Question 1 of 10
1. In "Metroid Prime", you play as Samus Aran, a female bounty hunter on a mission. The beginning of the game takes Samus to the Space Pirate Frigate in orbit about Tallon IV. This area gives you a chance to discover what her suit and weapons have to offer. While on the frigate, you'll need to fight your first boss, the Parasite King, and escape after the battle before the ship self-destructs in seven minutes.

What's the wrong fact in this paragraph?
Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Throughout the game, there are many items that can be picked up that will refill your Energy, and Missile and Power Bomb count. To begin, there are four different Energy refillers found around the world. These refill 10, 20, 50, and 100 Energy respectively. Missile refills will only replenish five Missiles in your total, but you can refill them all using one of the Missile Stations over the planet. There is Power Bomb ammunition found throughout the world as well. This weapon can only be used in Morph Ball Mode, and it can be used to destroy materials like Bendezium.

What error did I make in this paragraph?
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Throughout the game, you can find many beams that will be used in different conditions. You start with the Power Beam (which opens normal doors), and you acquire your Charge Beam in the Chozo Ruins. The Wave beam is next to be found, and it's located in Phendrana Drifts. The Ice and Plasma Beams are found next in the Antechamber of the Chozo Ruins and the Plasma Processing Room of Magmoor Caverns respectively. Each of these can combine with Super Missiles to have a devastating blow. With the use of five Missiles (or one Super Missile), you can create Super Missiles with the Power Beam, and the Flamethrower with the Plasma Beam. There are also combos with the Wave and Ice Beam. The Wave Beam has the power to activate conduits with electrical charges to open doors, and the Ice Beam opens white doors.

I can clearly see the error in this one, but can you? What piece of information is wrong?
Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. In the game, Samus will have four visors. The Combat Visor and the Scan Visor are with Samus from the start, and neither are damaged in the explosion on the Space Pirate Frigate. The Thermal Visor is found in the Geothermal Core of Magmoor Caverns while the X-Ray Visor is in the Life Grove (along with a Chozo Artifact) in the Tallon Overworld. The Scan Visor is important for those shooting for 100%. If you scan every log in the Log Book, you'll unlock an image gallery. There are many galleries in the game which can be found by achieving certain goals like beating the game on Hard Mode, or collecting all pick-ups.

What's the mistake in this paragraph?
Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. The Morph Ball is certainly an interesting feature. This object is re-acquired after the explosion in the Space Pirate Frigate when you fight the Plated Beetle in the Ruined Shrine (of Chozo Ruins) for it. After this, you can obtain the Morph Ball Bomb, Boost Ball, Spider Ball, and Power Bombs from around the planet. Overall, there are four Power Bomb Expansions. Throughout the planet, you'll be able to find devices especially designed for the Morph Ball such as the half-pipe and the Spinner. Both of these usually require the Boost Ball, so pick it up in the Chapel of the Elders and be on your way. To use a Spider Ball Track, get into the Morph Ball and press R near a magnetic track.

What is the error in this paragraph?
Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. In "Metroid Prime", you can visit various areas containing many hidden features and items. A personal favourite is the Chozo Ruins which contains numerous Chozo-made rooms and obstacles. The Hall of Elders may be to your liking since it's near the location of the Ice Beam, it contains a Missile Reloader, and you can fight Chozo Ghosts. In fact, the Chozo Artifact of World is found nearby. Phazon Mines is pretty neat too. It contains Blue Phazon which can only be resisted by the Phazon Suit and Red Phazon which will hurt you no matter what suit you wear. This location also contains many specialized troopers. Phendrana Drifts contains many ice-related enemies like Sheegoths and Crystallines, but it also contains a large laboratory featuring Metroids and Space Troopers. Some other regions on the planet include Magmoor Caverns, Tallon Overworld, and the Impact Crater. The Space Pirate Frigate is also a location, and it crashes into the Tallon Overworld.

Where is the factual error in this paragraph?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. There are many enemies in the game created to give you a challenge. These can be from the smallest creatures, like Scarabs, that can be found in tunnels in groups. Other odd creatures are the Adult Sheegoths which can absorb missiles and other shots on their back. Certain Space Pirates are weak or strong against certain beams in the Phazon Mines, so start shooting away. The Ice Trooper can simply be frozen, then shot with a missile to be destroyed. There are also a few different Metroids in the game. Hunter Metroids can spawn into many different Metroids, while Fission Metroids have tentacles.

