Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Since the end of 'Tour 1', Auron has been reunited with the gang and we learn about Maester Seymour. Now we continue the tour along Mi'ihen Highroad. Quick history question, who was Mi'ihen?

Answer: Founder of the Crusaders

When Mi'ihen founded them, they were originally called the Crimson Blades. As you found out in Besaid (If you talked to Luzzu and Gatta), the Crusaders' purpose is to chase away Sin if it attacks. Only a Summoner can truly defeat Sin. The information regarding Mi'ihen is given to you by Maechen, an old scholar you meet partway down Mi'ihen Highroad.

This is the first of many times that you will meet Maechen.
2. As you continue down Mi'ihen Highroad, you meet a range of new NPC's (Non-Playable Characters). Who of the following DOESN'T you meet on Mi'ihen Highroad?

Answer: Isaaru

You will meet Isaaru in the Djose Temple, which is a while away. Elma is a member of the Chocobo Knights, along with Lucile and Clasko. Belgemine is a summoner who helps Yuna with her summoning skills. Rin is an English speaking Al Bhed, famous for his global travel agency. He helps Tidus learn Al Bhed.
3. You wind up fighting a Chocobo Eater that has been...eating chocobos. Apart from dying, how many possible outcomes are there to this battle?

Answer: Three

One outcome is if the fiend pushes you off the cliff. After a certain number of attacks, the monster will use its long arms to force you back. From the starting battle position, it takes two pushes to knock you off.
The second outcome is if you push the fiend off the other cliff. When you've dealt 1,200 HP damage, it falls over. A few more attacks, and you can push it towards its doom. This also takes two pushes from the starting position.
The third outcome, is most obviously reducing its HP to 0.
4. At the end of Mushroom Rock Road, you fight Sinspawn Gui twice. In the second battle, you have the powerful Seymour on your side. What is the name of his overdrive?

Answer: Requiem

This battle is a result of Operation Mi'ihen, a plan to destroy Sin with the use of 'forbidden' machina.
It takes quite a while for Seymour's overdrive gauge to fill up. If you want to see this overdrive, get Auron and Yuna to attack him to fill up the gauge quicker. Requiem is a nasty looking pink-purple explosion, which unsurprisingly, deals a LOT of damage.
5. Sin wasn't defeated, and after Sin goes on a rampage, the motivated gang go to Djose Temple. As you know, you can receive a bonus item in each of the Cloister of Trials. What is the prize for Djose's trial?

Answer: Magic Sphere

After lighting up the icon in the centre, the icon turns into a platform to the next floor. However, if you go back down and examine the glyph to the left, you can get a destruction sphere. Then you can go back up, push the five pedestals into the wall, and place the destruction sphere in the newly formed pedestal. That's one more Magic Sphere for you.
6. Now it's onto the Moonflow, one of the weirdest and most beautiful places in Spira. What is the name of the large, elephant-like creature that takes passengers across the wharf?

Answer: Shoopuf

The Hypello are the water based creatures that speak in a weird way. ("Imposhibibble! Imposhibibble!"). They also drive the Shoopuf. Maechen is lurking around here, and has some information on the Shoopuf and the Hypello.
7. You meet up with Rikku, who becomes a guardian, and you have a set battle to demonstrate Rikku's overdrive 'Mix'. Which two of the same items does she mix in this demonstration?

Answer: Bomb Core

This mix results in fire storm, a series of explosions that result in the death of your opponent. This may appear strong now, but it turns out to be a fairly weak overdrive later on in the game, especially with mix results like doubling the HP of all your characters, and dealing 19998 damage to all opponents!
8. Now you enter the city of Guadosalam, home to the Farplane which is a place where you can see the departed. Why doesn't Auron visit the farplane?

Answer: He is 'dead', and his unsent body will be trapped in the farplane if he enters.

Auron is really unsent. You find this out later in the game, where Auron reveals that he tried to attack Yunalesca, because he was mad at the loss of High Summoner Braska and Jecht. Yunalesca mortally wounded Auron, and he crawled all the way back to the Calm Lands, where he finally dies. He didn't reach the farplane because of his promise to Jecht, which was to look after Tidus.
9. Onto the Thunder Plains now, a place of eternal thunderstorms. Your newest companion, Rikku, has a fear of lightning. Why?

Answer: She had a thunder spell cast on her when she was young.

This is revealed when you rest at Rin's Travel Agency. Apparently, she was attacked by a water fiend. Her brother, knowing that water is weak against thunder, cast a thunder spell, but it inadvertently hit Rikku.
10. How many lightning rods are there in the Thunder Plains?

Answer: Ten

There are four lightning rods in the south section, and six in the north section. It may first appear that there are only five rods in the northern section, but about halfway up this section there is a lightning rod in the distance across a pool of water to the left. It is hard to see, but it becomes visible when doing the Lightning Rod minigame in "Final Fantasy X-2".
