Cid Kramer is the headmaster of Balamb Garden. He, in actual fact, is referred to as Headmaster in the game as if it were his name. He is different from all other Cid's of "Final Fantasies". He's good-natured and older in looks and mind. He and his wife ran an orphanage and both were also the founders of SeeD and Garden.

Angelo of course! Surprisingly, Angelo is actually female, as there is a reference at the Lunar Gate that they'd look after 'her'. Angelo performs many abilities in battle with Rinoa, learned by reading the Pet Pals magazines. Once she's performed her trick, Rinoa gives her a dog biscuit. Rinoa's final limit break is Wishing Star.

Tifa Lockhart and Cloud Strife are childhood friends and next-door neighbours in their hometown, Nibelheim. There, on the well, Cloud makes a solemn promise to her that he'll always protect her. Not long after that he signs up to become a member of SOLDIER and they don't see each other for a very long time. Tifa's kind exterior masks a fearsome side.

Her weapons are her hands and feet, sometimes wearing gloves, other times knuckle dusters. She also wears a red/pink ribbon on her left arm in memory of Aeris.

7th Heaven is the name of the bar. Located in the slums of sector 7 in Midgar, it acts as a base for the terrorist organization AVALANCHE. There is a pinball machine that disguises a secret elevator where AVALANCHE can reach their secret headquarters.

Squall and his rival Seifer were training, both using their weapon of choice-Gunblades, when things got a little out of hand and Seifer sliced Squall's face. In any garden it is mandatory to undertake theory and practical exams and throughout their time at garden, obey all rules. Rebellious natured Seifer did not qualify. *Seifer also received a lasting scar across his face, but never became a SeeD.

Yuffie is a cheeky, playful girl with a slick slight of hand. You first see Yuffie as the Mystery Ninja who runs about the place stealing materia. But you soon learn she is materia hunting to restore her home of Wutai to good health since the Wutai War left it so terribly wounded.

Well, the name sort of gives it away, doesn't it? Cid Highwind! The chain-smoking, foulmouthed pilot from a little place called Rocket Town. His assistant? His sweet wife Shera of course! There's a scene in the game when Cid's rocket is finally ready to take off when he realises Shera is still trapped inside and has to abort. Though he has such a rugged mannerism, his loyalty to his comrades and love for his wife proves there's more to him than 'bear gruff'.

Rinoa Heartilly is General Caraway's daughter. Caraway was there to comfort Julia Heartilly whilst she was distraught after her true love Laguna left Galbadia, breaking her heart in the process. Caraway and Julia later married and had baby Rinoa. Her and her father have a very gritty relationship as they proceed in opposing sides.

There are many scenes in the game that show he loves hotdogs. One being the ending scene where he finally gets his precious hotdog after missing out each time for being out of stock, only... He chokes on it. He is also seen clumsily riding around on his hoverboard in Balamb Garden.
