Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was originally supposed to be in the first "Mortal Kombat" but was replaced by Sonya Blade?

Answer: Kurtis Stryker

When designing the first ever "Mortal Kombat", the developers had intended for a male police officer named Kurtis Stryker to be in the game. They eventually decided to put Sonya in the game instead. Kurtis Stryker was also intended to be the name used for the character Jax in "Mortal Kombat 2".
2. In "Mortal Kombat 2" which of these characters did not make an appearance?

Answer: Mokap

Mokap didn't appear until "Deadly Alliance". Hornbuckel was the name of the human character that was standing on the bridge in the background of the Pit II. Blaze was the guy that was on fire in the background of the Pit II. Cloak was the name of the shadow priest that was in the background of the Tower level.
3. In one of the games the hidden version of Noob Saibot was in the shape of what character(s) that was not a human ninja?

Answer: Kano

Noob Saibot was only fought as a hidden character in "Mortal Kombat 3" through the use of a Kombat Kode. Since there weren't any human Ninja character models in the game the designers decided to go with a shadow version of Kano instead. Even though Sub-Zero is actually a Ninja his appearance was far different from one. Noob also had many of Kano's Moves.
4. Which of these characters was not a new addition in "Ultimate: Mortal Kombat 3" from "Mortal Kombat 3"?

Answer: Noob Saibot

Noob Saibot was a fightable character in "Mortal Kombat 3". Ermac was a completely new character to the "Mortal Kombat" series in "Ultimate: Mortal Kombat 3". Added characters included Classic Sub-Zero and Human Smoke which were not in "Mortal Kombat 3".
5. In "Mortal Kombat: Trilogy" what was the only stage from a previous game to have its stage fatality removed?

Answer: The Pit II

The problem with the Pit II was that the characters from installments of "Mortal Kombat" other that "Mortal Kombat 2" had never filmed the falling sequence. The programmers decided it was too much of a problem to bring in every actor to film it, so they just left it out. Neither the Armory nor the Bank ever had Stage Fatalities.
6. What character was supposed to be in "Mortal Kombat 4", but was switched for Tonya?

Answer: Princess Kitana

Kitana was supposed to be in "Mortal Kombat 4" but the designers wanted to add another new character to the game. Even though she was replaced, Kitana's coding remained in the game and in the N64 home version you could play as her through the use of a Gameshark code. Also you could use her move set in the PSX version by the same means.
7. Which of these characters do not die in their own ending for "Mortal Kombat Gold"?

Answer: Mileena

Mileena died in Kitana's ending but not her own. Reptile was killed by Quan Chi in his ending because they got in an argument. Baraka was also killed by Quan Chi in his ending because he tried to kill him.

Answer: Blaze

Blaze was seen on the bridge in the background of the Pit II stage along with Hornbuckle. The other characters were all new to the series in "Deadly Alliance".

Answer: Scorpion

Scorpion was supposed to be the champion of the elder gods in Konquest Mode when they were still going to use time travel. After they removed time travel they deemed it to confusing to have scorpion as the champion of the elder gods. He was replaced with Monster but retained the same move set.
