Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Animal Crossing" was one of the most popular interactive games on the system. What piece of hardware was the game sold with?

Answer: Memory Card

Although the game could use the E-Reader and Game Boy Advance features, the "Animal Crossing" game was also released with a Memory Card that featured enough memory just for that game. Much like in "The Sims", players could interact with other characters, build their houses, and get jobs.

The game also spawned a sequel for the Nintendo DS called "Animal Crossing: Wild World", which made use of the Wi-Fi Connection to allow players to travel to other players' towns.
2. "The Wind Waker" wasn't the only "Legend of Zelda" game to have the Player's Choice title. Excluding "Twilight Princess", what is the only other Gamecube "Legend of Zelda" game (which also won the title)?

Answer: Four Sword Adventures

"Four Sword Adventures" also made use of the Game Boy Advance handheld and cable so that four players could join in and complete levels similar to those found in the Game Boy "Legend of Zelda" games. The game was played in a linear fashion, level after level, though players could return to past levels. With the multiplayer feature, players could also fight each other with various weapons. "Wind Waker" was released first and despite lower reviews than the Nintendo 64 "Zelda" games, it was successful enough to become a Player's Choice game.
3. "Mario Party 4, 5, and 6" all won the Player's Choice award.

Answer: True

All three of these were for the Gamecube, and none of its three predecessors won the Player's Choice award for the Nintendo 64. In "Mario Party 6", players began to use the Microphone, the newest Nintendo device, to control their characters in certain minigames.

In yet another sequel, "Mario Party 7" (also released for the Gamecube), up to eight players could join in for mini-game action!
4. Which James Bond (007) game did not win Gamecube's Player's Choice Award?

Answer: Rogue Agent

Although the three incorrect answers were popular games, "Rogue Agent" was panned by critics for its attempt to become the next "Goldeneye". Many of the stages in the game were dropped ideas from old "007" games and films, and only Judi Dench reprised her role in the game.

The other games listed were all on the sixth-generation systems (Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox) along with "From Russia with Love", the final James Bond video game for the generation, where Bond was voiced by Sean Connery himself.
5. Which of these "Resident Evil" games won the Gamecube Player's Choice title?

Answer: Resident Evil 0

Only three "Resident Evil" games won the prize for this system. Aside from the prequel to the series, "Resident Evil 0" (a Gamecube exclusive), the remake of the original "Resident Evil" and "Resident Evil 4" were deemed Player's Choice. Although "Resident Evil 2" won Player's Choice for the Nintendo 64, "Nemesis", the third title, did not win it on any system. "Code: Veronica" was also left off the list, and "Outbreak Files 1 and 2" were only released on the PS2.
6. Which "Pikmin" game does the main character have a time limit to complete the game?

Answer: Pikmin 1

Both "Pikmin 1 and 2" won the Player's Choice Award. In the first game, you play as Olimar, who has crashed the Dolphin spaceship onto the planet of the Pikmin. Before he runs out of carbon dioxide to breathe, Olimar must rebuild his crashed ship and use the Pikmin to do it.

In "Pikmin 2", Olimar returns to the planet with his somewhat-retarded co-worker, Louie, in order to earn money for Hocotate Freight in order to save it from bankruptcy.
7. Which of these "Star Wars" games was not a Player's Choice game?

Answer: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Although the official "Revenge of the Sith" game was released on many systems (including the Game Boy Advance"), it was not released on the Nintendo Gamecube, and could not be eligible for the Player's Choice title. Aside from the three incorrect answers, "Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike" and "Lego Star Wars" also won the title.

The "Rogue Squadron" games were the sequels to one of the top-selling "Star Wars" games for the Nintendo 64, "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron", which won its own Player's Choice award for that system
8. This exceedingly popular Gamecube title was one of the first to claim the Player's Choice award. Which game, taking up eleven blocks of memory, features Ness, Jigglypuff, and Falco?

Answer: Super Smash Brothers Melee

Following the release of the original "Super Smash Bros." on the Nintendo 64, players flocked to their local stores to buy the highly-acclaimed sequel, "Super Smash Bros. Melee" which added numerous characters, stages, and extra features. The game allowed players to unlock more than fifteen characters including Mewtwo, Pichu, and Jigglypuff from "Pokémon" as well as Ganondorf and Young Link from the "Legend of Zelda" series. Completing different tasks could also earn players trophies.
9. Which of these Player's Choice games was first to be released?

Answer: Luigi's Mansion

"Luigi's Mansion" was one of the launch titles for the Gamecube and because of this it was one of the first to be graced with the title. All of the other answers claimed the title following this. Mario games have had enormous popularity over the years and nearly every one has claimed a Player's Choice.

Others include "Mario Superstar Baseball", "Mario Kart: Double Dash", and "Mario Tennis".
10. What Wario game, released in 2003, won the Player's Choice award?

Answer: Wario World

After the events of a previous game, a mysterious Black Jewel transforms Wario's riches into evil creatures and he must travel to a new dimension to change the evil creatures back into coins and reclaim his treasure. Being similar to the controls of "Super Mario Sunshine", "Wario World" was popular with players.

In fact, it was popular enough to generate enough sales to win the Player's Choice award.