I know something's wrong here as well. What's the error that's written in this summary?
Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. There are only a few extras in the game, but they're quite interesting. There are four Image Galleries that can be unlocked in various ways. For example, picking up all pick-ups (eg. Energy Tanks, Missile Expansions) will get you Image Gallery 4, and collecting all Log Book Scans will get you Image Gallery 1. In order to get Image Gallery #3, you'll need to beat Hard Mode of "Metroid Prime". Hard Mode is yet another bonus, and it's unlocked when you beat the game for the first time. Other bonuses involve connecting the GBA game "Metroid Fusion" to the Gamecube.

What is the error in this summary of bonuses?
Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. The bosses in "Metroid Prime" are especially odd. You can find the odd plant creature, Flaahgra (I still have trouble spelling that name) in the Sun Tower of Chozo Ruins, and you can get a Varia Suit from the battle. You can also find the rock beast, Thardus, in the Quarantine Cave of Phendrana Drifts, and he'll give you the Spider Ball. The Omega Pirate in Phazon Mine's Elite Quarters will give you the Phazon Suit as well. There are also many minor bosses in the game, but oddly, none of them can be found in Magmoor Caverns. Meta Ridley can be found in the Artifact Temple, and you need all twelve Chozo Artifacts to fight him.

You'd think I'd have checked my sources first... What's the error I've made here?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The end of the game is great. You need to fight Meta Ridley for access to the Impact Crater, but of course, to do this, you need the twelve Chozo Artifacts. In the crater, you need to avoid the Lumigeks and Metroids in order to reach the boss' chamber. During the battle, you'll fight the boss through three subchambers until you reach its final lair and final form. In the first form, attack the Metroid Prime with the same coloured beam as the colour of its veins. In the second half of the battle, you'll need to use the Phazon Beam in the Blue Phazon Puddles in order to attack the beast. In the end, Samus will lose the Phazon Suit, but she'll escape with her life.

I've made one final error. Where is my mistake?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Your first boss is the Parasite Queen

The Parasite Queen is found in the Reactor Core of the ship, and it really doesn't have a weakness (excluding firepower). You'll need to shoot it when it's not covered by a shield, and after the fight, you'll need to escape the frigate before it explodes. Along the way, you'll lose most of your equipment like the Varia Suit, Morph Ball, Missile Launcher, Grapple Beam, and Charge Beam. You'll also have your first encounter with Meta Ridley, the penultimate boss. You'll also follow him to Tallon IV, the main location in the game.

It is evident that Samus is a female character if you complete the game with a certain percentage since she takes off her helmet. This is also shown in other "Metroid" games.

Answer: There are only three Energy refillers

The Energy replenishers will refill 10, 20, and 100 Energy points, and they come in pretty colours like purple, red, and gold. To raise the amount of Energy you have, you'll need to use Energy Tanks, which are found all over Tallon IV. The same goes for if you want to hold more Missiles or Power Bombs; just find their expansions.

There are fourteen Energy Tanks on Tallon IV, forty-nine Missile Expansions, and four Power Bomb Expansions. The Missile Launcher can be found by defeating the Hive Mecha in the Chozo Ruins, and the Power Bomb is found in the Central Dynamo of the Phazon Mines. Cordite can be destroyed by Super Missiles, and Missile Reloading stations can be found in many locations from Chozo Ruins (Hall of Elders) to the Impact Crater.

There are none of these on the Space Pirate Frigate.

Answer: The Flamethrower requires ten Missiles to activate

The Flamethrower and Wavebuster are different from the Super Missile and Ice Spreader. Instead of shooting one large blast, the Flamethrower and Wavebuster require ten Missiles to activate, and then more missiles for every second of use after that. The Super Missiles are in the Observatory of the Phendrana Drift Labs, the Wavebuster is in the Tower of Light in the Chozo Ruins, the Ice Spreader is in the Shore Tunnel of Magmoor Caverns, and the Flamethrower is in Storage Depot A of Phazon Mines. One beam that remained unmentioned in the question was the Grapple Beam.

It's found in Storage Depot B of the Phazon Mines, and it's used to grapple across large gaps to important platforms. Samus originally had this technology on the Space Pirate Frigate, but it was damaged in an explosion.

The other beam remaining unmentioned is the Phazon Beam, but it's a component of the Phazon Suit.

Answer: The Thermal Visor's found in the Research Core in Phendrana Drifts

The Thermal Visor is important to use when Samus is literally left in the dark. This visor can also be used to find weak points in some enemies (like the boss in the Quarantine Cave, Thardus) as well as uncharged electrical conduits which can later be used to activate doors.

