, Luna builds up to do a great deal of damage, but always at a distance. Her glaive allows her to strike multiple foes the more it gets powered up and her Lucent Beam, a beam of light called forth from the sky, does a great deal of magical damage (and a small stun) with each hit.
Her ultimate ability is tied directly to Lucent Beam since Eclipse unleashes several, at random, to foes in range. Increasing its power and using an Aghanim's Scepter will only increase the amount of beams even more, making the attack devastating if performed properly against one or multiple foes.
8. Ogre Magi
Answer: Multicast
Ogre Magi, typically seen as a hearty support hero built around intelligence as a stat, is a two-headed brute who can conjure fire and empower allies (and allied structures) to be more suitable for battle. His ultimate, Multicast, is a passive one, which is quite unlike most ultimate abilities, and it allows him to cast his spells, Fireblast, Ignite, and Bloodlust, up to four times in a single cast.
The likelihood of more casts increases the more the ability is levelled up; you can't get a 4x Multicast unless it's maxed out.
9. Dark Seer
Answer: Wall of Replica
A speedy intelligence hero, Dark Seer is quite adaptable in a number of roles on the battlefield, often due to his Ion Shell being useful against creeps and his Surge ability being a strong speed buff. His ultimate ability, however, is Wall of Replica, which creates an ethereal wall which, when passed through by an enemy hero, creates a duplicate that will attack them (and be controlled by the Dark Seer if need-be).
When coupled with Dark Seer's Vacuum ability, the wall can be particularly harmful.
It's also upgraded with the Aghanim's Scepter, increasing the damage of the illusions to, potentially, a maximum of their original hero's full power.
10. Faceless Void
Answer: Chronosphere
Faceless Void is an agility hero with a lot of carry potential though he also works well in mid-range positions on the team because in addition to taking on items quite nicely for melee attacks depending on the circumstances, his Chronosphere is a massive help for lock-down in battle.
When cast, Chronosphere creates a radius trapping all heroes within, allowing Void to hit them (and anyone ranged outside to attack) for the duration. And since Void is able to use his Time Walk Skill similar to other characters using a Blink Dagger, it's a strong battle initiator or diffuser.
The catch is that allies will also freeze in the Chronosphere if they touch any part of it unless they use an item like a Black King Bar to attain magic immunity.
