Despite fighting Shang Tsung as the final boss of "Mortal Kombat", according to the storyline it was Prince Goro who Liu Kang defeated to win the tournament. Shang Tsung then challeneged Liu Kang to combat and was defeated by Liu's trademarked Flying Kick (taught to him by martial arts master Bo' Rai Cho).

Reptile has appeared in six games since being the only official secret character of "Mortal Kombat", later appearing in "Mortal Kombat II, Trilogy, Gold and Deadly Alliance" as playable characters as well as appearing as an enemy/versus mode character in "Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks" and like most characters as a cameo in "Mortal Kombat Deception"'s Konquest Mode. Smoke and Noob-Saibot have appeared in 5 games respectivley and Jade has appeared in 4.

Cyrax, Kabal, Motaro, Nightwolf, Sektor, Sheeva, Sindel, & Stryker were all brand new characters to the series. Jax, Kano, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Shao Kahn & Sub-Zero all returned from previous games. Smoke had only appeared previously in human form but is still considered to be the same character as he is merely a cybernetically enhanced version of himself.

Goro & Kintaro have no endings, and completing the game with Shao Kahn or Motaro simply results in the message ____ Wins! Chameleon is the final character to have no ending. Interestingly Khamelon (the female colour-swap ninja present instead of Chameleon in the N64 version of the game) has an ending and storyline whereas Chameleon has neither.

"Mortal Kombat Gold" featured the entire playable cast of "Mortal Kombat 4" plus Cyrax, Mileena, Kitana, Kung Lao & Baraka and the hidden characters Sektor, Goro, Noob-Saibot & Meat. A 25th fighter named Belokk was intended to appear within the game but was cut, at first thought to be a rumour, Eurocom acidentally sent information to a magazine and 6 screenshots of him were published.

As with most Mortal Kombat games most characters' endings show them triumphant so many possible winners are proposed but as of Mortal Kombat Deception it is revealed that Li Mei's ending is accurate and she won the Deadly Alliance's tournament only to have her soul transplanted into one of the undead soldiers.

The Deadly Alliance then do battle with the heroes and kill them however none of the main characters were involved in the tournament.

When Havik is knocked off of the sky tower and is plumeting to the ground he shouts "Ah man, this is gonna suck" then keeps screaming like the other characters. This is odd as Havik worships Chaos and rarely disapproves of anything violent or chatoic.

Performing a fatality on Hanzo Hazashi aka Scorpion at the beginning of the game results in him visiting and fighting you in undead form in the Netherealm Prison, sparing him will result in Shinnok visiting you. You can perform a fatality on Sareena towards the end of the game though sparing her results in a much easier fight against Quan Chi.

Sonya and Kano were not playable but did appear chained up on the final level on either side of Shao Kahn's throne. Kabal did not appear until "Mortal Kombat 3", Goro was abscent between "Mortal Kombat 1 & 4", and Ermac did not offifically appear until "Mortal Kombat Trilogy".

Answer: Sub-Zero & Raiden

Sub-Zero has appeared in every single Mortal Kombat game (well it was 2 different characters but the name remains the same) as has Raiden (hidden in "Mortal Kombat 3"). Liu Kang did not appear in "Mortal Kombat Mythologies Shaolin Monks" and Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung do not appear in "Mortal Kombat Gold".
