Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following is NOT true regarding the starter Pokemon for "Pokemon Legends: Arceus"?

Answer: They all originated in the same region

The starters for the game are the grass-type Rowlet, the fire-type Cyndaquil and the water-type Oshawott. Each of these Pokemon was once a starter option in a different Pokemon region: Rowlet from Alola, Cyndaquil from Johto and Oshawott from Unova. Unusual for "Pokemon" games, the starter Pokemon can also be caught in the wild like most other Pokemon.

The final evolutions of the starter Pokemon also have new Hisuian forms. Rowlet will eventually evolve into Hisuian Decidueye which is a grass-fighting type instead of the usual grass-ghost. Cyndaquil will become Hisuian Typhlosion which is now a fire-ghost type instead of the standard fire-only. Oshawott will become Hisuian Samourott which is now a water-dark type instead of solely water.
2. "Pokemon Legends: Arceus" is set in the Hisui region which is the historical counterpart to which main game series region?

Answer: Sinnoh

Hisui is the historical name for Sinnoh, the region visited in "Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl" (3DS). The game takes place during the time when Hisui was being settled by the Diamond and Pearl clan, a millennium after the first humans lived there.
3. Which of the following Pokemon is a rideable Pokemon?

Answer: Wyrdeer

The player character can ride a few different Pokemon to help him or her on the journey. The first rideable Pokemon encountered is Wydeer, which helps the player move faster. In addition, there is Ursaluna who can sniff out hidden items, Basculegian who can surf on the water and Hisuian Braviary who can carry the player in its talons in the sky. Sneasler can climb mountainsides and transport the player to previously unreachable heights.
4. Mai, Arezu, Iscan, Melli and Sabi are the wardens from which clan?

Answer: Diamond Clan

In reference to the original Sinnoh games, the two warring clans in "Pokemon Legends: Arceus" are the Diamond and Pearl clans. The Diamond clan is led by Adaman and believes the god Sinnoh created time. The Pearl clan is led by Irida and believes Sinnoh created space.

Mai, Arezu, Iscan, Melli and Sabi are the five wardens of the Diamond clan who watch over the ride Pokemon. Lian, Calaba, Palina, Ingo and Gaeric are the wardens of the Pearl clan who watch over the noble Pokemon who have become frenzied during the main game.
5. At the beginning of the game, who rescues the player character after he or she is transported to Hisui through the rift in spacetime?

Answer: Professor Laventon

The game begins when the player hears the voice of the legendary Pokemon Arceus. He or she is then suddenly sent through a rift in the spacetime and transported to a beach in Hisui. Professor Laventon is the first person the player meets in Hisui. Laventon is a somewhat scatterbrained Pokemon professor working on a project to document all of Hisui's Pokemon.

He brings the player into Jubilife Village and provides him or her with shelter and food.
6. What is the typing of Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine?

Answer: Fire/Rock

Growlithe and Arcanine are normally pure fire types. However, this game introduced the regional form of Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine who are fire/rock types. Both Pokemon look relatively similar to their standard counterparts but have more fur and are a darker red in color.
7. Who is the leader of the Galaxy Team?

Answer: Kamado

Galaxy Team (the precursor to Team Galactic) is a group of people from other regions of the Pokemon world who assembled to study Hisui. They are led by Kamado who operates the headquarters from Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village. There are different factions within Galaxy Team.

There is the Survey Corps who are the explorers of the land and Pokemon, the Security Corps which defends the village and escorts researchers and other groups.
8. "Pokemon Legends: Arceus" introduced a new legendary Pokemon named Enamorus who is a fourth member of which previously introduced trio?

Answer: Forces of Nature of Unova

Enamorus is a fairy/flying type member of the Forces of Nature which also includes Landorus, Thundurus and Tornadus. Unlike her counterparts, Enamorus is female while the others are male. Like her brethren, she has both an incarnate form and therian form. In her therian form, she takes on the appearance of a tortoise.
9. Which of the following can happen to a Pokemon in "Pokemon Legends: Arceus"?

Answer: They can be poisoned

The poisoned status condition remains in the game as does burn and paralysis. However, sleep and frozen have been removed and replaced with drowsy and frostbite. Drowsy works like paralysis in that a Pokemon afflicted with the condition may not be able to attack and frostbite works similar to poison and burn.

Flinching has been removed from the game, thus moves that cause flinching will instead cause the receiving Pokemon to lose speed instead. Pokemon cannot hold items in this game as they could in many previous installments but items can still be used on them. In addition, abilities have been removed.
10. What does it mean when a Pokemon has mastered a move?

Answer: The Pokemon can use that move in either the Strong or Agile style

When a Pokemon has mastered a move, it means it can use that move in one of three ways. It can use it the standard way like always. However, a mastered move has two additional styles: strong and agile. Strong style increases the power and effects of a move but slows down the action speed. Agile style increases the action speed (making it more likely the Pokemon will have more chances to attack) but decrease the power of the move.
