The United Earth Directorate set out from Earth much later, at the discovery of the Zerg and Protoss.

The Terran Dominion was created when Arcturus Mengsk overthrew the Confederate Government. The Black Sun Pirates are a large criminal organization from the "Star Wars" series.

Answer: Daggoth

After Tassadar of the Protoss destroyed the Overmind, the Overmind's previous right hand man, Daggoth, merged with other cerebrates to form a second Overmind. Zasz was the first cerebrate to be eliminated by the Protoss, and Kerrigan was an infested Terran. Jormungand was the name of one of the Overmind's best broods.

The Arclite cannon was first intended to be a stationary heavy final defense gun. However, the developers decided that it was more important for the support to follow the infantry, and they gave the tanks tracks for mobility. After a while, researchers found a way for the tanks to efficiently switch between the tracked and the stationary modes, providing heavy mobile firepower to the front lines.

The C-17 Wraith was designed to be a small, agile fighter that could deal great damage to capital ships before taking major damage. The C-17G was outfitted with a light burst laser in the belly to compensate for the lack of ground attack ability.

The long civil war fought between the multiple tribes of the Protoss was called the Aeon of Strife. The Aeon of Strife came after a period where the Xel'Naga left its creation, leaving the Protoss feeling abandoned.

Marshal Raynor eventually left the Confederate to join the Sons of Korhal. Right before Mengsk triumphed and conquered the Confederacy, Raynor left the so-called Dominion, disillusioned by Mengsk's sacrifice of Kerrigan.

The Psi Emitter was planted in the Confederate base by the Sons of Korhal, and the Zerg arrived and destroyed the base. Arcturus Mengsk showed no remorse for this brutal strategy, and this action alienated many of his commanders.

The Khala united most of the Protoss tribes after the Aeon of Strife, and those who did not embrace the Khala were driven away and branded the Dark Templar. The Khala was a channel of power shared by all Protoss, except the Dark Templar. The movement to join the Khala was spearheaded by a hero named Adun.
