Question 1 of 10
1. The first game I ever played on the XBox 360 was a fun adventure game based on three movies from a certain franchise, but with a twist: there is no spoken dialogue, and enemies and objects will crumble into little building blocks when you destroy them. The main character is wearing a characteristic hat, always carrying a whip, and won't go near a certain wriggling animal. Which game is it? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. It was this complex sequel to a successful role-playing game that really sparked my interest in video games. While there is of course a main storyline, it is the side quests and extras that really show the creativity (and humor!) behind this. In which game do you shoot foul-mouthed gargoyles from high places, have statues of yourself commissioned, interact with more or less enigmatic doors, and get achievements for things such as having a debauched bedroom party or teaching your dog new tricks? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. In this Wild West adventure, you can play games such as "Five Finger Fillet" and "Liar's Dice", decide whether you want to be good or evil, break wild horses by not falling off, and go on increasingly tricky treasure hunts. Which award-winning game is it? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. My first very own XBox 360 game, and the first one which I played from beginning to end including all the achievements, is based on a popular mystery TV series. You are playing as a plane crash survivor not included in the original TV show, trying to piece together your previous life by taking pictures with your camera and exploring the strange island on which you are stranded. Which game is it? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. I am not much into shooters and I tend to confuse them all. The only thing about this one that I remember clearly is a square in front of a couple of apartment buildings with a rusty Ferris wheel. That Ferris wheel is actually located in the Ukrainian ghost town of Pripyat, abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. A game from which series is using that haunting location? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. In this role-playing game, you are one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; more precisely, War, who has been double-crossed and must now set out to exact his revenge. You gain power and regenerate health by absorbing the souls of the enemies you defeat. Which visually impressive game is it? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. This zombie action game was conceived as a homage to the movie "Dawn of the Dead". The protagonist is a photographer trapped in a mall with millions of zombies, and the main goal (apart from finding the cause of the zombie plague) is to fight and kill those (un-)dead people with anything that might come in handy as a weapon. You can also take spectacular photos. Which game is it? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. This cute game requires you to have a set of little figurines which you put on a "portal" that is connected to the console via USB. Those figurines will then become playable. Your progress will be stored in the figures, so if you level up and then take the physical figure to a friend's place, it will still be at the same level you achieved before. A minimum of eight is required for 100% completion of the game. Which XBox 360 game is it? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. What is the series of role-playing games that includes "Oblivion" and "Skyrim", among others?

Answer: (Two or Three Words)
Question 10 of 10
10. There are a number of "Lego" video games out there for the XBox 360. They are all similar in the way they are designed, and some general principles apply to all of them. Which of the following is not one of the things that ALL the "Lego" games have in common? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Lego Indiana Jones

Not too long ago I used to be unable to tell an XBox from a PlayStation. Fortunately, that is no longer the case, as I enjoyed "Lego Indiana Jones" immensely. It is still my favorite among the "Lego" games, which include "Lego Batman", "Lego Star Wars", "Lego Harry Potter" and "Lego Pirates of the Caribbean", among others.
The "Lego" games are all based on the respective movies, so you replay the story in a Lego universe. They are funny and original, and perfect for playing in co-op mode.

Answer: Fable II

This wonderfully complex, creative and funny game is my absolute favorite. It gives you pretty much all the freedom you want in exploring the world, Albion, and you can thus pass hour upon hour without actually proceeding with the main storyline.
3. In this Wild West adventure, you can play games such as "Five Finger Fillet" and "Liar's Dice", decide whether you want to be good or evil, break wild horses by not falling off, and go on increasingly tricky treasure hunts. Which award-winning game is it?

Answer: Red Dead Redemption

"Red Dead Redemption" won a well-deserved Game of the Year Award in 2010. It has a lot to offer for both the casual gamer and the obsessive one. It is an open world game, so you can choose your missions freely and are allowed to digress from the main storyline to complete some side quests whenever you feel like it.
Co-op mode is only available online.