The X-Ray Visor is also used in the game to find hidden locations. The four Image Galleries unlocked in the game show many things from enemy design to Samus without her suit. When using the Scan Visor, simply hold the R button to scan an object, and L to aim the scanner. During some battles, you'll need to switch between visors to see the enemy.

Answer: The Boost Ball is found in Phendrana Canyon

The Boost Ball is the whole reason you'll arrive in Phendrana for the first time since you need it to get the Space Jump Boots back in the Landing Site in Tallon Overworld. The Spider Ball is acquired after beating the boss, Thardus, in the Quarantine Cave of Phendrana Drifts.

This object is later used to return to the Sunchamber in Chozo Ruins and reach the Plasma Processing Center of Magmoor Caverns (among other things). You'll have three rechargable Morph Ball Bombs in the game, but you'll have to pick up new Power Bombs. You can have up to eight of these at any time.

The Morph Ball is the second item you're likely to find in the game.

Answer: There's no Red Phazon in the Phazon Mines

Red Phazon is only found in the Impact Crater although Blue Phazon is found frequently in the Phazon Mines. Once you fight a large boss in the Phazon Mines, you'll acquire the Phazon Suit which will protect you from the substance. Metroids seem to mutate once exposed to the material, so it explains Hunter Metroids, and Fusion Metroids. Metroid Prime will often create puddles of Blue Phazon in its final form, and this is used to defeat the creature. Excluding the Impact Crater and Pirate Frigate, there are five major areas in the game that you must navigate and scour.

Including the Artifact of World, there are twelve other Chozo Artifacts in these areas.

Answer: Hunter Metroids have tentacles; Fission Metroids can split apart

Hunter Metroids can be found in only a few areas of the game (Phendrana Drifts and Phazon Mines), but Fission Metroids are only found in one place: The Impact Crater. Honestly, they're possibly the most annoying creatures in the game. You simply can not kill them, but if they're damaged enough, they'll split into new Fusion Metroids.

They'll follow you around the Phazon Core of the Impact Crater, knocking you off platforms, until you reach the door to Crater Tunnel B. Scarabs are found in Chozo Ruins, but there are creatures like Lumigeks and Parasites, which are similar to them in many ways. An Adult Sheegoth is found in the Chapel of Elders when you fight for the Wave Beam and in the Quarantine Cave after you defeat Thardus.

They can also replace Baby Sheegoths in various points around the Drifts. Space Pirates can come in many shapes and forms throughout the game.

Answer: Collecting all Log Book Scans gets you Image Gallery 2

In order to get Image Gallery 1, you need to collect half of the Log Book Scans in the entire game. There are only four Image Galleries in the game, and they can be accessed from the main game menu. Connecting "Metroid Fusion" to your Gamecube via the GBA/GCN Link Cable will give Samus the "Metroid Fusion" suit, but only if you've beaten "Metroid Prime". If you connect a completed version of "Metroid Fusion" to your Gamecube, you can play an original version of the NES game, "Metroid".

Answer: Flaahgra is found in the Sunchamber, not the Sun Tower

Although the Sun Tower can be found in the Chozo Ruins (hey, so can the Tower of Light), it's not the same as the Sunchamber. You'll need to pass through the Sun Tower when you obtain Thardus' Spider Ball in order to fight Chozo Ghosts for a Chozo Artifact.

Other bosses in this game include the Hive Mecha, Incinerator Drone, and Adult Sheegoth. Those are just in the first portion of the game though. Later, you can fight some interesting Space Pirate creations like the Elite Pirate and Phazon Elite in the Phazon Mines research center.

The Parasite Queen is your first boss of the game, and it's the only boss in the Space Pirate Frigate. Magmoor Caverns does not contain any bosses, and neither does the Tallon Overworld.

Answer: There are four subchambers

In the end, you'll need to fight the Metroid Prime's arachnid form through four subchambers. Each subchamber will introduce new attacks. For example, the creature will shoot slowly-moving charged shots. To defeat these, attack them with their own charged shots. During this battle, you can use Beam/Missile combos to attack the creature depending on the colour of its veins, but I suggest holding off on using the Flamethrower because of its short range and tendency to eat away at Missiles. After this, you'll fight the creature in its lair.

Avoid its wave quakes and wait for it to create a Blue Phazon puddle. Hop in and use the Phazon Beam to damage the monster. During this, Metroids may be created along with the Phazon, but you can destroy these with a Power Bomb. Also, the boss may disappear, so just flip through your visors until you can see it.

After the battle, you're done. Congrats!
