Metroid Prime Trivia Questions

1. Although your Power Beam isn't all that powerful, you can amp up it's destructive force with the Charge Beam. There's only one question: Where is it?

From Quiz
Samus's Arsenal 2

Answer: Chozo Ruins, Watery Hall

The Charge Beam can be found in the Watery Hall in the Chozo Ruins, and to get it, you'll need the Missile Launcher and the Morph Ball. You can find a Missile Expansion in both the Frigate Crash Site and the Triclops Pit, and an Energy Tank in the Ruined Courtyard.

2. This large room in the Tallon Overworld is where the Space Pirate frigate you boarded at the beginning of the game crashed. What is the specific name of this place?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Rooms

Answer: Frigate Crash Site

This is visited after defeating the Parasite Queen in the Space Pirate Frigate and having the frigate self-destruct. The remains fall to Tallon IV near where Samus has landed her gunship.

3. Who is the character you play as?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime"

Answer: Samus Aran

Samus was adopted by Chozos who gave her a power suit, and she became a bounty hunter. In "Metroid Prime", Samus follows a distress signal that's coming from a Space Pirate station.

4. What area of the game is home to the Sheegoth?

From Quiz Have a Great Time in "Metroid Prime"

Answer: Phendrana Drifts

There are two types of Sheegoths: Baby and Adult. The Baby Sheegoths can be defeated by destroying the ice on their backs. When you first fight the adult Sheegoth, you can only defeat it with either the Missiles or the Morph Ball Bombs. However, once you get the Plasma Beam you can defeat them with that by just simply shooting at them, actually making them easier to defeat than the babies.

5. When was "Metroid Prime" released?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Knowledge (GameCube)

Answer: 2002

The first "Metroid" game was released in 1986 on the Famicom. There has been other "Metroid" games released on the NES, Game Boy, Super NES, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, and Nintendo DS.

6. How many Elite Pirates are in the game?

From Quiz Metroid Prime

Answer: Three

The first Elite Pirate is fought in the Elite Control room in the Phazon Mines. You can easily defeat the pirate if you use the thermal visor and strike the plasma cannon with super missles.

7. Where in Chozo Ruins might we be if we're fighting the Incinerator Drone?

From Quiz Where on Tallon IV are We? Extreme!

Answer: Burn Dome

The Incinerator Drone is one of the minor bosses we'll fight in order to obtain the Morph Ball Bombs in the Chozo Ruins. In all of the choices listed, we'll be able to fight bosses as well. The Hive Totem contains the Hive Mecha, the Sunchamber contains Flaahgra, and the Ruined Shrine contains your first Plated Beetle. All of these locations also contain crucial weapons or accessories. To defeat the Incinerator Drone, you'll need to shoot his red 'eye' and make it attack the Ram War Wasp Hives on the ceiling.

8. Where are we if we're fighting a Chozo Ghost?

From Quiz Where on Tallon IV are We?

Answer: Chozo Ruins

Chozo Ghosts are only found in the Chozo Ruins and the Tallon Overworld. To defeat a Chozo Ghost, we can simply use charged or regular shots of the Power Beam, or we can use Super Missiles to make a quicker battle. Chozo Ghosts can be found in many locations in the Chozo Ruins later in the game such as the Hall of Elders, the Arboretum, and the Ruined Shrine. We can also find Chozo Ghosts in the Sunchamber and fight them for a Chozo Artifact.

9. How many Chozo Artifacts are there in the game?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" - The Chozo Artifacts

Answer: Twelve

These artifacts are found in five of the different regions throughout Tallon IV. In order to obtain them, you'll need to explode things, fight enemies, use weapons, and search the drifts, labs, ruins, caverns, mines, and overworld of the planet. Each artifact's name reflects something about the history, culture, and past of the Chozo.

10. How many Missiles does a Missile Expansion add to your total?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Accessories and Items

Answer: Five

After you locate your Missile Launcher in the Hive Mecha of the Chozo Ruins, you'll be able to start searching Tallon IV for your Missile Expansions. Overall, there are forty-nine Missile Expansions hidden in the game, so you should have a total of 250 Missiles. This can be very beneficial if you want to use the Wavebuster or Flamethrower.

