Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many upgrade/enhancement capsules are in this game?

Answer: Nine

Unlike most games that have four or eight Upgrade capsules, this one has nine. However, you will only be using five of these, the four that do the normal upgrades and one of five that gives your upgrades enhancements. One of these enhancement capsules is located in the first Doppler stage, and, unlike the rest that only enhance one of your upgrades, this one enhances all of your upgrades and makes your armor turn golden.
2. How many kinds of ride armors are there in this game?

Answer: Four

In this game, there are a total of four ride armors you can get, and each is good for a different situation. The base ride armor is called the Chimera ride armor, and is necessary to get to use the rest of the armors. The other three are: Frog Armor, Hawk Armor, and Kangaroo Armor.
3. Which of these stages does Vile NOT appear in?

Answer: Neon Tiger

In Neon Tiger's stage, you fight a centipede robot. In the other three stages, if you take an alternate route, you can fight Vile as a mid-boss, but it is not completely necessary to fight him, in fact if you don't, the second Doppler stage changes.
4. Which boss is weak to the Parasitic Bomb?

Answer: Blizzard Buffalo

Blizzard Buffalo, the ice maverick, is weak to Blast Hornet's weapon, the Parasitic Bomb. Blast Hornet is weak to Gravity Beetle's weapon, Gravity Beetle is weak to Neon Tiger's weapon, and Toxic Seahorse is weak to Blizzard Buffalo's weapon.
5. Which of these characters do NOT appear in this game?

Answer: Double

Double actually appears in "Megaman X4" in X's storyline. Vile, Bit, and Byte are bosses in this game, normally fought in the Doppler stages unless you defeat them in the Maverick stages beforehand. In this case, you will fight different bosses in the Doppler stages.
6. Is Zero playable in this game?

Answer: Yes

In order to play as Zero, press the start button, then press the R or L button, then press the fire button. If you havent used him in the stage previously, he will switch with X. There are a few downsides to Zero though. He can't go into most boss doors, and can usually be used for one-third of a stage. In addition, he only has one life, so if he dies, you can never use him again.
7. Does the Sony Playstation version of this game have FMV cutscenes?

Answer: Yes

In the Playstation version of this game, when you select a maverick, instead of getting the normal screen like the ones from "Megaman X" and "Megaman X2", as well as the Super Nintendo version of the game, you will get a FMV cutscene showing the Maverick you will be fighting in the environment of the level.
8. In the first two games, there was a special technique based off of the moves of Ryu from the "Street Fighter" series. In this game, what is the ultimate move of the game?

Answer: Zero's Saber

X gets Zero's saber in one way and one way only. You must defeat Vile before getting to the Doppler stages in order to do this. One has to beat the bug miniboss with Zero, and the miniboss will land on Zero when you defeat him, sending him down to one health and warping X in. A conversation occurs that concludes with Zero giving his saber to X.
The Hadouken and Shoryuken are from "Megaman X" and "Megaman X2", respectively
The Nova Strike is from "Megaman X8".
9. What is the OFFICIAL name for Sigma's second form?

Answer: Kaiser Sigma

Kaiser Sigma's weakness is the X Buster itself. Zero's saber also does a massive amount of damage to him, as it does to every other boss in the game. An interesting fact is that Kaiser was the title of the Holy Roman Emperors or the emperors of Austria or of Germany until 1918.
10. How do you defeat the final form of Sigma?

Answer: Run Away

You can not actually harm Sigma's final form, which is that of the literal Sigma Virus. You need to quickly wall-jump up a vertical hallway until you trigger a cutscene where either Zero or Doppler jump in and use an anti-virus to defeat Sigma. Whether Zero or Doppler appears depends on if Zero is still alive in the game.
