"Paper Mario" (N64) - Chapter 6 Quiz

Answer: Koopa Village

Four bulb creatures will be scattered across the world and to continue to find the Star Spirits, Mario must take the advice of Twink (with knowledge gained through a quiz in Peach's Castle) and head to Flower Fields. To do this, Mario must claim the seeds in the possession of these creatures. One can be found outside Tayce T.'s house in Toad Town, one is in the center of a section of Forever Forest, one is on Mt. Rugged, and the final one is in the jungles of Lavalava Island. To prevent Mario from accessing this area too soon, the one in Lavalava Island will not hand over their seed until after the completion of Chapter 5.

Answer: Toad Town

To enter Flower Fields, Mario must hand the four flower seeds to the gardener in the northern region of Toad Town (right outside the post office). When all four seeds are planted and the flowers have blossomed, a doorway (known as the Flower Gate) will appear in the center of the patch and Mario can enter it to commence the chapter and enter Flower Fields. All of the instructions on how to access this dungeon, a beautiful garden full of colour and life, are revealed when Princess Peach goes about her quiz game in her castle at the end of Chapter 5.

Answer: Petunia

As soon as Mario enters the Flower Fields, he will speak with a large tree (who also acts as a doorway) named Wise Whisperwood who claims that the land has been taken over and attacked by the evil Huff N. Puff and his horrible Puff-Puff Machine. To stop him, Mario will need to ascend into the clouds and put an end to the evil boss in a battle, but to do this there's a bit of running around.

The first order of business, according to the tree, is to head east to speak to Petunia who will have a Magic Bean.

This can be used to grow a beanstalk...but not yet. To earn it, Mario has to fight some moles.

Answer: Bottom left

The bottom left path will lead Mario down the second direction he must take in his quest. Posie, who guards the Crystal Tree, will reward Mario with Fertile Soil, necessary for growing the Magical Seed, Posie will prove important later on in the stage when Mario requires a Crystal Berry (which he must give to another flower down the left path.

The bottom right path leads to another important flower (necessary for the beanstalk to grow), the upper left path takes Mario to the Sun Tower, and the upper right path heads to the boss.

Answer: Water Stone

Heading down the lower right path, Mario will feed the Yellow Berries to a gatekeeper and cross the area to find a dried-up pond. At the bottom of an empty pool is Lily, a water-dwelling flower who, before Mario arrives, begs that a prince save her from her situation. Mario agrees to help find the Water Stone necessary for her to survive and he'll later discover it in the possession of another flower down the left passage. Handing off the Water Stone, Lily will reward Mario with Miracle Water which he can use to grow his beanstalk. Now all he needs is sunlight.

Answer: Rosie

Rosie, down the left path (at the end of a hedge maze) is the one who holds Lily's all-important Water Stone. Rosie also happens to enjoy herself a bit too much and suggests that if Mario ever wants the Water Stone, he'll have to replace it with something equally beautiful. If he wants to do that (and he does), he needs to speak to Posie down the lower left path.

After Mario finishes this run-around, saves Lily, and retrieves his last ingredient, he can head towards the upper left path to find a way to return the skies to their normal, sunny ways.

Answer: Lakilester

Heading to the upper left path (with a Bubble Berry) Mario will eventually come across the Sun Tower where a sad sun is unable to shine because of the evil Puff Puff Machine. Heading back to the upper right path, Mario will quickly come across Lakilester (who calls himself 'Spike') and he will proceed to fight Mario.

After a quick battle, Lakilester will join the team (becoming the final party member to do so. Going up the upper right path, Mario can destroy the Puff-Puff Machine once and for all and the sun can go back to shining over Flower Fields. Now what?

Answer: The boss will shed clouds

Oh right! Plant the Magical Seed using the Fertile Soil and Miracle Water on the plot in front of Wise Whisperwood and Mario will find himself in the clouds. Here, he'll fight the boss, Huff N. Puff, who was sent to create a land of clouds in Flower Fields.

When Mario destroyed the Puff-Puff Machine, he ruined the plan, so battle will ensue. During battle, every time Mario strikes Huff N. Puff, he'll shed clouds which he can then suck back in to refill health or with which he can attack. On top of this, a number of wind-based and lightning-based attacks will force Mario to take caution.

After the battle (during which the boss will have 60HP), Huff N. Puff will be no more.

Answer: Klevar

After defeating the boss, Mario will obtain the sixth of seven Star Spirits found in the game, Klevar, who seems to be quite the clever-looking star. Upon his addition to the group, Mario will receive a sixth bar for Star Power and the 'Time Out' attack which allows Mario to immobilize enemies that are affected by the technique.

This costs two bars of Star Power to cast. Following the chapter, Klevar will bring Mario and his partner back to the entrance of Flower Fields.

Answer: Sneaky Parasol

Peach wins the Sneaky Parasol by attending the quiz game after the previous chapter, stumbling upon it on one of the rooms of her castle. Using the Sneaky Parasol, Peach can cast her weapon and transform into any creature she comes across (without them looking, of course).

This allows her to access parts of the castle she couldn't before and she and Twink soon discover the location of the final Star Spirit. Of course, Kammy Koopa sees through the disguise and Peach is dragged back off to her room...like usual.