11. Which button is pressed to use the Missile Launcher?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Offensive Weapons

Answer: Y

The Missile Launcher will be the first new weapon you'll come across in the game. Each Missile Expansion you find will add five Missiles to your grand total. Missiles will be an important commodity in this game since they will destroy many obstacles and enemies in the first half of the game. You'll eventually begin to use your Missiles with Beams and have powerful combinations.

12. Who is the female heroine of the "Metroid" series?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Mania

Answer: Samus & Samus Aran

Samus has been on countless adventures. This one takes place just after the first "Metroid" game.

13. Where do you find your first Chozo Artifact?

From Quiz Metroid Prime Tallon IV

Answer: Artifact Temple

You find the first one (Artifact of Truth) at the Artifact Temple. You need to find 11 more to get to the Impact Crater.

14. Approximately how many minutes do you have to evacuate the "Space Pirate Frigate" after defeating the "Parasite Queen"?

From Quiz Metroid Prime

Answer: 7 minutes

This is the only time during the game when you hear a human voice. The voice says, "Evacuate immediately". Samus makes grunts and other noises, but she doesn't speak words during the game. Other resources have stated that the voice is actually Samus's visor.

15. After Collecting all Missle Expansions, how many missles can you hold?

From Quiz Metroid Prime

Answer: 250

You can hold 250 after you collect all the missle expansions and regain your missles from the Hive.

16. What area is home to the Phazon Suit?

From Quiz Further in "Metroid Prime"

Answer: Phazon Mines

You get the Varia Suit in Chozo Ruins, and the Gravity Suit is found in the depths of Phendrana Drifts.

17. What is the main character's name?

From Quiz Metroid Prime

Answer: Samus Aran

Samus Aran is a female intergalactic bounty hunter.

18. When Samus arrives on Tallon IV, there's an upgrade that's not very far away from the Landing Site, in Tallon Overworld. Which one is it?

From Quiz Samus's Arsenal

Answer: Space Jump Boots

You can find the Space Jump Boots in the room called Alcove, and the door to it happens to be on the ledge right behind your ship. Unfortunately, it's too high for you to reach right when you land on Tallon IV, although some very resourceful players can get it at that time. You can find the X-Ray Visor in Tallon Overworld as well, but you can't get it until much later on in the game, and it's on the other side of Tallon Overworld. The Missle Launcher and Morph Ball can both be found in Chozo Ruins.

19. This room is in the Impact Crater. It is the largest room in the place and has Fission Metroids in it. What is this room called?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Rooms

Answer: Phazon Core

The Phazon Core is a very dangerous room, as the Fission Metroids follow Samus around and attack. The bright orange Phazon on the floor burns Samus' health away if touched.

20. What other game can be linked up with "Metroid Prime" to unlock extras?

From Quiz Have a Great Time in "Metroid Prime"

Answer: Metroid Fusion

If you've finished "Metroid Fusion" and you link the two games, you will unlock the original Metroid which you can then play. If you've finished "Metroid Prime" and you link the two games, you can then play through "Metroid Prime" with the Fusion Suit from "Metroid Fusion".

21. How many copies of "Metroid Prime" were sold in the USA and Europe to make it a Players Choice game?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Knowledge (GameCube)

Answer: 250000

The game was first announced in 2001 at E3 and was revealed shortly after to be played from a first-person perspective. Following the announcement and subsequent release of first screenshots, the nature of the game aroused the ire of "Metroid" fans who perceived it as a disgraceful transition into 3D.

22. Where is the Wavebuster located?

From Quiz Metroid Prime

Answer: Tower of Light

The Wavebuster is at the top of the tower, if you have the Gravity Suit, you can go in the water and find a Chozo artifact too. You need missles to do this side-quest.

