Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Master Sword, Hookshot, Ocarina

Answer: Link

Link is the protagonist in the majority of the "Legend of Zelda" series games. Across his many appearances, he uses a variety of weapons. Most notable is the Master Sword, a legendary sword that can only be wielded by the Hero of Time. His arsenal of weapons typically include a hookshot, a device that Link can aim at a target and will propel him to that target. Link also can play a variety of musical instruments.

His most famous instrument is the ocarina (in various forms). Typically, his ocarina songs have some kind of power like the ability to turn night into day or transport him to a particular place.
2. Potion, Max Repel, Ultra Ball

Answer: Pokemon Trainer

In main series "Pokemon" games, the trainer/player captures Pokemon in balls with the Ultra Ball being among the strongest, most accurate. Potions are used to heal Pokemon and Max repels are sprayed to prevent wild Pokemon from appearing in tall grass, caves, water or wherever else they could appear.
3. Fire Flower, Mushroom, Go-Kart Wheel

Answer: Mario

Mario has appeared in a wide variety of games of his decades in the public eye. In many games, he can use a Fire Flower to gain the ability to throw fire balls to shoot at enemies from afar. Mushrooms typically add a life to Mario or power his abilities.

In some games, like in the "Mario Kart" franchise, mushrooms will cause Mario to speed up. Also in the "Mario Kart" games, Mario will hold on to the go-kart wheel as he drives his vehicle through a bunch of wild (and not so wild) courses.
4. Bug Net, Fishing Rod, Watering Can

Answer: "Animal Crossing" Villager

From the very first "Animal Crossing" (N64) games, the villager character has been able to catch bugs in his or her bug net, fish with a fishing rod and water flowers with the watering can. Maintaining a beautiful town has long been a staple of the series. In addition, the villager can dig for fossils, dive in a bodysuit and climb with a ladder.
5. Piece of paper, lawyer badge, Magatama

Answer: Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright is the titular "Ace Attorney" in the franchise of the same name. He is a defense lawyer who often winds up with difficult clients with clear cases against them. While at the bench, Phoenix frequently reads from a piece of paper which contains testimonial contradictions to a witness.

He often flashes his lawyer's badge in order to gain trust with a client. Another tool in his arsenal is the magatama charm which allows him to see and break psyche-locks, representing a suspect's darkest secrets.
6. Monokuma coins, Truth bullet, e-Handbook

Answer: Makoto Naegi

Makoto Naegi is the protagonist in "Dangonronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc" (PSP and rereleased for Switch), a dystopian game featuring gifted children trapped in a high school and forced to kill each other to escape (somewhat similar to the Hunger Games). Along the way, Makoto can collect Monokuma coins which he can use to purchase small presents to give to the other students to befriend them. Makoto uses truth bullets during the class trials which he uses to counter arguments and inaccurate claims made by the others. Every student is given an e-Handbook which they can use to access certain parts of the school and contains information about the school rules and the other students.
7. A puzzle, Hint coins, Teacup

Answer: Hershel Layton

Professor Hershel Layton first appeared in "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" (DS). He is an archeologist and professor who solves complicated mysteries and puzzles with his young apprentice, Luke Triton. Frequently, he is given or gives out puzzles to his partners or strangers.

In-game dialogue seems to indicate Layton always has puzzles in his pockets. Hint coins can be used to make puzzle solving easier. Layton, ever the British gentleman, is fond of tea and is a connoisseur of sorts.
8. Sunseed berry, Bulborb, Ship parts

Answer: Pikmin

Pikmin are tiny little creatures first introduced in "Pikmin" (Gamecube) in 2001. They are plant-animal creatures. They come in a variety of colors and each color has its own strength. Captain Olimar (and others) control the Pikmin which are helpful in various ways. Most notably, Pikmin will work together to transport items back to Olimar's spaceship.

In the first game, Pikmin will collect parts of his spaceship. Pikmin will also carry a variety of Earth fruit back to the ship to make juice.

A sunseed berry is Pikmin-terminology for a strawberry. Pikmin will also fight a variety of enemies including the Bulborb and carry the body back to the ship for a reward.
9. Rainmaker, H-3 Nozzelnose, Super Sea Snails

Answer: Inklings

Inklings are the playable characters in the "Splatoon" series, which first debuted on the Wii U. They are humans that transform into squid to travel through ink. "Splatoon" is a shoot-em up game involving colored ink (or paint) with different formats. One of the formats is called "Rainmaker" where Inklings must transport a powerful weapon called a rainmaker to their opponents' side of the course. Each Inkling can use one of dozens of weapons. One of these weapons is the H-3 Nozzelnose.

Inklings can participate in events called Splatfests to earn Super Sea Snails which can be traded for upgrades and new gear.
10. Green cap, Poltergust 3000, Baseball bat

Answer: Luigi

Luigi is Mario's brother who wears all green, including his trademark cap with an L on it. In the "Luigi's Mansion" series, Luigi uses the Poltergust 3000 (or any variation of the original) to fight and catch ghosts. Luigi also appears in the "Super Mario Sluggers" games where he and the rest of the gang play baseball.