Answer: Lost: Via Domus

"Lost: Via Domus" is an extension of the TV show but not strictly considered part of the canon of the show (unlike the "Lost Experience" alternate reality game, for example). But the style of the game is much like the first few seasons of the series itself: you are a survivor of flight 815 who lost his memory in the crash.

As you explore the island and discover familiar places (like the Swan Station or the Black Rock or even the Dharma van for an achievement), the story gets interrupted by flashbacks which you have to figure out in order to remember who you are and why you were on the plane.

Some characters from the original TV show also make an appearance.

Answer: Call of Duty

I have never played this particular game but I have watched my boyfriend play it. On one of these occasions, I spotted the Ferris wheel in the game, which I had happened to come across in a documentary barely two days previously. "Call of Duty" is a game franchise that puts the player in the shoes of a World War II soldier.

There is no overarching plot as such; through different episodes and games, the player gets to fight for each of the Allied Forces, re-enacting both fictitious and historical battles.

The sounds of the weapons in the game are recordings of genuine World War II guns, which were fired specially for that purpose. This fact and several others have contributed to the highly acclaimed atmosphere of the "Call of Duty" games, winning them several Game of the Year awards.
6. In this role-playing game, you are one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; more precisely, War, who has been double-crossed and must now set out to exact his revenge. You gain power and regenerate health by absorbing the souls of the enemies you defeat. Which visually impressive game is it?

Answer: Darksiders

"Darksiders" is not the best-known of games, but it is awesome enough even if you just watch someone else play it.
You need a lot of skills for this game, such as jumping, diving, climbing, blocking, etc. The souls of your defeated enemies come in different colors (green for health, yellow for wrath, blue for money), and you need to collect them to enhance your powers or buy new equipment.

Answer: Dead Rising

The unusual thing about "Dead Rising" is that there are several alternative endings, according to how you fare during the game. It is a rather gory game and has been indexed in Germany since 2007, but at the same time it does not take itself too seriously. One major aspect of gameplay is to defeat the zombies with anything you can get your hands on, no matter how unlikely a weapon that object may appear. You have an initial time window of 72 hours (roughly 6 hours of gaming time) to reach the helicopter that will take you to safety; afterwards, there are several additional storylines, including one where you have to stop your own transformation into a zombie.

Answer: Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure

In the world of "Skylanders", there are eight elements (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Magic, Tech, Life, and Undead). Each character (i.e. figure) is assigned one element, so you need all eight elements to be able to complete the game, as some actions can only be performed by a Skylander of one specific element.

There are four characters for each element, so there is some collector's value behind it all. "Skylanders" is a cute and funny game that also works wonderfully in co-op.
9. What is the series of role-playing games that includes "Oblivion" and "Skyrim", among others?

Answer: The Elder Scrolls

"The Elder Scrolls" is a series of role-playing games by Bethesda Softworks. The first instalment, "Arena", came out in 1994 for PC. It was followed by "Daggerfall" (1996), "Morrowind" (2002), "Oblivion" (2006) and "Skyrim" (2011). The games are available for PC; the last two also for XBox 360 and PlayStation 3, and "Morrowind" for XBox.
All "Elder Scrolls" games are set in roughly the same world, but the history spans several hundred years. The games have widely been acknowledged for the vast setting ("Daggerfall" is set in a world which would equal twice the size of Great Britain, according to the publishers).
The franchise also includes action-based games, spin-offs for mobile gaming, and a novel.
10. There are a number of "Lego" video games out there for the XBox 360. They are all similar in the way they are designed, and some general principles apply to all of them. Which of the following is not one of the things that ALL the "Lego" games have in common?

Answer: split screen

All the "Lego" games start in story mode, where you cannot freely choose your character and are usually not able to retrieve all the hidden objects. Characters are unlocked as you proceed, and you can always play together with a friend (it's actually more fun in co-op, as characters often have to help each other). However, an annoying detail in the earlier "Lego" games was the fact that you could not be too far apart from the other character, and if you were standing on a ledge and the other character moved, they would accidentally throw you down and cause your character to die and lose studs.

The split screen mode was first introduced in "Lego Indiana Jones 2" and retained in the "Lego Harry Potter" games and later ones to make sure that did not happen.