23. Which boss do you fight in the Elite Quarters of the Phazon Mines?

From Quiz Spelling It Out - "Metroid Prime"

Answer: Omega Pirate

The Omega Pirate is the third-to-last boss in the game, and once he's defeated, you can claim the Phazon Suit. During the battle, you'll need to make use of your beams and visors as the boss turns invisible on you and unleashes specialized Space Pirates at most chances. In order to defeat the boss, you'll need to attack its Phazon plates on its arms and legs, and you'll need to attack it while it regenerates them over the pits of Phazon in the room. This may take a while, but after the battle, you'll be able to advance through the deeper parts of the Phazon Mines and the Impact Crater at the end of the game.

24. Where in Phendrana Drifts are we if we're obtaining the Thermal Visor?

From Quiz Where on Tallon IV are We? Extreme!

Answer: Research Core

The Thermal Visor is one of two acquirable visors in the game. To obtain it, we need to travel through the labs of the Phendrana Drifts, and navigate the corridors in order to reach the Research Core. Once we reach it, the lights will turn out, and we'll need to use the new visor to find our way out. Along the way, we'll encounter many Space Pirates and our first Metroids.

25. Where are we if we're getting hints to find the Chozo Artifacts?

From Quiz Where on Tallon IV are We?

Answer: Tallon Overworld

Hints can be scanned into our log book if we use the Scan Visor on the Pillars at the Artifact Temple. The Artifact Temple is located in the Tallon Overworld near the Landing Site. What else is interesting about the Artifact Temple? It's where we can get our first, early Chozo Artifact (after you get the Missile Launcher), and it's where we fight Meta Ridley and get a transport to the Impact Crater.

26. When you collect all of the Artifacts, what region of Tallon IV is unlocked?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" - The Chozo Artifacts

Answer: Impact Crater & The Impact Crater

The Impact Crater is the final location in the game. Not only can you find the final enemies of the game in this location, but you can also find Metroid Prime in this area. In the final rooms of the crater, you'll fight the boss through various subchambers until you reach the final location. The Impact Crater is filled with radioactive Red Phazon. Not even the newly acquired Phazon Suit will protect you from this.

27. What is not a room in the Chozo Ruins that will contain Chozo Ghosts?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Enemies

Answer: Reflecting Pool

The Reflecting Pool is a room next to the Hall of Elders, and you're more likely to find Stone Toads in there than anything. This room is also connected to the Antechamber (containing the Ice Beam), a Save Station, and two transport lifts. Chozo Ghosts often appear in groups of two or three, and all they'll do is shoot projectiles made of energy at you. This energy will disrupt Samus' visor and temporarily stop you from using beams. To defeat the Chozo Ghosts, simply use your Power Beam, charged shots, and Super Missiles. Defeating the ghosts in the Sunchamber will get you a Chozo Artifact.

28. The Hive Mecha will be your first boss on Tallon IV. How many times will the Hive Mecha turn before the battle is over?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Bosses

Answer: Three

The Hive Mecha won't actually attack you. It will, however, send Ram War Wasps at you to knock you off of your platform and into the acidic water. When you destroy all of the War Wasps, the machine will open and shine a red light at you. Simply shoot at this light and it will turn. Once this light has been destroyed four times, you'll beat the Hive Mecha and claim your Missile Launcher which was destroyed on the Space Pirate Frigate. If you go into the room behind where the Hive Mecha used to be, you'll also find an Energy Tank.

29. How much does a Large Energy replenish?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Accessories and Items

Answer: 20

There are three different energy replenishing items in the game. The smallest is purple and it restores only ten of your energy. The next, the Large Energy, will restore twenty, and the largest will restore one hundred energy. The largest one, Ultra Energy, is gold. Energy can be found in many places. You can recover some if you search through crates, or you can find some dropped by enemies. Although they won't entirely refill your health, a trip to a save station (or Samus' ship) will.

30. Where is the Charge Beam found?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime" Offensive Weapons

Answer: Chozo Ruins

The Charge Beam will give any of your beams the ability to gain more power and shoot a charged shot when you hold the A button. Using this Charge Beam, you can also create Missile/Beam combos (but only after they're found). The feature will also suck items like Missiles, health, and Power Bombs towards you if they're dropped by enemies or found in crates.
