Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Train Derailment', the first scenario of the game follows the prequel to the original "Resident Evil". Which of these would that game be?

Answer: Resident Evil Zero

"Resident Evil Zero" (and the 'Train Derailment' scenario) begin with S.T.A.R.S. rookie Rebecca Chambers reaching train known as the Ecliptic Express and discovering that the people inside are undead creatures. She joins forces with escaped convict Billy Coen (who has his own hidden backstory) to escape, but after a face-off against leech monsters and a giant scorpion they follow the tracks to a research center at the end of the line (and they crash).

This center is discovered to be a mansion and laboratory operated by the Umbrella Corporation and is likely to be the point of origin of the T-Virus.

Their journey through this structure includes more leech monsters, infected test animals (monkeys) and a face-off against a mutated bat on the top of a church.
2. In the final episode of the 'Train Derailment' scenario, Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen face off with a creature with weakness to which of these?

Answer: Sunlight

Rebecca and Billy make their way into the depths of the research laboratory and search for answers only to find tyrant creatures, zombies, and more leeches. The final battle pits the duo against the true mastermind of this scenario, James Marcus, who was killed many years ago by Umbrella's head researchers but resurrected by the T-Virus infected leeches.

The final battle involves a self-destructing facility, a ride up a rather slow tram car with a giant leech hybrid chasing behind, and a fight on the surface in which you need to shoot the Marcus creature until he crawls into sunlight. One characteristic of the infected creatures in "Zero" is their aversion to light, so this will temporarily put you at an advantage.

When the Queen Leech is defeated, Rebecca and Billy will part ways; billy will go on the run to escape authorities while Rebecca will attempt to join the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team at the Spenser Mansion (in "Resident Evil 1").
3. Which of these characters is playable in the 'Beginnings' side-story?

Answer: Albert Wesker

In 'The Beginnings', Wesker, discovering the occurrences in the mansion training facility to be relatively unwinnable, decides to move on to the next phase of the Umbrella issue and makes his escape from the facility in this side-mission. Although many of the regular enemies from the 'Train Derailment' stages (excluding the leech B.O.W.s) are fought, this section also introduces the Crimson Head and infected spiders.

When Wesker makes it back to the derailed train he'll battle Ivan, a rather bulky Umbrella figure, until he can make his escape.

After these missions he'll head to the Spenser Mansion to meet up with the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team. This side-mission is only completable after you finish all of the 'Train Derailment' missions featured in the "Resident Evil Zero" storyline.

There are only two parts to it.
4. When Chris and Jill embark on their journey through the 'Mansion Incident', they encounter which of these creatures?

Answer: Crimson Head

Chris, Jill, and Wesker end up entering the Spenser Estate in the 'Mansion Incident' scenario. This particular series of missions is meant to recreate the events of the original "Resident Evil" game on the Playstation and Gamecube. As they make their way through the mansion killing Zombies, Cerberus, and killer crows, they will encounter super-powered zombies known as Crimson Heads.

These creatures are red, run fast, and have sharper claws with which to slice at the player. In the original game, these were only created if Chris or Jill neglected to set the zombie corpses on fire with kerosine.

In this game, they just happen to show up just about everywhere. When they reach the library, they'll also face off against Yawn, a giant snake infected with the T-Virus.

They'll also come across Rebecca Chambers (who was in the first missions of "Umbrella Chronicles") and a wounded Richard Aiken before making their way to the guest house.
5. By the end of the 'Mansion Incident', Chris and Jill have fought all of the following animals except which?

Answer: Monkey

To continue on their search in and around the mansion, Chris and Jill head to the guest house nearby (where they fight snakes en route, giant spiders, and the horrible Plant 42) before returning to the mansion to search the basement for clues. This trip underground is an unsafe one; they encounter several spitting zombies, Chimeras, and Hunters, some of the strongest creatures thus far.

When Chris and Jill reach the basement of the labs here, they find Wesker, who reveals his involvement in this horrible plot and unleashes the Tyrant while he escapes.

This battle makes its way to a helipad where you'll need a rocket launcher to kill the creature. If you complete the 'Mansion Incident', you may also unlock a scenario for Wesker called 'Rebirth' in which he fights Lisa Trevor.
6. Who is the playable character in the 'Nightmares' side-scenario?

Answer: Rebecca Chambers

In the 'Nightmares' sidestory (unlocked after completing the 'Mansion Incident'), Rebecca Chambers and Richard Aiken head out from the guest house (facing off against an overwhelming number of giant spiders) and try to reach the Spenser Mansion. This trip, of course, is plagued with other infected animals including crows, wasps, dogs, and people. If you happen to be able to survive this animal onslaught and score an A ranking on the file, you'll unlock a second 'Nightmares' level which ends with a boss fight against Yawn.
7. The 'Raccoon's Destruction' storyline occurs at the same time as which of these games?

Answer: Resident Evil 2

While 'Raccoon's Destruction' follows the storyline of the third "Resident Evil" game, that game's timeline also runs parallel to Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield's encounters in Raccoon City in "Resident Evil 2". "Resident Evil 3", on the other hand, involved Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliviera's journey through the city streets in a seemingly post-apocalyptic version of Raccoon City.

This trip headed through apartment buildings, a subway tunnel, a police station, etc. If you receive an A rank in the final chapter of 'Raccoon's Destruction', you'll unlock another parallel storyline involving Ada Wong, a character who was in Raccoon City in "Resident Evil 2" at the same time.
8. What is the name of the final boss in the 'Raccoon's Destruction' story?

Answer: Nemesis

As 'Raccoon's Destruction' follows "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis", it makes sense for the final boss to be this super-powered Umbrella BOW on a mission. The last chapter of this file will take Jill and Carlos to the police station where they'll need to ascend to the roof (through a zombie-filled structure) and face off against this creation designed to kill S.T.A.R.S. members like Jill. This battle isn't meant to be an easy one; Nemesis is a complicated tank of a creature and unloading a lot of rounds is essential. If they defeat Nemesis, they'll escape the city before it's nuked into oblivion. That's not the end of the zombie apocalypse, though.
9. In the final scenario of the game, 'Umbrella's End', you play as Jill Valentine or which other character?

Answer: Chris Redfield

The 'Umbrella's End' scenario is a difficult one, even for skilled players, simply due to the frequency at which enemies attack. Almost every enemy of the game will throw itself at the duo as they make their way through this completely new location in the "Resident Evil" series.

After three chapters, they'll face off against Talos, a horrible Tyrant creature with a large gun. To play 'Umbrella's End', you need to have completed both of Wesker's previous side-stories and beaten 'Raccoon's Destruction'. If you can beat all the rest of the scenarios in the game, you'll also unlock a final Wesker side-story, 'Dark Legacy', which follows the events shortly before "Resident Evil 4".
10. "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" was followed up by what game in the series?

Answer: Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

After the events of "Umbrella Chronicles" end, players can try their hand at the other side of the story involving Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield in "Darkside Chronicles". This particular game includes the events of "Resident Evil 2", "Resident Evil Code: Veronica" and a number of extra missions never-before-seen in the "Resident Evil" universe involving Leon and his partner (seen in "Resident Evil 4"), Jack Krauser. The events of this game precede "Resident Evil 4" while "Resident Evil 5" would appear on a later system. Like "Umbrella Chronicles", "Darkside Chronicles" is a rail shooter.
