Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The hero of the game is Prince Alexander from ____________

Answer: Daventry

In the prologue to the game, Alexander is in Daventry thinking about Princess Cassima on the Isle of the Crown, when he sees her in the magic mirror in his father's kingdom, and sets out on a ship to find her. A storm crashes his ship, and while all the rest of the men on the ship manage to get back to Daventry, Alexander wakes up ashore on the Isle of the Crown.
2. Alexander finds out there has been quite a feud between the Isle of the Crown and how many other islands?

Answer: 3

The other 3 known islands are: the Isle of Wonder, the Isle of the Sacred Mountain, and the Isle of the Beast. There was rumor to a 4th island called The Isle of the Mist. Alexander was told this by the book keeper on the Isle of the Crown.
3. The kingdom on the Isle of the Crown is currently being controlled by Abdul Alhazred.

Answer: True

Abdul has with him a genie named Shamir Shamazel, who has a golden eye that always flashes, and a strange craving for mints. Abdul is always scolding Shamir for eating mints because they make him crazy.
4. To find Princess Cassima, Alexander must explore the feuding islands to get some answers, since the ferrys aren't running due to their poor condition, he realizes the only way he can travel to the islands is by a magic map that's kept in the pawn shop. What does he give the shop keeper in exchange for the map?

Answer: His royal insignia ring

Shamir was in the pawn shop when Alexander got the map and went back to the castle, unfortunately, he had been eating too many mints, and instead of saying "I saw a stranger, saying he's Prince Alexander of Daventry", he said "I saw a danger...a manger...no, a stranger! Who says he's Prince Salamander of Blaventry."
5. When Alexander goes to the Isle of Wonder, he first finds himself in trouble with the island's 5 guards.

Answer: True

The guards of the Isle of Wonder are 5 gnomes who kill any man who enters the island, all with one great sense: the first one has a huge nose for smelling an skunk-scented flower, the second has huge ears to listen to a wind-up nightengale, the third has a long tongue for tasting a mint, the fourth has large hands to touch a rabbit's foot, and the fifth has large eyes, but cannot see Alexander thanks to a bottle of invisible ink.

When the fifth can't see Alexander, he says, "By all that's beauty, fair and sightly, 4 morons do I sleep with nightly!"
6. What is the one known island that Shamir Shamazel is never seen on?

Answer: The Isle of Wonder

On the Isle of the Crown, he's a hooded figure, a snake, and a boy who goes swimming. On the Isle of the Beast, he is a gardener and a lizard. On the Isle of the Sacred Mountain, he's an old lady, and the Winged Ones' daughter, Lady Celeste.
7. On the Isle of the Beast, Alexander finds an empty hunter's lamp.

Answer: True

He keeps the lamp and uses it for a rain spell, then trades it to a man for a replica of Shamir's bottle.
8. There are 3 traps on the Isle of the Beast.

Answer: True

The first one is a boiling pond which Alexander cools down with a head of iceburg lettuce, the next is a statue with a bow and arrow that hits a shield instead of Alexander, and the final one is a self-growing hedge of vines that Alexander must chop through with a sickle.
9. On the Isle of the Beast, Alexander finds an odd-looking creature, that talks even odder. Where does this creature belong?

Answer: On the Isle of Wonder, he's a Dangling Participle

Earlier on, Alexander tried making a deal with a real bookworm for one of his books, some of the things he asked Alexander if he had for trade were: a dangling participle, a purple fiddle-whacker, and a marshpig that does taxes. He takes the dangling participle back to the Isle of Wonder, takes him to the bookworm and gets a trade for a joke book.
10. On the Isle of Wonder, Alexander finds a rotten tomato lying on the ground in the garden and decides to keep it. Why didn't he take one of the fresher tomatoes on the plant?

Answer: They weren't ripe enough yet

On the wall in the garden, there are grapes and the vines of which they grow on. If Alexander tries talking to the grapes, they complain about what a hard time they have. If he tries talking to the grape vines however, they choke him to death.
11. On the Isle of Wonder, Alexander comes across an oyster that can't sleep due to a pain in his mouth, what is the pain caused by?

Answer: A large pearl

Alexander manages to get the pearl from the oyster's mouth, and takes it back to the Isle of the Crown to get back his family's insignia ring.
12. When Alexander returns to the Isle of the Crown, he runs into the jester of the kingdom, what's his name?

Answer: Jollo

Alexander finds out from Jollo that Abdul has taken over the kingdom since Cassima's parents died six months ago.
13. After meeting Jollo, Alexander sees Cassima's songbird on a tree nearby. What is the bird's name?

Answer: Sing-Sing

Sing-Sing takes Alexander's ring to Cassima at the palace, making her realize he's on the island, and must watch out for Abdul.
14. On the Isle of Wonder, past the garden is another section called "Chessboard Land" where no humans are allowed. The red queen and white queen argue over who gets to hold what at Princess Cassima's wedding?

Answer: A lump of coal

The red queen explained she was supposed to hold the lump of coal, and the white queen was supposed to hold the island's singing stone, but it was captured and she had to hold the rotten egg instead. Their bickering over the coal came to an end when Alexander brought another piece to the white queen, and in trade, he got the rotten egg.
15. On the Isle of the Sacred Mountain, when Alexander reaches the top of the Cliffs of Logic, he hears of a beast called the Minatour that kidnapped the Winged Ones' daughter, Celeste, and is holding her prisoner in the Catacombs. Even after hearing of the Winged Ones' warriors who went in and died attempting to save her, Alexander decides to enter the Catacombs and bring her out alive.

Answer: True

The guards think he is a fool for going in to get killed, Alexander points out they are larger fools to just stand by and let their lady die.
