According to the manual, the Ancient sword has the power of Curse, but it is weaker than the Legend sword you receive atop Mt Ordeals. I tend to let Edge toss the Ancient sword at someone later in the game.

This might have been tricky as the way to beat Asura is to cast Wall on her so all of her healing spells are reflected to you. Wyvern and D. Lunar reflect spells off of their Walls to prevent you from reflecting them, while the CPU globe simply uses Wall to keep your good spells from hitting it.

In the beginning, Cecil steals Mysidia's water crystal. Later he reclaims Tororia's earth crystal from the Dark Elf, and borrows it to save Rosa. He acquires one of the dark crystals from the Sealed Cave in the underground, and then receives the Crystal from Golbez before the final battle.

Young Rydia can Fight, use Black, White, and Call magic, and use Items. Edge can Fight, Sneak, use Ninja magic, throw Darts, and use Items. Tellah also has Fight, Black, White, Recall, and use Items When Rydia grows up, she loses the ability to use White magic, but she becomes a much stronger Black wizard and Caller for having lost it.

In the battle with Zemus, FuSoYa and Golbez team up to cast W. Meteo, utterly destroying Zemus' body. Too bad for them that doing so releases Zeromus, the embodiment of Zemus' hatred.

When fighting them one by one in other places, you see Milon of earth atop Mt Ordeals, Kainazzo of water in Baron Castle, Valvalis of air atop the Tower of Zot, and Rubicant of Fire in the Tower of Bab-Il (overworld) in that order. The order is shuffled inside the Giant.

The whip in this game is reserved for Callers. The ultimate whip is the Flame whip, found in the Lunar Base underground labyrinth. But, if you want my opinion, let Rydia use the Stardust rod instead.

Odin is found under Baron Castle, appearing as the good King. Bahamut is found, oddly enough, in Cave Bahamut on the Moon. You must defeat Leviathan in the Land of Summoned Monsters in order to battle Odin and Bahamut, but to battle Leviathan, you must go through Asura first! Young Rydia summons a Titan in distress in Village Mist, but cannot formally summon it until she returns as an adult in the Castle of Dwarves.
